As Obama Marxism Marches On, How Long Will It Be Until the Citizen Finds Himself Alone?

I am not optimistic about our American future.  Yes, it is encouraging to see a rumbling amongst the middle class….a middle class tired of being sandwiched in by the socialism of the rich and the socialism of the poor.  The greed of both groups feeding out of the government trough will crush governance into chaos and poverty.  The poor will riot and bomb, attacking and robbing the shops of the middle class families.  Bill Ayers and his wife will again have fun.  The country will become paralyzed until Marxist law expands government ownership over citizen’s  life and possessions.

The people will be made equal.

At each decade of the past 80 years, each American individual becomes personally ever more exposed  to government ownership…….overseership, if you prefer….but what is the difference?

Government rule over my parents and my personal lives 70 years ago was quite distant compared to today’s almost intimate union.  Schools were well supported for they advanced  concepts nearly everyone approve of….individual initiative, middle class private enterprise, personal and family responsibility, the American dream.  Church or synagogue competed with government teaching  learnings, some with socials services, but supportive of the nation’s social values and its cultural ethos in general , which, of course, these religious institutions had the major hand  not only in sculpting but in maintaining.  In the world of Marxists, the State absorbs God.

Recognition of the JudeoChristian God among my own public school teachers was frequently expressed and seemed unanimously agreed upon.   The many religious institutions all were competing unimpaired by government for their niche in the culture, some as a nanny ministate, others preaching, always emphasizing the freedom of personal enterprise and responsibility.  Social Security taxes appeared in the mid 1930s.  Socialism had entered the American house.

I am not writing here to judge which government aid actually benefitted individuals, or abetted individuals to slip into lethargy and indolence…….those debates can have champions on many sides.  What is true and undebatable, is once the gifts from government begin, there is no end to the giving until the till becomes empty.  Those quite used to bribes will be especially angry.

I remember perhaps fifty years ago watching a program on public television….an experiment.   Apparently baboons go bananas, not over bananas, but over oranges….as I recall.   Baboons live in tribelike groupings, 40 or more to a clan.  There, of course, are the alpha males and alpha females fighting and occasionally killing for “cultural” dominance which includes  sex and dining rights above all others.  What would happen to baboon culture if a reliable and endless supply of oranges were provided to the entire clan?   Would the warriors and the guards retain their primary responsibilities?  Would the female flea picking and nurturing duties continue to be provided by some pecking order?   Would the battle for sexual collections and rights and female pecking order continue amongst the most devoted, the most aggressive?   Which would signal flight or fight if predators approached?

In other words what would happen to the  very tight and rigid organization of baboon clan life if such a pleasure as a reliable and endless supply of these magnificent oranges have on baboon societal organization?

It totally collapsed.  When reliably sated, why bother with work and responsibility?

Enter the drone society.

But what then happens when the oranges are withdrawn?    Anarchy and slaughter.

In Soviet Society, or in any Communist Marxism, the only entity  which exists besides the individual is the Marxist Dictatorship’s government bureaucracy itself.   There were no churches or synagogues, no clubs, no societies, no organized groupings of any kind…….there was only the Communist Party which directed anything and everything….often even including family decisions.  Anything organized was Party controlled.  Party controlled all production, management, labor, consumer matters.  The Party managed and micromanaged nearly every aspect of life.  There was no need for religion.  That could become a threat to the Party.

One, then, would be taught that God is dead.  There is only the Party.  The Party will decide things “God”.

Like Barack Obama, Soviet governors were quite certain they knew what was best for  citizen life.  Each person would be grateful to Comrade Stalin for relieving them of their general and personal responsibilities.   Everyone, except those like Obama and his fellow leftwing Democrats who rule the roost, would be paid equal……Equal pay for equal work….(Ever hear that chant?)

We know that Obama’s personal health care plan will not be the same as yours or mine under Obamacare legislation about to be jammed down the  American throat.  As in Orwell’s Animal Farm, some animals are more equal than others.  They are called Pigs in his novel.  In America they are called Democrats.

Every year the American citizen becomes more and more exposed to the touch and the only touch of goverrnment.  There used to be hundreds and hundreds of corner pharmacies in the Twin Cities when I was a boy.  My dad owned one on Selby and Snelling in St. Paul.  Corner markets were everywhere.  Hardware shops, too.

Today, mass buying by mammoth business nationals has allowed for lower prices killing the middle class.  Citizens  have no ethics when it comes to shopping.  They even fight for bargains in some places.

In many industries there are only a handful of corporations making decisions for the nation’s thinking, buying, and behaving habits.  Behind this small handfall slithers the government anaconda squeezing any industry of its choosing.

The path of American progress is leading to Marxist dictatorship….no Church or synagogue, no private schools or special tutoring, no decision making by neighbors about choices within their community will be necessary.    No decision making will be allowed.  There is only government.    Government versus the individual……In Obamaworld Government, not father, knows best.

The Soviets were convinced they were improving culture and society….Humanity was benefitting by Party committees deciding price of goods, size of living space, style of coats and suits.  Three colors blouses would be decided by the People’s Clothing Unions, all Party controlled.

The Party “committee of eleven” would determine the Peoples’ Transportation routes.  Cars will be banned to minimize carbon footprints.

No decisions need to be made by the individual.  An individual  might make a mistake.  Since everyone, (except Obama party folks)  is equal, everyone should be happy.   Obama doesn’t make mistakes.

Everyone will have the same 750 square feet of living space with two families sharing one kitchen….to reduce another  carbon footprint.  No one except for Party members will have lake homes.  If  anyone wants a lake home, have them join the Democrat Party, for that’s the Party that hands out the favors.

In the good old USSR, the Communist Party always handed out the favors.

Ethics must be  taught generation to generation.  Americans are leaving their Churches and Synagogues.  Women now celebrate the Summer Solstice,  Mother Earth and muscle building.  Women are not programmed to rumble.  The single ones will enjoy the security of the Marxist dictatorship. They will have their one room apartments and health needs all taken care of.  They will be very angry at anyone criticizing the president.

Men will never be happy.  In the old USSR and still in Russian today, they drink away their lives.

Marxist Obama at whatever cost, including national bankruptcy, will jam his obamacare government control of the health industry legislation down the American throat!

Will he dictate energy next?  You elected him, America.  People get the government they deserve.

Seven Miracles That Saved America

A book written by co-authors Ted and Chris Stewart, “Seven Miracles That Saved America: Why They Matter and Why We Should Have Hope” sees particular events, not as random whims of fate, but proof of divine providence at work in American history. The authors are not alone in their perceptions—the very people involved acknowledged the hand of God in their outcome.

The seven “Miracles” are familiar to Americans:

“Christopher Columbus, who “against all odds” discovered the New World — when it could very well have been found by the Chinese.

The survival of Jamestown, despite untold hardship and starvation, ensuring that America would be settled by a religiously oriented and religiously tolerant people.

How an unexplained summer fog shrouded the East River on an August morning, allowing Gen. George Washington and his army to escape annihilation at the hands of the British troops.

The epic events that led to the creation of the United States Constitution, forever establishing this country as “the shining city on the hill.”

How, at a time when it looked like our fledgling democracy was actually going to fail, God answered Abraham Lincoln’s desperate prayer for a victory at Gettysburg, literally changing the future of the world.

The incredibly unlikely scenario that played out during the Battle of Midway during World War II, which in no small part contributed to the Allies’ ability to win the war.

How a would-be assassin’s bullet stopped within an inch of Ronald Reagan’s heart, thus allowing him to live and go on to play a key role in the end of the Cold War.”

In their book, the author’s carefully examine each event to show how a different outcome for any one of them would have changed the course of American history. A much greater appreciation for many American heros was an ‘unintended consequence’ of writing the book. “We had preconceived notions of the greatness of Washington and Lincoln, but that was validated to a quantum-leap degree. We realized that most of our admiration was superficial. These were great men.”

The authors show that we still have reasons to be optimistic, even with all the problems in the world today. “Our country is not perfect. But most of us look at the people in our lives, and they are good people. I’ve lived all over the military and met a lot of good people, who try to do right. Sometimes, I think we don’t give enough credit to what is good in this country.”

Ted and Chris Stewart have impressive credentials. Chris was a record-setting Air Force pilot who holds the record for the fastest nonstop flight around the world (retired) and best-selling author of techno-military thrillers. Ted was appointed a U.S. District judge in 1999 by President Clinton. He taught university courses in law, the Constitution, the Supreme Court and public policy.

Are American Universities Islands of Fascism in Our American Sea of Freedom? Watch “INDOCTRINATE U” With Us! You Decide!

All American institutions have been  immeasurably  corrupted by the violent anti-American Cultural Revolution of the  late 1960s and the 1970s.   The antiwar terrorist Weathermen, including Obama’s friend, Bill Ayers, the Black Nationalists and Black Gangs,  Malcom X….the Black Muslims were among the most murderous.  Eventually,  the less physically violent but vile, nevertheless, feminist movement joined the chaos determined that their peculiar brands of hates should become deeply entrenched into the American story.   They have.

It is easy to forget the ugliness of the era these people brought to our country…..an era in which we still live.  These revolutionaries dominate the culture, the teaching and the administration of the country’s  colleges and universities.  They now teach the teachers of our children and many of the priests, ministers and rabbis of the modern American spiritual world.

DON’T THINK FOR A MOMENT THIS IS AN EXAGGERATION!

At our next Dennis Prager Discussion Group meeting, March 11, from 7:00-9:00PM at Sabes Community Center on Cedar Lake Road in St. Louis Park, we will be showing the incredibly revealing documentary, “Indoctrinate U” to help Americans become better acquainted with today’s American institutions of higher learning particularly in the social sciences.

I generalize and intentionally group these institutions as one.  The exception to the rule described in this documentary is a very rare breed, indeed.

Universities have always been ridiculed for their intellectual and real isolation from real life.  Until relatively recently in America, such isolation, it could be argued, was an advantage.  With rare exception its teaching cadre were Americans.  The cadre understood and represented traditional American values.  Scholarship was deemed a virtue.   The cadre had codes of professional behavior.  These codes did not defend using the college pulpit for preaching sedition and hate.

That university in America is mostly a relic lost in history.

Universities in Germany in the 1930s reflected the Arianism of the state’s politics.  Their graduates abetted Nazi terrorists.  They were building a better Germany.

American universities today not only reflect the Marxism of the country’s Leftwing movement, but indoctrinate America’s  future leaders in general.  Moreover, in some institutions, Marxist religious doctrine has infiltrated into the natural sciences distorting research to support political agendas.

We are educating tomorrows Americans to become Marxist bigots.

Join the Minnesota Dennis Prager Group to learn more about today’s American schools of ‘higher learning’.  Review with us,  this powerful film, “Indoctrinate U”.  Bring your own tranquilizers, please!

An Islamic Academy Which Needs Scrutiny Today and Tomorrow!

A powerline article on Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy

Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy is “a K-8 public charter school in suburban St. Paul. It appears to be  an Islamic school operating illegally at taxpayer expense.

Among other things, the school’s principal is an imam and almost all of its students are Muslim. It is housed in a building that was owned originally by the Muslim American Society of Minnesota (I’m not sure who owns it now). The school has in any event had a mutually beneficial relationship with MAS Minnesota since the school’s inception. The study of Arabic is required at the school. The Arabic comes in handy for the Koranic studies that follow the regular school day.

The ACLU Minnesota has brought a lawsuit challenging the legality of the school’s operation on public funds; the lawsuit is pending in federal court in Minnesota. Prompted by the reportage of then-Star Tribune metro columnist Katherine Kersten, the ACLU Minnesota commenced an investigation of the school. Concluding that the school was in fact operating illegally as a religious institution, the ACLU Minnesota filed the lawsuit. The ACLU Minnesota is represented in the lawsuit by one of the most prominent law firms in the state.

Discussing the lawsuit, ACLU Minnesota executive director Chuck Samuelson observed: “The issue with TiZA, frankly, was the incredible commingling of church and state. It’s a theocratic school. It is as plain as the substantial nose on my face.” As a result of Samuelson’s statement of the ACLU Minnesota’s position in the lawsuit, TiZA alleged that Samuelson and the ACLU had defamed it, asserting several counterclaims against the ACLU Minnesota for amounts in excess of $100,000 (i.e., an unlimited amount).

The ACLU Minnesota’s lawsuit against TiZA is predicated on the establishment clause of the First Amendment as interpreted by the Supreme Court. I was quite sure that there was another clause of the First Amendment that applied to TiZA’s counterclaims against the ACLU Minnesota, but even the common law of defamation provides that truth is a defense.

in the event, Minnesota federal district Judge Donovan Frank summarily dismissed TiZA’s counterclaims. In an order issued this past December, Judge Frank held that, as a public school, TiZA could not assert a claim for defamation.

As to the merits of TiZA’s defamation and defamation-related claims, Judge Frank held that “the allegedly defamatory statements all reflect Plaintiff’s belief [that TiZA is illegally operating as a religious school] and TiZA has alleged no facts that would demonstrate that Plaintiff entertains any doubts as to the truth of its statements.” TiZA therefore had “wholly failed” to allege facts making out the actual malice constitutionally required to support a claim of defamation by a public official or, Judge Frank held, a public school.

In asserting its defamation and defamation-related counterclaims against Samuelson and the ACLU Minnesota, TiZA was taking a leaf from the old Islamist playbook written by CAIR. The irony in this case is that TiZA pretends to be a nonsectarian institution; it is this pretense that goes to the heart of the pending lawsuit.

In her Star Tribune op-ed column today, Kersten reports on affidavits filed in the pending lawsuit against TiZA. The affidavits suggest that TiZA is engaged in serious acts of intimidation to prevent the truth about the school from emerging.

Kersten reports that the ACLU Minnesota “sought a protective order, telling the court that intimidation by TiZA was discouraging potential witnesses from appearing. On February 10, the court barred witness harassment or intimidation by either party.” As I read that, the court granted the ACLU’s motion, but made it binding on both sides.

The pending lawsuit is important, and not just for the result to which it might give rise when it is concluded. Along the way it is producing revelations that deserve attention regardless of the result.”

Comment – ghr:  In Stalin’s expansionist USSR the Communist Party established cells throughout the United States with the expressed purpose to weaken the country through constant crises whereever possible, fair means or foul, till America collapsed into a Marxist state compatible with Moscow’s dream for world “Peace” and its religion of police-enforced equality.

The subterfuge was organized in Moscow through  Comintern…..and then, the Cominform.  Throughout the 1930s Stalinist agents worked to gain sympathizers throughout  the American educational system, the news industry, the movie industry, labor unions,  among  the nation’s intellectuals,  the American foreign service, and eventually in the Manhattan project which developed the atomic bomb project during World War II.   Corruption was rank.  The New York Time cooperated.

Although the goal of  Soviet  Marxism at the time was to defeat the West through  violent revolution, the policy of the realists in the Kremlin was to disrupt American industry with  labor strikes where violence was expected to soften resistence to Communist successes in  the labor movement.

Terrorism was not, however,  in the Soviet plan to corrode American democracy.

Jihadism is a new cancer in the western world.  Terrorism is its main weapon.  Let’s not play Marxist let’s pretend games about what our neighborhood Islamic supported schools are teaching the young, these days.  There is no place for madrassas in American…..Sorry folks……racist schools which advocate violence against the country cannot be tolerated in any civilized society.

In case you are wondering what Jihadism is, click on  Geert Wilders’ controversial video, Fitna, here:

Another Lefty Loses Faith

Over the decades I was a Leftist, I lived under the evidently misguided belief that my side was for freedom and democracy and the other was rigid, old farts willing to do anything to preserve the ancien régime.

Well, nowhere have I been proven more wrong than Holland where the history of the last decade – from the 2002 assassination of Pim Fortuyn to the 2005 murder of Theo Van Gogh to the current controversy surrounding the trial (and political candidacy) of Geert Wilders – makes clear the we indeed live in a world upside down.

As a reminder, Wilders is the Dutch politician now on trial for “hate-speech” in the Netherlands. Among other things he has produced the film Fitna, accusing Islam of being a violent ideology, and called for the banning of the Koran in Holland in similar manner to the banning of Mein Kampf in that country. Many leftist, multi-culturalists have come down heavily on Wilders for this but the Netherlands is a complicated place and others see Wilders as a paragon of free speech and honesty. Needless to say, Wilders’ positions are defensible, even if his methods may have been excessive to our eyes.

Furthermore, many Dutch citizens are apparently on Wilders’ side because, in the midst of his trial, an election is being held and the standard bearer of the Freedom Party is enjoying tremendous popularity. From Reuters:

A Dutch Labour politician’s call to keep far-right leader Geert Wilders out of a new government has stirred anger among other parties who consider the move undemocratic and likely to drive voters towards him.

Wilders and his Freedom Party have been a focus of debate since the Dutch cabinet collapsed on Saturday, as the election which could be held as early as May will be a key opportunity for the anti-immigration group to increase its influence after a stunning success at European elections last year.

Frans Timmermans, a member of the Labour party and minister for European affairs, said on Monday that Labour would refuse to govern in coalition with Wilders’ party, and he called on other parties to consider a similar approach.

“The Labour party stands for a completely different Holland than the party of Wilders, and for that reason we cannot be in a government with him,” a spokeswoman for the Labour party said.

“He (Timmermans) dared other parties to think the same thing. Do they want to be in a government that segregates people by race and religion?”

Wilders has described the call as an “arrogant” attempt to ringfence his Freedom Party (PVV) and said it was an insult to the democratic system, telling Dutch media “the voter will seek punishment for this”.

Members of other parties have also described the move as undemocratic and warned that it could push voters into the arms of Wilders, considered a maverick among the political elite.

What can the Tea Party Movement learn from Wilders? Two things, I think. The first is courage. We are dealing with big issues. Don’t be afraid. Go for them. The public will reward you.

The second is to think globally (to use an old leftist phrase). America is an exceptional country, but the tendency among certain elements of the Tea Party Movement (not just Ron Paulites, but them especially) to use this exceptionalism as an excuse to roll up the plank and act is if the rest of the world does not exist is not only impossible, it’s absurd. Technology has made our globe the size of a peanut. Unwinding the global economy at this point is ridiculous and impoverishing to all. Pretending that ideologies, such as the one Wilders opposes, are not out to destroy our civilization is being willfully ignorant and self-destructive. Learn from Chairman Geert!

Okay, I’m being cute with that last phrase, but there is something to be learned here. Courage is global. Our values are global and we should ally with those who espouse them. Here’s another example. And for an update on the Wilders Trial go here.

Comment:  The above confession by another convert from modern Marxism was found from a website  article about the  Wilder’s trial.  Alas I have lost the name of the site as well as the name of the author of the confession.  Such conversions are not always easy to make.  Mine took about six years….I was never a Marxist, but I did vote for George McGovern.

Europe News on Geert Wilders Trial

The Railroading of Geert Wilders

FrontPage Magazine
By Robert Spencer

The Stalinist-show-trial aspect of the Geert Wilders “hate speech” trial in the Netherlands was thrown into sharp relief last week when the Amsterdam District Court refused to allow Wilders to call fifteen of the eighteen witnesses he had hoped to bring forward in his defense. Wilders in response was characteristically direct: “This Court is not interested in the truth. This Court doesn’t want me to have a fair trial. I can’t have any respect for this. This Court would not be out of place in a dictatorship.”

The three witnesses the court allowed Wilders are the Dutch Islamic scholars Hans Jansen and Simon Admiraal, along with the Wafa Sultan. Hans Jansen’s work on Islam is superb and groundbreaking, and he will be an excellent witness, as will Admiraal and the exemplary freedom fighter Wafa Sultan.

Nonetheless, this decision indicates the hollowness of Dutch justice and the court’s bias against Wilders. For some who would have been Wilders’s most effective witnesses were disallowed. He had wanted to call Mohammed Bouyeri, the murderer of Theo Van Gogh.

Why Bouyeri? Wilders, in the bizarre inquisition that has replaced justice in the Dutch courts, is accused of offending Muslims by pointing out that Muslims invoke the Qur’an and Muhammad’s example to justify violence. However, Bouyeri quoted the Qur’an in the note threatening Wilders and others that he stabbed into Van Gogh’s body, and invoked the Qur’an repeatedly during his trial as well. “Kill them, and Allah will help you and guide your hand,” he said. “There’s no room there for doubt or interpretation there.”

Bouyeri would have proven Wilders’ point immediately: he is simply telling the truth about how Islamic teachings incite all too many Muslims to violence – and if telling the truth is now illegal in the Netherlands, so much the worse for the Netherlands. By disallowing Wilders from calling Bouyeri and others, the court has hindered Wilders’ ability to make this case – suggesting (and by no means for the first time) that the Dutch authorities are determined to convict Wilders, and are not going to let any inconvenient facts get in the way of their doing so.

It is not exaggerating to say that the Geert Wilders trial is a defining moment in the history of Western civilization. One would have to go back centuries to find a court case with as much significance for the future course of the free world. If the farrago of “hate” charges against Wilders stick, and he is convicted, it will herald the end of the freedom of speech in the West, as a precedent will have been set that other Western nations (urged on by the Organization of the Islamic Conference, which is the organization most responsible for the global assault on free speech) will be certain to follow. The era of enlightenment and the understanding that all human beings are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights will be definitively drawing to a close, and a new darkness will descend over Europe and the free world in general. For once the precedent is established that a man can be jailed and destroyed for offending a privileged class, the idea that every human being has rights that cannot be infringed will be damaged beyond repair.

And even if Wilders prevails, enough damage has been done already. The Dutch law (and there are others like it in other Western countries) that stipulates that someone can actually be tried and jailed for offending another person will remain on the books. Other trials will follow. The law will be used by the governing elites who developed it in order to maintain their power and silence independent and dissenting voices.

For that is, of course, the point of all this. The Dutch authorities stand arrayed on one side, with Wilders standing alone on the other. Yet despite the fact that he has nothing like their numbers, wealth, or resources, he threatens to topple their entire multicultural house of cards – for he has on his side a weapon that all of their power cannot defeat, the weapon of truth. And so they are desperate to silence him, and end forever his truth-telling about jihad and Islamic supremacism.

Yet even if they do silence him, the truth will still be the truth. They will not be able to obliterate it forever. But will they be able to help initiate a long, perhaps centuries long, period of darkness and oppression in Europe and its civilizational children?

Certainly.

Paul Ryan, The Star of the Obamashow Healthcare Review

Yesterday’s Obama summit, critics claim was a  theatrical production to prove his determination to lord  over  obstructionists, the NO people, the Republicans, by belittling their smallness for the world to see.  No one, not even Democrats could explain another reason for this event.

Obama’s health care bill has been glued together through its months of existence, all 2500 pages of it by back door bribing, lies, twisted facts, incomplete statistics, false assumptions, false claims, and a host of other evil proceedings……It is a totally Democrat Party bill and has been from the very start.

It is Leftwing legislation unworthy of American politics.  Yet, by sneak of mind and body, the American Marxists are on the verge of stealing from the American citizen their right to decisions regarding their own personal health.

The superstar of the Obamashow, was Paul Ryan, Republican Representative from Wisconsin.  Click on the the youtube video to hear his opening remarks.

The Trial of Geert Wilders for the Crime of “Group Insult”

Mark Steyn follows the politics of  the soft Marxist nations,  on his website, steynonline from time to time.   The news is usually not good.  Democracy seems on the decline in countries like Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.

Currently there is another trial challenging free speech  in the news.  This one is in Holland and it involves Geert Wilders, leader in Dutch politics who wishes to defend liberal, meaning democratic Netherlands.  The following  is from Steyn’s review of the trial:

“Geert Wilders, by contrast, is one of the most popular politicians in the Netherlands, and his fate is central to the future of his kingdom and his continent. He is an elected member of parliament—and, although he’s invariably labelled “far right” in news reports, how far he is depends on where you’re standing: his party came second in last year’s elections for the European Parliament, and a poll of the Dutch electorate in December found it tied for first place. Furthermore, if you read the indictment against him, you’ll see that among other things Wilders is being prosecuted for is proposing an end to “non-Western immigration” to the Netherlands: the offending remarks were made in response to a direct question as to what his party would do in its first days in office. So the Dutch state is explicitly prosecuting the political platform of the most popular opposition party in the country, and attempting to schedule the trial for its own electoral advantage. That’s the sort of thing free societies used to leave to Mobutu, Ferdinand Marcos and this week’s Generalissimo-for-Life.

And in Amsterdam the eventual verdict doesn’t really matter any more than it did here. As Khurrum Awan, head sock puppet for Mohamed Elmasry, crowed to the Canadian Arab News, even though the Canadian Islamic Congress struck out in three different jurisdictions in their attempt to criminalize my writing, the suits cost this magazine (he says) two million bucks, and thereby “attained our strategic objective—to increase the cost of publishing anti-Islamic material.” Likewise, whether Mijnheer Wilders is convicted or acquitted, a lot of politicians, publishers, writers and filmmakers will get the message: steer clear of the subject of Islam unless you want your life consumed.

It gets better. The judge in his wisdom has decided to deny the defendant the level of courtroom security they afforded to Mohammed Bouyeri, the murderer of Theo van Gogh. Wilders lives under armed guard because of explicit death threats against him by Mr. Bouyeri and other Muslims. But he’s the one put on trial for incitement. His movie about Islam, Fitna, is deemed to be “inflammatory,” whereas a new film by Willem Stegeman, De moord op Geert Wilders (The Assassination of Geert Wilders), is so non-inflammatory and entirely acceptable that it’s been produced and promoted by a government-funded radio station.

There’s no shortage of volunteers. In the Low Countries, whenever anyone seeks to discuss Islam outside the very narrow bounds of multicultural political discourse, they wind up either banned (Belgium’s Vlaams Blok), forced into exile (Ayaan Hirsi Ali) or killed (Pim Fortuyn).

It’s remarkable how speedily “the most tolerant country in Europe,” in a peculiarly repellent strain of coercive appeasement, has adopted “shoot the messenger” as an all-purpose cure-all for “Islamophobia.” To some of us, the Netherlands means tulips, clogs, windmills, fingers in the dike. To others, it means marijuana cafés, long-haired soldiers, legalized hookers, fingers in the dike. But the contemporary reality is an increasingly incoherent polity where gays are bashed, uncovered women get jeered at, and you can’t do The Diary of Anne Frank as your school play lest the Gestapo walk-ons are greeted by audience cries of “She’s in the attic!” Speaking as a bona fide far-right nutcase, I rather resent the label’s export to Holland: Pim Fortuyn wasn’t “right-wing,” he was a gay hedonist; Theo van Gogh was an anti-monarchist coke-snorting nihilist; Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a secular liberal feminist; Geert Wilders says he’s opposed to Islam because of its hostility to gay equality, whereas the usual rap against us far-right extremists is that we want the godless sodomites to roast in hell.

It’s not “ironic” that the most liberal country in western Europe should be the most advanced in its descent into a profoundly illiberal hell. It was entirely foreseeable. Geert Wilders is stating the obvious: a society that becomes more Muslim will have fewer gays. Last year, the Rainbow Palace, formerly Amsterdam’s most popular homo-hotel (relax, that’s the Dutch word for it), announced it was renaming itself the Sharm and reorienting itself to Islamic tourism. Or as the website allah.eu put it: “Gay Hotel Turns Muslim.” As a headline in the impeccably non-far-right Spiegel wondered: “How much Allah can the Old Continent bear?” It’s an interesting question, albeit if an increasingly verboten one. The Wilders show trial is important because it will determine whether the subject can be discussed openly by mainstream politicians and public figures, or whether it will be forced underground and manifest itself in more violent ways.

Yet, despite its significance, the trial has received relatively little coverage in the Western media, in part because, for those of a multiculti bent, there’s no easy way to blur the reality—that this is a political prosecution by a thought police so stupid they don’t realize they’re delegitimizing the very institutions of the state. Still, the BBC gave it their best shot, concluding their report thus: “Correspondents say his Freedom Party (PVV), which has nine MPs in the lower house of parliament, has built its popularity largely by tapping into the fear and resentment of Muslim immigrants.”

Gotcha. This democracy business is all very well, but let’s face it, the people are saps, gullible boobs, racist morons, knuckle-dragging f–kwits. One-man-one-vote is fine in theory, but next thing you know some slicker’s “tapping into” the morons’ “fears and resentments” and cleaning up at the polls.

Strange how it always comes back to a contempt for the people. Whenever the electorate departs from the elite’s pieties, whether in the Netherlands or in Massachusetts last month, it’s because some wily demagogue like, er, Scott Brown has been playing on the impressionable hicks’ “fears and resentments.” To the statist bullies at Canada’s “Human Rights” Commissions, their powers to regulate speech are necessary to prevent hate-mongers like me tapping into the fears and resentments of the Dominion’s millions of birdbrained boobs. Yes, that would be you, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schmoe of 22 Dufferin Gardens. Sure, you’ve voted for the Liberals every year since Expo, but c’mon, in your heart you know even you might be…susceptible…impressionable.

In the old days—divine right of kings, rule by patrician nobility—it was easier. But today’s establishment is obliged to pay at least lip service to popular sovereignty. So it has to behave more artfully. You’ll still have your vote; it’s just that the guy you wanted to give it to is on trial, and his platform’s been criminalized.

To return to where we came in, what does it mean when the Ministry of Justice proudly declares that the truth is no defence? When the law stands in explicit opposition to the truth, freeborn peoples should stand in opposition to the law. Because, as the British commentator Pat Condell says, “When the truth is no defence, there is no defence”—and what we are witnessing is a heresy trial. The good news is that the Openbaar Ministerie is doing such a grand job with its pilot program of apostasy prosecutions you’ll barely notice when sharia is formally adopted.”

Comment:  Steyn has a special interest in these freedom of speech trials, for recently, he himself ,was charged by the Canadian Human Rights Commission with hate crimes when he wrote a number of passages in his book, “America Alone”,  critical of  Jihadism.   A Muslim had made an accusation of racism, and Steyn faced serious penalities.

This is the same  Human Rights Commission which accused Ezra Levant of hate crimes when a single Muslim had written a note of accusation against Levant and the case was enthusiastically pursued by these bureaucrats who had the power to punish those found “offending”, which included imprisonment….In Canada several Christian ministers have been put in prison for publicly expressing their religious beliefs that homosexuality is a sin.

Our own Democrat Party has major constituencies which pressure both Federal and state governments to punish anyone who might offend these favored minorities.

Barack’s Theater at Blair House to Capture the Health Industry

As Barack skipped toward Blair House before his “summit” with the Republicans was to begin he called out to a newsman asking what Barack’s plan was, the director of the show answered, “I’m looking forward to listening”.

That would be very hard for this Barack to do.  Listening is not his gift.  Talking “I” is his gift.  Talking disingenuously, is his gift, and he is very, very good at it, as listeners, at least those actually pay attention to Obamawords, certainly know.

Did he listen?    Let’s look at the stats!

According to news reports, during this Obama called summit at Blair House, Democrats spoke for 2 hours and 53 minutes.  In addition Obama speak lasted one hour fifty three minutes, and Obamalistening to Republicans speaking was limited to one hour and 50 minutes.

FINAL SCORE:

Time devoted to Obamatalk                 1 hr. 53 min.

Time devoted to Democrat talk           2 hrs. 53 min.

Time devoted to Republican talk        1 hr. 50 min.

Doesn’t this prove  Barack listened more than Barack talked?  Not really, if one counts the 3 hours  and 53 minutes performance of Barack, the ventriloquist.

In Obama we have a man strange to the American experience, devotedly, no ferociously, in tandem with two looniest in Congress, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, both habitual liars of the first order,  legislating to grab, Marxist style, almost 20 per cent of the American economy for Soviet-like government management of the future of citizen health.  They already own General Motors.

And crushing the American economy with a minimum of $2,000,000,000,000 of debt over the next decade added to the crushing debts this Marxist Obama has already foisted on the people of this country…..Just whom is this guy serving when nearly 60% of the polled population oppose this Democrat Obamacare bill?

Whom is Obama serving?  Marxism!

Barack snapped at John McCain at one time, “Let me make this point, John, we’re not campaigning.  The election’s over.”   He repeated the word “agree” often to remind his audience how agreeable he is to  jam obamacare into Federal Law.

Pelosi smiled her icy face…..Harry Reid blamed Republicans for raising the nuclear option question, claiming, “No one hs been talking about reconciliation” until the minority party had raised it today at Blair House….The man lies, or maybe he forgot that the Democrat Leftwing has been demanding they violate reconciliation, the Democrat Senator Robert Byrd protocol passed by the Senate 30 years ago to limit filibustering on certain financial matters.

I couldn’t last….I didn’t last.  I am not proud of this  American government which is slipping into the abyss of Marxist management.

Kim Strassel of the Wall Street Journal wrote:

The thing to know about President Obama’s health talkfest is that it had zero to do with Republicans or their ideas. The GOP came, it spiritedly debated, it left. The president never budged. He never intended to.

The Summit Show was designed by Democrats for Democrats, to give Mr. Obama an all-day stage to inspire and exhort his party to charge once more into the health fray. It’s about “altering the political atmospherics,” admitted one senior Democrat. Yet for all the talk of “jump-start,” there’s little to suggest the ugly politics of passage have changed.

“Diversity Disease and Terminal Trouble”….Mark Steyn

I fully realize  that the characteristic of taste differs even among people who have almost identical religious, political and ethical beliefs. Well,  to my taste, I find Mark Steyn one of the quickest minded, brightest, most clever, and truly the most gifted user of humorous phrases and vocabulary I have ever come across in my life.  I am so happy he is on my side on all of life’s most important issues.  I should like him too much if he were a lefty, and he knew me, for he would make good fun of me, and make me laugh reading about it.

For those of you who might not find his writing style to your humor or taste….please read him anyway.  The man is brilliant and a true conservative.

I also recommend you follow this patriot on his website at marksteynon line.   You may wish to  read his book, “America Alone”.   There might be a taste issue there too, however.  Some of us might not be so amused reading about America going down the drain.  Anyway, please read “Celebrate Diversity Unto Death”, Feb. 23, 2010,  below…….. by Mark Steyn:

Celebrate Diversity Unto Death   [Mark Steyn]

I pretty much said what I had to say about the Fort Hood massacre in the first couple of weeks, because it was perfectly obvious within about 48 hours that 14 people (including an unborn child) had died so that “diversity” might live. As is the way, the official version is taking longer to catch up to what anyone not marinated in brain-eating PC mush could see from the get-go. The Boston Globe has a story on a new army report, unfortunately completed too late for last month’s whitewash:

An obvious “problem child’’ spouting extremist views, Hasan made numerous statements that were not protected by the First Amendment and were grounds for discharge by violating his military oath, investigators found. . .

In searching for explanations for why superiors did not move to revoke Hasan’s security clearances or expel him from the Army, the report portrays colleagues and superiors as possibly reluctant to lose one of the Army’s few Muslim mental health specialists.

The report concludes that because the Army had attracted only one Muslim psychiatrist in addition to Hasan since 2001, “it is possible some were afraid’’ of losing such diversity “and thus were willing to overlook Hasan’s deficiencies as an officer.’’

You’ll recall the cringe-making response to the massacre by the embarrassing General Casey, the Army’s chief of staff:

“What happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy,” said Gen. Casey, the Army’s chief of staff, “but I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here.”

The fact that a grown man not employed by a U.S. educational institution or media outlet used the word “diversity” in a non-parodic sense should be deeply disturbing. “Diversity” is not a virtue; it’s morally neutral: A group of five white upper-middle-class liberal NPR-listening women is non-diverse; a group of four white upper-middle-class liberal NPR-listening women plus Sudan’s leading clitorectomy practitioner is more diverse but not necessarily the better for it. For 30 years we have watched as politically correct fatuities swallowed the entire educational system, while we deluded ourselves that it was just a phase, something kids had to put up with as the price for getting a better job a couple years down the road. The idea that two generations could be soaked in this corrosive bilge and it would have no broader impact was always absurd. When the chief of staff of the United States Army has got the disease, you’re in big (and probably terminal) trouble.”
