I caught bits and pieces of Dennis Prager this Central Daylight Time morning. He was particularly eloquent and incisive reviewing the Pope’s visit to the British Isles these past few days. His observations and thoughts were especially profound.
I was raised Protestant. I have no regrets and certainly no resentments about my own religious background. I found learning things in this religious world, especially the Biblical past from an earl age was exciting and thought provoking. Perhaps it started with the child’s hymn, “Jesus Loves Me, This I Know…..for the Bible tells me so.” Or, perhaps I was thrilled to be with both my mother and dad in Church during the major holidays. Otherwise I would never have discovered that my Dad had a fine singing voice and my Mother could sing passionately and loudly.
My Mother conditioned me to recognize right from wrong. She provided the physical consequences of any wanderings. Church, its song, congregation, and Bible reaffirmed her messages and uplifted them into more memorable, more unforgettable sceneries.
I loved the old fashioned Protestant, especially Lutheran hymns. Although I had early troubles reading, I learned words to these hymns without effort…..almost as quickly as I learned readings of the War, and its words in headlines and around the cutlines of war pictures and maps in the St. Paul newspapers to follow the action in Europe and in the Pacific.
I really enjoyed going to gatherings where adults were.
Dennis broadened his “discussion” or “chat’ with himself, to review the consequences of the male role generally in western religions today. He so correctly noted that much of the disappearance of male role models not only in America, but whereever “Liberalism” is practiced, comes from the Leftwing doctrine of forced equality. It has been sold as scientific truth for subsequent policy and practice in the political and educational world ever since the onslaught of the feminist ‘superiority’ movement forty years ago.
The standard American Protestant community has become a gals club. Men are absent. In Roman Catholicism the altar boy has been almost totally replaced by an altar girl. Why?
Women, of course can be as profound and creative intellectually as men.
In post formal education years some still are. But male domination in every field beyond the domestic throughout the millenia is not just the result of a good old boy’s club dictate. The Betty Friedan and Gloria Steinem flock apparently didn’t know this.
Female skills lie elsewhere, but not usually in the general world of problem solving.
I think I recognized this as early as grade school. Most of the smarter girls in my classes were well organized and disciplined. They were also competitive, more than I or any of my buddies, even the Jewish ones.
But I went to libraries to research information, not to read novels. I listened to ‘You Are There’ on radio. Some other guys did too, but no girls….none.
When television sets stuck their rabbit ears around the Twin Cities, I without fail watched the television version on CBS, ‘You Are There’.
Girls read fiction and read fiction faster. The non-fiction information they needed for the tests or exams never went much further. They didn’t discussed anything relevant to class learnings outside of the classroom. There didn’t ever seem to be any natural interest…..any natural curiosity. I and my buddies, even the Jewish ones argued about important goings on…..Harry Truman, the Korean War, Douglas MacArthur, Tom Dewey, Josef Stalin, Joe McCarthy, and so on and so on. After school some of us went home to play “President” a great board game which taught us to understand the Electoral College and the electing of an American president. Boys owned atlasses and almanacs. Girls read ‘Little Women’.
When in college I took a number of classes in undergraduate Soviet Studies with a very well school-disciplined gal, a very bright and competitive, a spectacularly fast reader and good test taker. Once the classes ended, the learning ended……the interest ended……any use of the knowledge seemed to disappear. There never was a discussion about any learnings associated with that class ever raised again. She has always voted Democrat.
In later years as a teacher of high school seniors, I noticed roughly the same patterns among the more serious girl students. They were even more competitive than the boys around them of the same age than what I remember from my own high school experience.
Boys are born curious. In is in the genetic matter.
This nature is so understandable if one reviews the natural role of the human female and human male through the millenia of human development. I think it was Dennis Prager whom I heard on radio remind listeners that it’s boys, not girls, who stick hairpins into electric sockets. Curiosity may kill the cat of both sexes, but not the human of both sexes.
Hairpins look like electric plugs to three, four, and five year old boys. They see mom or dad plug things into sockets and lights go on…..lamps, Christmas tree lights…..I played with matches, God forbid. At four on it was my duty to light the gas water heater in the basement whenever anyone was to take a bath. My sister was afraid of the dark. Girls have their place by Nature, but how many of them in your life’s experience have played with matches.
When I was eight and nine years old I burnt entire villages which I made out of cereal boxes, egg cartons, and such. I’d pretend I was bombing Nazis…. but, with matches….the lit ones. One Fall the conflagration spread to the dry leaves I had raked and piled up too close to the trash barrel into which the cereal boxes and egg cartons were suppose to go, and where I was supposed to light the debris.
I panicked when the dry leaves went “whooooosh’. The hose had been stored away in the garage. I didn’t even have a shovel or rake…..only my feet protected by beat-up shoes. I kicked. I stomped, I kicked the burning leaves some more. Even some lawn was getting black. I stomped and stomped.
I never bombed Nazis out doors again. I did play war with matches and rubbing alcohol in the downstairs washtubs at times. I even experimented with beer or wine leftovers at the bottom of bottles after a mom and dad party, for bombing Nazis in the washtub ONLY.
Mothers know well the difference between a male child and a female child……despite the Marxism of today’s Democrat Party devoted to the insanity of making boys and man feminized for the sake of equality.
The human male….the PROTECTOR…. …throughout the millenia HAD to be curious to protect his pack…his clan….his tribe and himself. It is deeply instinctive to almost all of us, but of course, not to all males. From where with what role would the human female ever have been programmed with this instinct?
Almost all of the human females, especially the singles, I have known over the past fifty years are either graduates or post graduates of university. Although lefties, nearly none of them seem particularly curious about today’s political and cultural crises. I don’t know exactly what they discuss among their women friends, but I am certain it isn’t about military progress on the Afghanistan front, or the rising crime rates in Mexico or the holocaust occuring in the Congo or even about the affrontery of building a mosque at the ruins of the World Trade Center.
Dennis notices that once women are permitted into the rabbi, reverend, or pastor world, menlessness dramatically increases. The human male, BY INSTINCT, knows he cannot trust the female to problem solve as he can a fellow.
Men do not find problem solving through women and so do not look to women for problem solving.
“I want a God of Standards….Not a God of Therapy”, Dennis emphasized…. noting the emphasis the human female places on her feelings rather than her thinking.
When I was trying to figure out who girls were, from somewhere I got the idea that they must be rather like me…..think as I, feel as I, learn as I, anger as I, be happy as I, and so on. But my developing observations told me otherwise. I was told to be polite and be a gentleman, which primarily was a code word for when going to a movie with a girl, one paid attention only to the movie.
Although I very much like female company. I prefer male topics of discussion, debate and resolution. I work with males to achieve tasks through discussion debate, and resolution. Guys can focus in a task until the task is conquered.
Working with females in public school is a dismal life. Women would like to make decisions. But men actually make decisions…. Women would much prefer to work around men coaxing them to feel the way women do and therefore get men to decide exactly what women want them to decide.
The American public school became a feminized institution decades ago. The country’s Democrat Party Marxists and their professors at University are spreading a suicidal heresy that there is no difference between the human male and female beyond the habit ‘ of socialization.
The human male is born a killer, a protector with drives to build and explore the unknown. Whereever the human female begins to dictate the patterns, feelings, and understandings in life…… men run, some mentally, some physically, some in wild frustration to be free to hunt, create, and protect….whatever will allow them relief to be who they are by birth.
Whenever is the American voter about to understand Nature?
