Our Youth Indoctrination Under Guise of the “GIVE” Act

Passed by the House of Representatives with a 321-105 margin, HR 1388: the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act, dubbed the “GIVE” act, would require the US government to develop a plan to implement a “mandatory service requirement for all able young people”.

Already males ages 18 through 25 living in the U.S. register with Selective Service to keep records in the event Congress and the President authorize a draft. What is the purpose of the service requirement under the GIVE act?

The purpose of the GIVE act is to “To reauthorize and reform the national service laws”, specifically the National and Community Service Act of 1990. HR 1388 reads:

‘(9) recognize and increase the impact of social entrepreneurs and other nonprofit community organizations in addressing national and local challenges;

‘(10) increase public and private investment in nonprofit community organizations that are effectively addressing national and local challenges and to encourage such organizations to replicate and expand successful initiatives;

‘(11) leverage Federal investments to increase State, local, business, and philanthropic resources to address national and local challenges;

‘(12) expand and strengthen service-learning programs through year-round opportunities, including during the summer months, to improve the education of children and youth and to maximize the benefits of national and community service, in order to renew the ethic of civic responsibility and the spirit of community to children and youth throughout the United States;

‘(13) assist in coordinating and strengthening Federal and other service opportunities, including opportunities for participation in emergency and disaster preparedness, relief, and recovery;

‘(14) increase service opportunities for our Nation’s retiring professionals, including such opportunities for those retiring from the science, technical, engineering, and mathematics professions to improve the education of our Nation’s youth and keep America competitive in the global knowledge economy, and to further utilize the experience, knowledge, and skills of older Americans;

‘(15) encourage the continued service of the alumni of the national service programs, including service in times of national need;

‘(16) support institutions of higher education that engage students in community service activities, provide service-learning courses, and encourage or assist graduates to pursue careers in public service in the nonprofit or government sector; and

‘(17) encourage members of the Baby Boom generation to partake in service opportunities.’.

HR 1388 specifically targets Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) and the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) which Congress expects will reach 250,000 participants by 2014. From school-based service learning programs to focusing on severely economically depressed communities, the GIVE act sounds good until you get to part about the mandatory service requirement for youth. How can volunteerism be mandatory? The Future explains:

Section 6104 of The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act requires that a commission be established to investigate, “Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.”

Of course I imagine cadres of youth working on environmental projects such as tree planting; however, I can’t get on board with the involuntary servitude. It’s even scarier when you consider Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel coauthored The Plan: Big Ideas for America that calls for compulsory service for Americans ages 18 to 25:

Here’s how it would work. Young people will know that between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five, the nation will enlist them for three months of civilian service. They’ll be asked to report for three months of basic civil defense training in their state or community, where they will learn what to do in the event of biochemical, nuclear or conventional attack; how to assist others in an evacuation; how to respond when a levee breaks or we’re hit by a natural disaster. These young people will be available to address their communities’ most pressing needs.

In fact, Obama and Biden ran on the idea of required community service for our youth:

Obama and Biden will set a goal that all middle and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year, and will establish a new tax credit that is worth $4,000 a year in exchange for 100 hours of public service a year.

HR 1388 is currently on the Senate’s calendar. A cloture motion on the motion to proceed to the measure has been presented in Senate.

What if the 18-25 yr old joins the military. Will they still have to perform the volunteer service requirements as well?

What happens if a child does not complete their mandatory service requirement if the GIVE act passes and one is developed?

Mandatory requirements do not ensure our youth will develop a sense of lifelong community service, and many churches and high schools already have such requirements for youth.

If you believe that the liberal bastions of our educational institutions indoctrinate your children to their ideologies, don’t be fooled by the guise of “goodness” to help communities with the Give Act. Please become informed about how Obama became involved in “community organizing”, who his associates were and what their agenda was!!

The bouncy graduate student President’s allies at EPA report that CO2 is a pollutant. “It is a danger to human health”.

How much faith can any of us have in the intelligence of the American people if over 50% believe CO2 is a pollutant? Probably the exact same number which voted for graduate student community organizer Obama in 2008. Let us promote an experiment by placing those people into a CO2 proof controlled environment including the most magnificent vegetable garden imaginable at their fingertips. Plenty of water, too. Any odds which would die first, Animal or Vegetable?

The Stench Of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd

I was divorced in 1991 after 34 years of marriage. Note: Divorces are rarely economically sound. Especially for the male of the divorce. I was very fortunate to have been married to the best kind of human being. Even so, the division of property, no matter how equitably distributed, was a defeat for us both.

My story has to do with Democrats, not with my life’s story, however. I was left broke, but “owner” of my house. My wife was sincerely concerned about her children and my future. “Owner” meant I picked up the mortgage. The divorce agreement said I had five years to pay my ex $50,000. I had started a business from “ground zero”, which included knowing nothing about business, a handicap never overcome. I loved the art of what I did. The rest of it was dreamworld. I was still a Lefty, although by now voting straight Repubican. I needed money.

I went to the bank. I pleaded my case…the year was 1992. “Remortgage, please.” “What collateral, Mr. Ray…well, I am 58, and…..? I had to shop and shop and shop…but eventually got a new mortgage which loosened up $12,000 which I directed into a “business”. Later in the year after making payroll, I had no money left to pay myself. Yet, my artwork was coming along fairly well. Despite my anxieties, I was very happy in my work. I had found myself.

Enter 1996. Could I hold on to my property? Only with a bit of luck. As luck would have it, the American financial climate had changed. I knew nothing about that change until October 2008 when Barney Frank, Christopher Dodd, Jimmy Carter, and Prince Dandy, Bill Clinton turned out to be the dance team pushing Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae disasters.

In 1996 the nicest guy in the world came to my house to discuss the appraisal for this vital new mortgage which would determine my future. “Such courtesy, I thought”, remembering my three previous mortgage-seeking experiences sweating it out in offices suffering lashes and the third degree attempting to negotiate some niggardly dollar amount. “What kind of loan would you like, Mr. Ray?”

He knew I wanted a new mortgage, but no matter, I answered him…”a mortgage”. This appraisal gentleman corrected me, “No..” “What I mean is…why do you want the mortgage…do you need money?” I answered that I did. He reminded me that I would have to accept higher taxes in case the appraisal was at the higher end of the estimate. Everyone knows that, even I. I repeated my need for money. The appraisal wound up at the high end of the estimate. The appraisal gentleman made my day and my career…I got enough money to meet my divorce debt. Appraiser guy was one of the heroes in my life.

Enter October 2008 and beyond. Enter the great collapse of the American home loan industry…and the financial markets. Enter from my memory the generosity of the 1996 gentleman appraiser. Enter into my understandings the knowledge, the two greatest villains causing this collapse are: BARNEY FRANK AND CHRISTOPHER DODD. The dates, 1977 and 1992 of the Carter and Clinton administrations become important with the threats made upon the nation’s financial world made by the Democratic Party!

There is no question that Wall Street’s integrity was on a downhill slide throughout the past 15 years. The primary cause between, in my experience pre 1992 and 1996 from tight controls of loans to signups with a smile, in my view is racial, even racist. Toss in a lot of bribery.

It seems true that the Democratic Party (the party of Socialist Equality at all costs), threatened our country’s Home Loan industry that if it didn’t open up its pockets to blacks, the industry would be charged with Racism and suffer the onslaught of Federal law suits for Civil Rights violations. The industry caved in, standards collapsed, and handing out paper money with phony mortgages became a way of life on Wall Street. I am not an economist, but I am very aware of my political environment. I smelled the corruption of this period. I did not know where the carcass lay. THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, and a Wall Street industry that didn’t defend itself to Left Wing bribery has caused the stench. Where am I wrong, dear friends?
