If the mass media folks were more honest and professional than the devoted left wing bigots they were programmed to become while they were in college, student body president, Barrack Obama, would not be student body president. Trillions of dollars would not be transfered from the world’s economy into the fraud of “Global Warming”, the cultural effect of which would be headline news today. The lies of Nancy Pelosi that she knew nothing about waterboarding, and frauds of sister Hillary, would be well known for their shame. Loony Joe Biden wouldn’t be queen of comic relief.
The American electorate would be introduced to a bit of world history and begin to realize there is more to know than the messages and their interpretations of academia’s favorite prophets, Karl Marx and Al Gore.
If today’s American adult had received a proper education from a well crafted curriculum designed to strengthen the American mental experience, Obama’s marriage of Karl Marx and Al Gore would be too laughable to be believed. Ignorance among the Left has always been blissful. Facts never bother the left. Just emote and follow.
Recently the National Geographic made public the following headline:
SUN ODDLY QUIET – HINTS AT NEXT “LITTLE ICE AGE”?
Within the article comes the following information:
“The sun is the least active it’s been in decades and the dimmest in a hundred years. The lull is causing some scientists to recall the Little Ice Age, an unusual cold spell in Europe and North America which lasted from about 1300 to 1850.
The coldest period of the Little Ice Age, between 1645 and 1715, has been linked to a deep dip in solar storms known as the Maunder Minimum.
During that time, access to Greenland was largely cut off by ice, and canals in Holland routinely froze solid. Glaciers in the Alps engulfed whole villages, and sea ice increased so much that no open water flowed around Iceland in the year 1695.”
It is not my attempt to play one upmanship here, but I wonder how many Americans under age 60 learned anything about world history, American history, geology, botany, geography in college or high school that is memorable. Do they know that the Earth’s magnetic poles are almost always migrating? Do they know dinosaur bones frequent North Dakota? How many Americans under age 60 know that amassing knowledge used to be the cornerstone of American education before the Liberal Education movement replaced it with “something more important”, teaching sudents “How to Think”, and as learnings yielded to the more political and vulgar with the rise of the new Left, “What to Think”. Amassing knowledge was thought essential to the health of our American democracy. It would help voters make wiser decisions. Leftists attacked knowledge as “rote” learning. The Left won. Knowledge lost. One cannot teach what one does not know. So teaching lost as well.
I learned about this “Little Ice Age” in Europe in Miss Ruby Moe’s public school World History class in 1950. Knowing events was still important that year. The Vikings had settled in glacierless Greenland in the tenth century we discovered. We knew they disappeared, but we didn’t know why. The year before, in 9th grade General Science class I was taught CO2 was a small time atmospheric gas with enormous consequences. Neither we, nor plants could live without it. Plants grew bigger when there was more of it.
I congratulate the persons at the National Geographic responsible for reporting the sun’s present mood and the potential consequences. It has been a huge advertiser for Al Gore’s propaganda, “Inconvenient Truth”. Unlike profiteer Gore however, they have not claimed there is no need for further study.
Did you notice, that the title Sun Oddly Quiet – Hints at Next “Little Ice Age”? ended with a question mark. What do you suppose was meant by that? Maybe it was a typo. Do you think?
