Dear Prager People and conservatives everywhere: I received a “thank you” note from my Congressman of the 3rd Minnesota District, Erik Paulsen. I find the note informative, embarrassing, and insulting. It is what one might expect from a bureaucrat lost in Government machinations. Erik is a better man than a bureaucrat lost in Government machinations. But our politicians, even the better ones have come upon very bad habits.
This is not a note from his office regarding the blog I had written a few days ago, “Looking for Erik While America is Melting”. I don’t think this “thank you” letter is from the real Erik. This is an answer apparently to my question on his website, the question which was rejected because I didn’t know what was meant by the required information, “prefix” or “suffix”. After the rejection I ran through Erik’s bureaucratic instructions again and decided to print “ab” in both slots, the “prefix” and the “suffix”. My comments about Honduras must have made it through the electronics if not through human sight and thought.
Erik says in the second sentence, “A dependable procedure for the peaceful transfer of power is fundamental to a democratic nation and I hope Honduras is able to rebound from the recent events there.”
WHAT A SMELLY COLLECTION OF WORDS!
Transfer of power from whom to whom? Is Erik a Fidelisto or not? I want to know!
WHAT A SMELLY COLLECTION OF WORDS!
He assures me he will have the most reliable information coming out of this area. That is spectacular BULL! If he has the most reliable information coming out of the area, why doesn’t he share it with me and all the rest of his constituents? Why the secrets? Why is Erik hiding this “most reliable information”?
WHAT A SMELLY COLLECTION OF WORDS!
He emails that he hopes Honduras “will seek to restore a legitimate and democratic government as quickly and completely as possible to ensure minimum offense to the consititution of Honduras.”
WHAT A SMELLY COLLECTION OF WORDS!
Do I read this email correctly? Erik’s bureau of “most reliable information” is suggesting what?….”to restore” is an infinitive which means something like “to return to the same condition”. Am I correct, dear Prager friends, that our 3rd District Congressional Representative, a Republican, no less, having the “most reliable information” is insinuating that the Chavez stoodge, Manuel Zelaya, is to be restored to the presidency of the democratic country of Honduras?
And, Erik Paulsen, if your answer is yes, what, exactly do you expect to happen in Honduras?
Erik Paulsen, If you are aware of several resolutions put forth by your fellow colleagues in the House of Representatives, and Gerry Nadler, Congressman from New York City supports the resolution, would that, might that very act encourage you to think the issue through a bit more carefully?
No, Erik, I am not at all sure as you suggest you will keep my views in mind. And, don’t worry, when I see you again, I won’t embarrass you by asking. But, where are you, Erik?
AMERICA IS MELTING! I AM STILL LOOKING FOR ERIK. CAN ANYONE FIND HIM?
The Email from Erik Paulsen’s Congressional Office
Dear Glenn:
Thank you for contacting me with your concerns regarding the recent events that have occurred in Honduras.
A dependable procedure for the peaceful transfer of power is fundamental to a democratic nation and I hope Honduras is able to rebound from the recent events there.
I have been closely monitoring the situation in Honduras and will remain committed to ensuring we have access to the most reliable information coming out of this area of the world. I hope the country will seek to restore a legitimate and democratic government as quickly and completely as possible to ensure minimum offense to the constitution of Honduras.
I am aware of several resolutions put forward by my fellow colleagues in the House, and you can be sure I will keep your views in mind if these resolutions move forward.
Thanks again for sharing your concerns, as I appreciate hearing from you. Please let me know whenever I can be of assistance.
The email was “signed” by Erik’s signature
One of the most frequent questions asked by Prager and other conservatives is “How do we know if a Republican is a conservative? My answer is, “Assume he or she is not, These people have matriculated through the same high schools and universities indoctrinated by the same teachers and professors. Many Republicans would like to be conservative, but then don’t know when and how. As in college, they feel like fish out of water, but the show is the same….with the same Marxist audience. At best, they are just poorly educated. Like the general American population, they can smell the stink, all right, but they cannot identify the source.”
Finally, I don’t think Erik wrote the above “thank you” letter. “Therein Lies The Rub!”
