Powerline on Obama Incompetence

The following article appeared at Powerline Feb. 13:

The Obama administration is setting a standard of incompetence not likely to be rivaled any time soon. In the “stimulus” bill, nearly $2 billion was allocated to support wind power, thereby creating “green jobs” and contributing to energy independence. Investors Business Daily describes what happened instead:

According to the Investigative Reporting Workshop at American University, nearly $2 billion in money from the American Recovery and Investment Act has been spent on wind power. The goal was to further energy independence while creating American jobs. It has done neither.

Of the money spent, according to the report, nearly 80% has gone to foreign manufacturers of wind turbines. …

Of the 1,807 turbines erected on 28 wind farms receiving grants, foreign-owned manufacturers built 1,219, according to the workshop report. The installation of these turbines may have created as many as 6,838 manufacturing jobs overseas. …

The irony is we leave vast reserves of job-creating domestic oil, coal and natural gas locked up as we sacrifice our economy to the Gaia, the goddess of climate change, something China has wisely refused to do.

Feminazis Alive and Well at Duke U.

Taylor says the disciplinary rules deny the accused the right to have an attorney at the hearing panel or to confront his accuser. The accuser is also permitted to make opening and closing statements, but the accused is not.

Taylor reports that the new rules are a response, in part, to a slight decline in reported cases of sexual misconduct at Duke. A rational person would welcome this development and, if anything, consider it a reason not to adopt more draconian rules. But for Duke’s Women’s Center, whose turf includes allegations of sexual misconduct, the decline in “business” is unwelcome. Its representative argues that the decline in reports of sexual misconduct is the result of a rise in unreported misconducted. This must be true, she maintains, because Duke has a “rape culture.” The same culture, presumably, that produced the non-rape by the Duke lacrosse players.

But here’s my favorite part of the story. Ada Gregory, director of the Women’s Center, argues that “higher IQ males” like those who populate Duke are particularly effective at “manipulation and coercion.” Hence their ability to “rape” women without them even realizing it.

It is my understanding that Duke also admits “higher IQ females.” But if you’re a radical feminist, women must always be clueless and helpless, no matter how intelligent they might seem.

Nazi Propaganda at the National Geographic Channel

This morning I watched for the umteenth time the National Geographic “documentary” called “Naked Science:  Glacier Meltdown”.  Only once before had I seen this propaganda piece full hour from start to finish.  There are other science thrillers in the Naked Science horror story series………  ”Naked Science: Countdown to Impact”  followed “Glacier Meltdown” on this morning’s National Geographic television schedule.  Ratings have value…the more shocking the higher the value. 

Suppose  National Geographic had a  German Division, 1937-38 in Berlin.   Scientists there at that time announced themselves to be  in total agreement about the physical and mental inferiority of the nation’s Jewish population.  It was agreed by both the “science” community and the political establishment of the time that  the population was a serious danger to the health and well being of non-Jews throughout the country and beyond. 

These scientists were thrilled to serve their nation’s noble drives to clean up the Earth. 

Let us assume that late 1930s Berlin had television communications within the country similar to our modern day, but limited to those within the boundaries of the Third Reich.  Let us imagine the science community, would receive  funding from the State to prove a State driven premise, that Jews were harmful to the human community, both at present and in the future.  National Geographic was to receive exclusive rights to present its science based  series, “Naked Science:  The Plague of the Jew!” followed by other horror videos such as “Jewish Vermine in the Market Place” and “Jewish Thirst for Arian Blood”, for more specific effect.

Every week, ten times a week, each video in a series of ten, is shown exclusively on the nation’s television network on all Deutchescience networks….the only networks there are.  Pamphlets and texts describing the threat are provided whereever  books appear.  The nation’s political leaders, every professor of every  field of study, all teachers, the press and every other means of communication , the schools, the physicians, entertainers, priests and ministers are provided with additional “scientific” research to prove the horrors  facing  the general population if the Jewish threat isn’t dealt with as soon as possible.  Dissenters, at best,  would not be allowed to be funded to continue their dissenting and most likely, lose their employment.  

“In fifteen years a disaster beyond our worst fears may occur”  Naked Science announced again and again.  “Millions along the coast line will die.  Computers prove that the carbon dioxide from this vile species of human waste will melt ice if this population isn’t immediately destroyed”.

“ Naked Science: Glacier Meltdown” is a masterful piece of emotional violence propaganda of which  the 1937-38 Nazi  “scientists” and Party members and zealots would be proud.  The enemies identified in the propaganda  are alleged to be threatening  human life itself.  Every human being must be on the alert!  The sky is about to fall!  The seas are rising.

The video shows “scientists” in action. “Scientists are worried”!  Not some scientists are worried.  Not a few scientists are worried, but “SCIENTISTS are worried”. 

“Greenland is MELTING!”……”ruining Earth’s balance”.  Scientists have proven “Glaciers are melting faster than ever before!”   Greenland is melting twice as fast in 2003 than it was in 1985.  Ice covering Greenland is now at the lowest in 10,000 years.  No mention is made of the Viking settlements during the ninth and tenth centuries or why the landmass is called “Greenland.”   That sea levels remained the same was not mentioned either.

“We once believed Antarctic ice cover was stable.  In 2002 the Larson B ice sheet, 10,000 years of glacial buildup, broke off and disappeared into the sea.”   No one  referred to statistics offered by  climatologists that in that mass called  Antarctica, the size of which is over 5,000,000 square miles, one and a half times larger than the United States, the glaciers are actually  increasing in size.

“ANTARCTIC MELTDOWN HAS BEGUN!”

The western Antarctic ice pack is more unstable every year.  Melt water cracks glaciers and attacks the glaciers from below causing water to hasten the moving and melting process, the narrator explains.    (Listeners can sense the cancer spreading.  Can  there be hope?)

The climate is “TOO WARM FOR THE GLACIERS TO SURVIVE!’

“OUR PLANET WILL TURN INTO SOMETHING UNRECOGNIZABLE”  and this is  to happen within 50 years. 

“THE ANTARCTIC IS A DISASTER IN THE MAKING!”     “Jaws” music accompanies each of the disaster certainties  reminding viewers sharks are drawn to blood. 

Keep in mind that we now know that much of the so-called research to anchor the hysteria dramatized in the Naked Science video, has been manipulated to coincide with the political purposes of the IPCC, (the International Panel on Climate Change) the United Nations organization which  provided billions of dollars for research to prove that the Earth is warming, populations are  threatened,   and man has caused the impending disaster.  Al Gore  had said so.

Now National Geographic’s “Naked Science:  Glacier Meltdown” turns to its more Nazi-like fascist tendencies…..deciding what will be the “Jew” of 21st century Climategate Politics………….

CARBON DIOXIDE!

The scientists receiving funding to produce the science proving Climate Change begin their theses that 1) Carbon Dioxide levels are related to temperature, and 2) Carbon Dioxide, one of the greenhouse gases, is increasingly causing  global warming!   (I think these items are not under attack by anyone, but I am not in the boxing ring of these climate gurus, so I might be wrong.)  The narrator begins to list statistics….With a 30% rise in in atmospheric Carbon Dioxide there will be a ten degree Fahrenheit increase in temperature…the highest Earth temperature for a million years.

This may happen sooner that we thought, the narrator moans.   “Most of the time the sea is our friend”    Then climate expert, Richard Alley, shows from a kitchen what might happen if too much ice melts too rapidly in a rather confined area like a bowl full of water.  Richard Alley is at Penn State.  He has not yet been directly implicated in the fraud at Penn State which has caused the resignations of two highest up “experts” caught manipulating research statistics made public when their emails were intercepted several months ago. 

Naked Science program scientists claim the hurricanes are bound to increase in intensity due to global warming.  “If we burn all the fossill fuels there will be a huge impact on the Earth”.   This statement arises out of the blue.   “Jaws”  music continues with its ominous rhythms.

We know, scientist Jonathan Overpeck reports, after checking the habits of coral reefs, the ocean levels were 20 feet higher 130,000 years ago when the temperature was 5 to 8 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than today. 

“IT SEEMS HISTORY IS REPEATING ITSELF”  

“SCIENTISTS ARE WORRIED”      “WE MIGHT BE WARMING THE EARTH’ 

And then another announcement of certainty….”THE EARTH IS APPROACHING A TIPPING POINT!”

Statements of science certitude and what might and could, and may be happening, are intertwined so frequently and cleverly, the entire program is reduced to political propaganda.

A worried “scientist” Bill McGuire inserts a fact…that “as temperature rises weather patterns begin to change”…something I learned in 9th grade general science.   

“PLANETARY WARMING IS OUT OF CONTROL!!.”  something I didn’t learn in 9th grade general science but offered as a guarantee by the Naked Science narrator.

Worried climatologist, Richard Alley, returns to the screen with a chart showing the rise and fall of lead in Earth’s environment when it accompanied the gasoline used in automobiles compared to when lead in gasoline was banned.  We can control Carbon Dioxide similarly, he assured his viewer.  This scientist compared Carbon Dioxide to Lead!

Carbon dioxide is a gas vital to life.  It is not a pollutant.  Living matter is dead without this gas……Our beautiful green matter all around this blessed planet needs it to produce the oxygen we humans need for our every moment of life.  Lead is dead….and can be poisonous!

“HUMAN INDUSTRY IS THE CAUSE!” …of glacier meltdown is asserted with no science to back up the statement in the Naked Science program anywhere.  “If we push ‘the system’ too far” , the United States “east of the Mississippi River will be lost (to the sea) by 2045.”

The program ends with, “AT PRESENT POINT IT IS NOT KNOWN IF  IT  (Earths doom from global warming) IS IRREVERSIBLE.  MAYBE IT ALREADY IS!”
