Voter Fraud in Houston Exposes More Corruption in Obama’s Justice Department

A bunch of people, spin-off of the Tea Party volunteered to investigate voter fraud in Houston, Texas, and found trouble.  The found the fraud and, in turn, were sued.

Only in America!     The following is an article by Hans A. von Spakovsky at Pajamas Media:

“Talk about denial! A group of liberal activists is making the media rounds, assuring reporters and editors that election fraud is a fairy tale. Nothing serious, they assert, nothing to see here. Too bad for them that citizens in Houston, energized by the Tea Party movement, have formed a group called True the Vote. Their hard work has demonstrated that, in some parts of the country at least, our election system is still infested with problems.

True the Vote is composed entirely of volunteers — hundreds of them. They have pored over election records in Harris County, Texas, looking for signs of fraud. And they have found plenty. Indeed, their initial research into only a very small portion of the voter registration records has led them to ask the U.S. Justice Department’s Voting Section to conduct a federal investigation.

In a letter asking for an official inquiry, True the Vote discusses potential widespread forgery in voter application forms. For instance, it seems from the applications that someone suspiciously signs the letter “J” with a quirky “3” inside the loop. The “3” shows up in multiple signatures for different voters with the names Jenard, Jamark, Jamarcus, and Jones.

True the Vote reports that at least four noncitizens have been registered to vote in Harris County. The group provided Justice with the actual voter registration forms where applicants marked “NO” to the question: “Are you a U.S. Citizen?” The group also provided the voter registration numbers of these confessed noncitizens. Yes, astonishingly, Harris County registered them to vote anyway. They are now on the rolls and able to participate in the upcoming midterm elections.

The Help America Vote Act of 2002 was supposed to stop this from happening. But this federal legislation is only as good as the Justice Department’s willingness to enforce it. If Harris County is registering noncitizens, then it is violating numerous provisions of federal law, including those that prohibit the registration of foreigners to vote in federal elections.

True the Vote uncovered other types of fraud as well. The group forwarded to DOJ seven voter registration forms with applicant names different from the signature name. For example: Ta’mackayn Harrison’s application was signed by “Bra Kelly.” Jason King’s was signed by “Jemma Noel.” Yet Harris County inexplicably approved all of these applications. Jason King, aka Jemma Noel, is now on the voter rolls in Houston.

The citizens group also found multiple registrations for individual voters. For example, True the Vote provided the Justice Department government documents showing that at least four persons, including Jose Gomez and Victor Nickerson, had registered to vote multiple times successfully.

These problems were found by True the Vote in just a small sampling of the county’s voter registration list. How many other, similar problems would turn up in a comprehensive review? Don’t forget: every vote counts. Which also means that every legitimate vote cancelled out by a fraudulent vote should be a concern to anyone interested in fair elections and protecting the right to vote.

This sort of thing can happen only when election officials flout Section 8 of the National Voter Registration Act, which requires them to clean up their voter registration lists. But this Department of Justice seems to have no interest in enforcing these laws. In testimony before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, DOJ whistleblowers Christopher Coates and J. Christian Adams revealed that Obama Justice Department political appointee Julie Fernandes instructed the Voting Section that no such cases were to be brought. That directive gives free rein to voter registration fraud. Bogus registrants can now cast a fraudulent vote with confidence that the election police are asleep.

For years, the far left has insisted that voter fraud really doesn’t exist, or at least that claims about it are overblown. In so doing, the left has willfully blinded itself to the truth. But the arrival of True the Vote is helping expose the lies of these election fraud deniers.

Its “Army of Davids” approach brings to bear hundreds of volunteers to spend hundreds of hours examining documents and searching for patterns, like the mysterious “3” that afflicts so many letter “J’s” in Houston, or finding vacant lots at the registered addresses of multiple voters. Moreover, it means hundreds will serve as election judges and poll watchers on election day. True the Vote is the election fraud denier’s worst nightmare, because the group is helping prove definitively that fraud is real and too often overlooked by election officials.

Houston has an ACORN-like group, Houston Votes, that harvests thousands of suspect voter registration forms. If some of the fraud uncovered by True the Vote was done by deputy registers working for Houston Votes, they should be prosecuted. And it won’t be too hard to figure out — every deputy registrar that roams the community must be approved by the clerk in Harris County and is issued an identification number. Bogus applications can, and will, be traced back to the particular registrars.

Of course, this may explain why True the Vote has been hit with a lawsuit by the Texas Democratic Party, an ethics complaint by Texans for Public Justice, and another lawsuit (for defamation) by Houston Votes and the Houston lawyer behind the voter registration drive that turned in multiple problematic registration forms (Harris County estimated over 7,000). That same organization has also sued Harris County — claiming the county is barred from correcting the voter registration problems!

So has the Eric Holder-run Justice Department acted on the evidence of electoral fraud gift-wrapped, tied in a bow, and delivered to them? No. He and his partisan retinue in the Civil Rights Division have instead reportedly opened up an investigation of True the Vote!

When early voting started in Texas, liberal blogs ran scandalous headlines that True the Vote had been targeted by the Department of Justice, and related that Justice officials have started interviewing voters about the behavior of poll watchers — something confirmed by a Justice spokesman. This is curious because it seems, through leaks, to inject the DOJ into the election directly. It is all the more curious given internal DOJ limits on election-eve actions. The DOJ’s own election crimes manual, Federal Prosecution of Election Offenses, states:

Another limitation [on election investigations] affects voter interviews. Election fraud cases often depend on the testimony of individual voters whose votes were co-opted in one way or another. But in most cases voters should not be interviewed or other voter-related investigation done, until after the election is over. Such overt investigative steps may chill legitimate voting activities. They are also likely to be perceived by voters and candidates as an intrusion into the election.

The leaking of the information about DOJ’s investigation to a friendly liberal blog was even stranger, and more ethically suspect. And what a contrast between how quickly Justice announced it was investigating complaints made by the Texas Democratic Party about poll watchers, and DOJ’s complete silence about True the Vote’s request for an investigation of the voter registration fraud discovered in Harris County.

Hopefully, True the Vote will not be deterred from its investigation of registration fraud by the seemingly coordinated attempts to intimidate it by the Justice Department, the Texas Democratic Party, and Houston Votes. Fortunately, the Liberty Institute has agreed to defend True the Vote from the specious claims being made against it.

Voter fraud practitioners should have something to worry about. True the Vote may be coming to a town near you soon. Though it is focused on Harris County for 2010, it plans to go national in 2011. The model it has developed is robust, effective — and to the chagrin of the wrongdoers — completely legal. After the congressional midterms, it will hold a nationwide summit of other citizens ready to start election integrity operations in the rest of the nation.

The country could use such dedication in 2012. The Obama Justice Department has demonstrated a shocking willingness to ignore laws protecting the security and integrity of elections. That should comes as no surprise given both the increasingly partisan approach to law enforcement undertaken by this Department under Eric Holder’s leadership, and the dogged determination of Holder’s ideological comrades who deny that voter fraud occurs, or that common sense measures like voter ID are needed.

In the great American tradition of self-reliance, citizen watchdogs across the country may stand watch in 2012. If the government proves incapable of protecting electoral integrity, the people can.

The Vivian Schiller Marxist Moment Slip

I suppose there are now a majority of American college graduates who know nothing about the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.   They might not know that psychiatric ‘assistance’ was often the remedy for the many who questioned or in any way didn’t fit into the Soviet  Red Star image.  Does anyone read “1984″, George Orwell’s masterpiece anymore?

Scott Johnson reminded me of this Soviet cure for Socialist Thought errors when I read his piece in today’s powerline:  “The Schiller Syndrome”.

“Vivian Schiller is the wretched NPR executive who trashed Juan Williams for statements she declared best relegated to his psychiatrist. I detected a whiff of the punitive psychiatry employed in the late Soviet Union in Schiller’s public comment on Williams. Soviet psychiatry’s favored diagnosis for those guilty of heterodox thoughts was sluggishly progressing schizophrenia. Is Williams a victim of this malady in Schiller’s view? She clearly thinks he needs therapy to address his misguided thoughts.

At the American Spectator, Jeffrey Lord raises the question whether Schiller was in fact a fan of the Soviet Union. Lord recalls Schiller’s role in the production of Ted Turner’s glowing three-part, seven-hour Portrait of the Soviet Union CNN series in 1988. Lord quotes Schiller: “At the time, Ted Turner went through this period of deep fascination with the Soviet Union…and they hired me to be a translator/production assistant/’fixer’–which in production terms is somebody in a foreign country who ‘makes it happen.’” Now she “makes it happen” at NPR.”

Comment:  There are ugly people in the world.  Why are so many of them on the Left?   NPR’s CEO, Vivian Schiller’s video performances dealing with the firing of Juan Williams showed a very, very ugly human being in action.  “Handsome is as handsome does” is an old fashioned saying, but never, never is without its classic truth.  Her tones, her certitude, her reference to  psychiatry, her speedy clip and condescension….she must have really hated Juan Williams, or she is simply another hating Lefty.  Nazis and Soviet Party members were noted for carrying themselves exactly as Ms. Schiller did in the videos.   Have  American Marxists become that sure of themselves?

President Obama certainly is.

Another Comment:   I had two wonderful opportunities to go to the Soviet Union, once in 1966 when the dictatorship was still rather fierce and again in 1990 when upon my first five minutes  arriving in Kiev the difference between the intensity of the dictatorship had dramatically changed.   The nation was already slipping into disarray.  The vast numbers of militia and such no longer looked intimidating even confident.  They avoided whatever could be avoided as the people gathered by the thousands, twenty four hours of the day, each taking turns listing the endless names their families who had disappeared into the dark of Marxist never-never land, never heard from again.

The civility of the population was Godsent.  A few groups had poked out to write protest signs.   No one was arrested.   The great cathedral in Kiev had to be reopened.   Thousands waited in lines for blocks out of site, many with candles in hand to light a new touch with beautiful ceremonies of Orthodoxy.

Only the births of my children spiritually  overwhelmed me more.

Free at last, from a suffering unknown in horror and scope beyond  any such American experience.

For the so many who don’t know what the Soviet  softer, kinder  brand of Marxism was, let me again highly recommend everyone see the German film, “The Lives of Others.”

There are rare occasions in life when art is the window to learning superior to all others.   Such is the case with this film.  The drabness is true.   The deceit is true.  The fear existed, enough so countless tens of thousands of otherwise decent people struggling to survive co-operated with the secret police to commit crimes against humanity to enforce equality as dictated.

The story based on actual experiences, was a story of the BEST of the decades of Marxist rule to create a “Paradise of the Equal”.

The human being does what one must do, fair or foul, to survive.   However, there are always those,  the vast majority being men,  who refuse to be cowed.   Sorry, fanatic feminists, and other intolerant Democrats,  let’s write honestly here, despite your pressure for censorship in order to equalize the sexes…….a very Soviet sordid touch representative of much in the American Leftwing’s rules of political correctness.

REMEMBER:     THE FORWARD   ’end’  of the Progressives’   ‘moving forward’ IS A MARXIST DICTATORHIP TO FORCE EQUALITY ON ITS PEOPLE!   Those who progress to this end, do so to help make the world better.

Why the Leftwing Lie That Timothy McVeigh Was a Christian Terrorist?

With the firing of Juan Williams, a few Leftists supporting NPR’s  move, have referred to Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma City bomber,  as a “Christian” terrorist.   What a LIE!   Since when has he been officially so described?   So I looked up historyguy.com to review what this group might include for reasons to slaughter……to see if he had any religious feelings promoted by anyone who promised him 72 virgins upon his entry into the great beyond as his bit of sacrifice for horrendous murder.  Here is what I found:

“Timothy McVeigh, convicted and executed for the worst act of domestic terrorism in United States history, became a radicalized member of the far right-wing in the early 1990s. With fellow army veteran Terry Nichols, McVeigh conspired to destroy the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City as a blow to a federal government that they saw as an evil force.

Their blow against the government they despised killed 168 people, eight of whom were federal agents, 19 were children, mostly at a daycare facility in the building, and the rest were ordinary office workers and citizens attending to normal business.

McVeigh grew up in Pendleton, New York, the son of an auto worker. McVeigh began to delve into right-wing and racist ideas and books, a tendency which grew over the next few years. He joined the U.S. Army in 1988 after holding a series of dead-end jobs. He served in the First Gulf War as a machine gunner on a Bradley Fighting Vehicle, earning a Bronze Star for his service during that conflict.

After discharging from the Army in 1991, McVeigh became radicalized by what he saw as the actions of an oppressive government. In 1992, the FBI laid siege to the compound of white separatist and Aryan Nations sympathizer, Randy Weaver at Ruby Ridge in Idaho. The next year, federal law enforcement agencies ended the siege at the Branch Davidian cult compound with an assault ending in a catastrophic fire. Prior to the assault which ended the standoff, McVeigh traveled to Waco to act as an anti-government demonstrator and to show support for cult-leader David Koresh. McVeigh purposely chose the second anniversary of the Waco assault for his terrorist act as a message to the government.

In a letter he wrote to Fox News correspondent Rita Cosby, McVeigh attempted to justify his attack on a federal building as no different from a U.S. military air or missile strike on a government building in an enemy nation such as Serbia or Iraq. This is the statement of a person who is so alienated from his own country that he no longer recognizes his victims as anything other than an enemy target.

McVeigh read many extreme right-wing publications, including the Turner Diaries, a novel written by a Neo-Nazi named William Pierce (writing under the alias “Andrew Macdonald”), which is full of violent racist and anti-Semitic fantasies. In the book, the main character, Turner, heads a group which explodes a rented truck at FBI headquarters. McVeigh’s actions on April 19, 1995 makes the Turner Diaries into a blue print for his plans.

With his mind full of politicized hate, McVeigh drove a rented Ryder truck full of a fertilizer-based explosive toward the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City. In the subsequent blast, 168 people died, and hundreds more (at least 800), recieved wounds.

As he fled the scene of the bombing, Oklahoma Highway Patrolman Charles Hanger pulled McVeigh over and arrested him for driving without a license and carrying a concealed weapon. Within days, the connection was made between McVeigh and the man seen running from the Ryder truck prior to the bombing. He was convicted in federal court on June 2, 1997 for the murder of eight federal agents. McVeigh was executed by lethal injection on June 11, 2001 at the federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Timothy McVeigh represented a culmination of the growth and potential terror of right-wing groups such as the Aryan Nations, The Order, and other racist, anti-Semitic anti-government groups commonly lumped together under the heading “The Militia Movement.” The ideas and events which helped radicalize McVeigh; the talk of a “New World Order,” the Turner Diaries, the Ruby Ridge incident, the Waco Siege, and other supposed improprieties by the American government, also radicalized others, who, to this point, have not turned their beliefs into mass murder. The advent of the War on Terror, and the September 11th attacks have taken the public’s attention away from the right-wing militia groups, but the potential for more Oklahoma City-style attacks still exists.”

Sounds like a typical college graduate leftwinger’s analysis and warning to me, but even here there is no newer interpretations about his purpose for slaughter.  With Marxists one can never rely on the accuracy of  the past, for it is always open to review depending upon the winds of the laws of “Political Correctness” the establishment left’s standard for manipulating truth.  In the Marxist Soviet Union one of the most popular adages was: “The Future is known.  It’s the Past that keeps changing”.  So it is with the Leftwing led American public school system, universities and Democrat Party.  Marxists tend to learn from Marxists.

The American Left suggests  Timothy McVeigh was driven by his Christian beliefs to do God’s work by bombing the Oklahoma City government building when they compare his act with those terrorists who perpetrated the murders of the 3,000 on September 11, 2001.

Where is there any evidence a Christian sect or priest of any kind ordered Mr. McVeigh to commit his atrocity?  What rituals did he perform to sanctify his murders?

Imams all over the Near East and from America, Britain, Germany and so on are challenging muslims to join in murder for the sake of Allah and the reward of Allah-heaven and the comfort of virgins.  They don’t even hide it except from the Michael Bloombergs.

The American Left is presently married to  American Islam because they have a common enemy……traditional American values.

Obama’s ‘Justice” Department “Legitimizes Anti-White Racism” in Black Panthers Case

The following is an article  by Andrew Breitbart about the research done by the Washington Post into the Obama’s Justice Department’s dismissal of the 2008 voter intimidation charges against the Black Panthers.  In this Obama administration ‘Justice’ promotes  Racism against Whites!

Congratulations to the editors at the Washington Post. Seventeen months after the Eric Holder Justice Department dismissed a slam-dunk case against the New Black Panther Party for voter intimidation, the Post gets around to printing a thorough vetting of the dismissal. The story is slated for Saturday’s print edition. While other media like Breitbart/The Bigs, Fox News, the Washington Times, the Weekly Standard, Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Investors Business Daily, Pajamas Media, and Drudge have had dozens of stories on the corrupt New Black Panther dismissal, the Washington Post at last is in the game.

The story is a shocker too. The shock comes from the middle of the road and factual nature of the story.

There are small problems with the story. For one, the Washington Post is the only outlet that calls King Samir Shabazz by his old “slave name” (Shabazz’s own words) of Maruse Heath. Even Heath doesn’t call himself Heath. Of course this takes some of the sting off Shabazz’s rants against Jews and calls to kill “cracker babies in their crib.”

The Post’s decision to change a man’s name for him is controversial. It has no place.

But overall, the story is very bad news for Eric Holder. It debunks many of the myths spun by the administration. Inside DOJ sources describe deep hostility to protecting whites at Justice. DOJ sources say panther prosecutor Christian Adams never allowed his conservative views to influence his work, contradicting administration spin. And perhaps most damning of all to Holder, sources defending the administration defend the idea that whites aren’t protected by the Civil Rights laws. The latter is the blockbuster news in the Post piece.

The Post also shatters the false administration spin that only low level career lawyers had a fight among themselves: “After the Obama administration took over, high-level political appointees relayed their thoughts on the case in a stream of internal e-mails in the days leading to the dismissal.” The administration told Congress and the public a lie for over a year, and now the Washington Post even knows.

The Post’s Jerry Markon and Krissah Thompson write, “But neighbors said they view Jackson and Heath – who declined to comment – as annoyances rather than threats.” What did you expect the neighbors to say?

The Post has a major revelation, the first on the record confirmation of the attitude inside the Civil Rights Division that whites should not necessarily be protected by the civil rights laws:

“The Voting Rights Act was passed because people like Bull Connor were hitting people like John Lewis, not the other way around,” said one Justice Department official not authorized to speak publicly, referring to the white Alabama police commissioner who cracked down on civil rights protesters such as Lewis, now a Democratic congressman from Georgia.”

This is a startling admission. It is part and parcel of a wide hostility to protecting whites who are victims of racial discrimination, as Christopher Coates and Adams alleged all along. That admission is a major mistake for the administration and should be made well known before the upcoming election.

The Post gathers more gold:

Three Justice Department lawyers, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they feared retaliation from their supervisors, described the same tensions, among career lawyers as well as political appointees. Employees who worked on the Brown case were harassed by colleagues, they said, and some department lawyers anonymously went on legal blogs “absolutely tearing apart anybody who was involved in that case,” said one lawyer.

For the first time in any media, the Washington Post has cracked sources inside the DOJ familiar with what is going on. Kudos to the Post for flushing out more corroboration of the Adams and Coates testimony.

There is this money quote:

“There are career people who feel strongly that it is not the voting section’s job to protect white voters,” the lawyer said. “The environment is that you better toe the line of traditional civil rights ideas or you better keep quiet about it, because you will not advance, you will not receive awards and you will be ostracized.”

So the Post does what nobody has been able to do – obtain deep sourcing inside the Department confirming what Adams and Coates have been saying for months. This is a devastating piece of work by the Washington Post. This is a rare moment where the old print media has returned to the higher standards of years past, and reported facts. A week from an election, it couldn’t have come at a worse time for Eric Holder.”

George Soros Shores up Marxists at NPR with Donation of $1,800,000 for “New” Reporters

The following editorial  comes from Investors.com:

“Does George Soros have a bad case of Fox envy against media mogul Rupert Murdoch? Or has he decided the main reason Americans won’t embrace socialism is Fox News? Either way, he’s now buying the news.

Soros, the billionaire speculator famous for bankrolling leftist causes, recently declared he was through with politics this election season because “I don’t believe in standing in the way of an avalanche,” referring to the likely GOP victory in November.

The 80-year-old leftist didn’t earn his $14 billion fortune making bad bets. So although he’s given “only” $53,100 in 2010 to Democratic candidates and causes (and his 24-year-old son has donated $73,000), it’s worth noting that Soros has shifted his attention to influencing the media message, with his cash following.

On Oct. 18, Soros donated $1.8 million to National Public Radio to hire 100 new reporters for a project targeting state governments called “Impact of Government.”

With the news industry laying off reporters, his idea is to fill a gap in coverage with all these spare journalists. But the new jobs won’t precisely amount to truly independent ones — the reporters will have implicit obligations to Soros, who signs their paychecks.

Soros’ idea isn’t new. The model for this influence over the media via patronage journalism comes from Soros’ allies Herb and Marion Sandler who made their fortune from issuing subprime mortgages.

Leaving that business just ahead of the 2008 crash, they set up Pro Publica to conduct investigative reporting and give it away free to the mainstream media.

The strings seem to be showing on the Soros donation to NPR, too.

Days after the Soros windfall was announced, National Public Radio fired liberal news analyst Juan Williams after he expressed an inoffensive personal view on the popular Fox News Channel.

Up until then, opinions by NPR correspondents and analysts had been expressed in abundance, but Williams’ statement on Fox, because it was expressed on Fox, amounted to apostasy. The firing sends a message that Fox is beyond the pale and must be silenced.

If it sounds far-fetched, then how does one explain that Soros also made his first direct donation to Media Matters last week, reportedly at $1 million, just after donating to NPR?

Led by disgraced journalist David Brock, Media Matters is a fringe-left nuisance organization that spends much of its time trying to dig up dirt on Fox News. Its Web site actually has a whole section devoted to criticizing Fox opinions and claiming they are lies.”

Comment:  Naturally there is speculation that the donation was contingent on  Juan Williams being fired at NPR.  Timing is suspicious, but who yet knows?

There is a hint of honesty about Marxist George Soros.  Unlike most of his followers and recipients of his financial support, he doesn’t hide or deny  his Marxism.  There is no pretense here.

Charles Krauthammer Challenges NPR’s Marxist, Nina Totenberg on Juan Williams’ Firing

NPR has long been leftwing.   Whatever pimples arrive on the  American face,  NPR advertises, bloats  and gloats….a long time exercise.  I used to be a regular listener.

A central figure in its pretenses of impartiality and fairness,  is Nina Totenberg, who, I believe is classified as a “Reporter”, not a news “Analyst” a title given to Juan Williams until he was canned for expressing a personal feeling.

There are many discrpancy problems at NPR both in tone and censorship.  Charles Krauthammer challenged the hypocracy attached to the firing of Juan Williams, the opinion man who suffered the weakness of explaining a sincere feeling he had viewing those covered with muslim dress boarding a air flight which included Mr. Williams.

What is clear at NPR:   Totenberg expresses the emperor’s command, and Williams does not.

As a Marxist, Ms. Totenberg cannot help herself blabbing opinion even though accroding to title, she is supposed to be a correspondent.   Please check out the following video when the Marxist and Charles Krauthammer appear together on PBSs “Inside Washington.”

“I don’t understand the inconsistency here,” Dr. Charles Krauthammer said on PBS’s “Inside Washington” Friday night. Another guest on the panel was NPR’s Nina Totenberg, whom Krauthammer targeted for her consistent liberal bias.

“Why is it okay for Nina to express opinions as she has tartly, sharply, unashamedly and openly? And she’s an honored correspondent there; in fact, they mention your status here on ["Inside Washington"] in your biography at NPR. And Juan, because he expresses his opinions, he gets canned from NPR,” Dr. Krauthammer said.

Totenberg said she’s been put in an “awkward position” with the uproar and offered her explanation of why Williams was singled out for dismissal. “In the modern journalistic world, where people are asked to give opinions all the time whether you’re a regular on a show like this or not, if you cover a story you may be asked to appear on a television show and talk about it. I think it’s a very very difficult line to draw. And NPR tries to draw it, in my view, using rules that don’t exist anymore.”

“I have personal opinions that I will not share with you,” NPR’s Nina Totenberg said, who has not been afraid to share her opinions before. Juan’s firing was not “popular on the floor” at NPR.”

To Minnesotans Who Value Democracy….WE NEED YOUR HELP

In 2008 thousands of Minnesotans voted illegally.  The DFL Party has long supported whimsical requirements which have cheapened the vote and encourage voter fraud.

We NEED Poll challengers so Please volunteer….read the following:

“We are all busy.  Kids, school, work, other commitments.  But we are 11 days out from the most pivotal election in our lifetimes and if we don’t make time to help our hard-working conservative candidates, then we will wake up Nov 3rd even more overwhelmed by the liberal agenda in our state and in this country.  The Republican party has heard you!  We’ve put forth fantastic, conservative candidates who have been working tirelessly for months to win seats back.

It’s beyond “if you don’t vote, don’t complain”, it’s now “if you don’t act, don’t complain.”  Mark Dayton is ahead in the polls today by 3 points–we are in a position to win, but not without a lot of work in the upcoming days.

We need your help.  If you attended the Palin Bachmann Rally in April, please recall that energy and excitement and join us!  If you haven’t already done so, please click here to fulfill the pledge that you made to complete 2 volunteer shifts.  We specifically need help on Saturday, Oct 30th, Sunday, Oct 31st and Monday, Nov 1st.

Also, we have an Urgent need for Poll Challengers to volunteer in a local polling site on election day, Tuesday, Nov 2nd.”

In short, a poll challenger ensures that on election day, the election judges perform their responsibilities in compliance with state election laws.

Extensive training will be provided for persons who volunteer.  It is a pretty easy –  but very important – responsibility to ensure fair elections in Minnesota in 2010.

If you are willing to perform this role, you just need to:
1) RSVP to Guy Collins ASAP at  gacollins@comcast.net   phone -763-577-0465
2) attend one of the upcoming training sessions

A Request From Dennis Prager to All Who Believe in American Democracy!

“The most critical mid term election in  AMERICAN HISTORY!” is a Prager quote which Dennis repeats many, many times.   For all of us who sincerely believe in our American Democracy, this IS the most critical midterm election in our history.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING  MESSAGE!

From: Dennis Prager <dennisprager@dennisprager.com>

Subject: Prager Rational Guard Action Letter

My Dear Listener:
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for responding to my invitation to “sign up” with what I call the Prager Rational Guard (aka “Dennis’s Menaces”).
I apologize for not getting back to you much sooner. Aside from not having a staff to handle mail, as you may know, I had two surgeries this past summer to finally solve my sciatica problem (and a third surgery on a finger that had developed a staph infection!). I was in quite a bit of pain for the first six months of 2010, and while I somehow did the radio show, wrote my weekly column, and travelled to all my lectures (while being wheeled through airports), I could not do much more than that.
As you presumably know, I regard the upcoming election not merely as an important election but as a referendum on America’s future.
I think that the most important action you can take in the coming days is to support any of the Republican candidates for Governor, the Senate, and House listed below. This list is by no means comprehensive, but it includes men and women who are committed to making our government smaller and, as a result, our country stronger.
By clicking on the links below (hold down the Control key and then left click buttons) you can make donations and support these candidates in a variety of ways. No contribution of money or time is too small. Even a $5 or $10 contribution to a candidate (or to several candidates) matters. Those small amounts multiplied by large numbers of contributors will make an impact. But please do act now as the election is less than two weeks away. Thank you for getting involved in these critical races.

Governor:

Each of us has a role in trying to reassert the core American values – what I have labeled the American Trinity: E Pluribus Unum, In God We Trust, and Liberty. My role has been to offer clarity and intellectual ammunition in this battle. I think this is very important because ultimately this is a war of ideas. For that reason I have also started Prager University on the Internet (www.prageru.com). If you have not visited Prager University, I ask you to do so and to forward the links to the five-minute video courses to as many people as possible. We have even dubbed two courses into Spanish.
I would like to be in touch with you first and foremost to help you get these ideas out both to those who share our values, but who cannot fully articulate them, and to those who do not.
I am attaching five recent columns:
I am asking you:
1. To forward any of these and other of my articles – and Prager University courses — to as many people as possible.
2. To donate time and money to Republican candidates.
3. To join a Prager Listener Group in your area. (In the unlikely event that there isn’t one in your area, please consider starting one.) Meeting fellow listeners is a very positive experience socially as well as politically, and you know the importance I attach to making new friends. In addition, many of these groups are highly creative. For example, some have made their own July Fourth Seders.
4. To go to my website and click on “Winning in November” (on the very top right of the page, to the right of my picture). There is no money involved, solely an attempt by my radio colleagues and myself to gather a million or more signatures to one or more of the pledges.
I am deeply grateful for your responding to my request to join with me in fighting for our country’s core values. Your doing so gives me strength to continue my work.
With warmest wishes,
Dennis

Midterms Matter by EXTREMIST Newsweek’s Jonathan Alter

“Why the GOP’s agenda must be stopped”, the Far Left opinion man, of the Far Left journal, Newsweek insisted in the following article, in that very failing, but not yet comatose publication:

“Prediction is an addiction in the press corps. We can search for the key to the Keystone State with sophisticated cross tabs of projected African-American turnout for Joe Sestak in Philadelphia. We can offer the early read on early voting for Barbara Boxer in Alameda County. We can practically study the entrails of Kentucky possum to project Rand Paul’s totals among white men under 30.

But elections aren’t just about who wins. They’re about what happens when one or the other party wins. We’re so eager to promote ourselves with the smartest take on how President Obama and the Democrats got themselves in this pickle that we haven’t done a good job explaining the stakes. We manage to sever cause from effect.

Let’s say you’re an independent voter who wants to send Obama a message on Nov. 2. Have the media told you what that would say? Here’s a clue: moderate Republicans are extinct. With big wins, the Tea Party will transform itself from an insurgency into the driving force within the GOP. Gains in statehouses and legislatures will allow right-wingers to use the 2010 census to redraw district lines that will entrench them in power until 2020. Back in charge in Washington, they will likely block even centrist choices for courts. Extremist senators like Jim DeMint and Tom Coburn will move from being irritants on the fringe to players at the center of our politics.

A question for Democrats disinclined to work on congressional campaigns: do you know the GOP agenda? In brief: repeal health-care reform, so if you lose your job and your kid gets sick, you may have to sell the house; repeal financial reform, so Wall Street scammers and predatory lenders can return to doing everything they did before they wrecked the economy; maintain corporate-welfare subsidies that move jobs overseas; reduce spending by slashing education funding; and ending all clean-energy projects aimed at curbing our dependence on Mideast oil. Of course, these policies won’t cut the deficit. Republicans insist on extending $700 billion in tax cuts for the wealthy and leaving the $500 billion defense budget un-touched. Entitlements would merely be “reviewed regularly,” the GOP leadership says, which is code for doing nothing.

We’ve heard a lot of comparisons with 1994, when Newt Gingrich and the GOP last took control. But the “Contract With America,” while only two pages long, had some good ideas, like welfare and tort reform. The putative speaker, John Boehner, is the last guy who will change how Washington works. He freely admits, “I’m cozy with lobbyists” (The Washington Post, 2006), and once had to apologize for passing out checks from the tobacco industry on the House floor. His “Pledge to America” is 21 pages long, but I defy any thoughtful independent to study this document and conclude Republicans are ready to govern in another recession.

The party is powered by outrage over bailouts and the stimulus. When pressed, Republican candidates say GM could have survived without Washington. How? Liquidation would have meant the loss of a million jobs. To everyone’s surprise, the auto companies are on the mend, and the banks, despite those obnoxious bonuses, have paid back the taxpayers with interest. TARP worked! The GOP plan for job creation: cutting taxes and deregulation. We tried that in 2001 only to experience the weakest decade of job growth since the ’30s.

Republicans and independent groups (with anonymous donors) are spending millions to argue the stimulus has “done nothing.” This is false, as the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office and independent economists have at-tested. Unemployment would be north of 12 percent without it. This year more than 100 Republican members of Congress who voted against the stimulus lobbied for stimulus money for their districts or put out press releases claiming credit when the checks arrived. They’ve set a new indoor record for hypocrisy.

The depressed Democratic base needs to ask itself some questions: Do women want more representatives who oppose abortion? Do Hispanics want to see immigration reform postponed? Do young voters want college loans slashed? If they don’t, they’ll set aside whatever valid grievances they may have with Obama and mobilize.

If Democrats lose control anyway, maybe nothing too bad will happen. Obama will veto GOP bills, and politics will be paralyzed for two years as the parties jostle for 2012. But a right-wing Republican takeover of Congress and state capitals isn’t something to accept with indifference. Midterms matter, and voters tempted to skip this election should have their heads examined.”

Comment:   I certainly agree with this Marxist from Newsweek on the final sentence.  Midterms do matter, expecially when a democratic nation’s future is in jeopardy as is the case with the American Far Left presently in power.   Review the scare and hate actics these Marxists invect into the fresh air of honest debate.

Tha major issue at statke is whether the United States of American is to become a Marxist authoritarian state government be an elite which is totally beyond any ties to the people of the country.   Does this VAST GOVERNMENT EMPIRE  run by Left Wing Politically Correct bureaucrats continue to increase its size and therefore its distance from the people, or will we commoners be able to make choice regarding our well being for ourselves without the Obama crew telling us what to eat, how to think, what to study, what to speak, whom to hate, and so on and so on.

Vote on November AGAINST  MARXISM.     Vote Republican and Vote as often as Democrrats do!

Gene Simmons Military Tribute and Tomato Fights in 1942

Have you ever tried to find a top notch recording of patriotic music, American style?  I suppose if one tried long and hard enough one could be found operating deep in the bowls of the internet.

I am not that skilled.   However, at a local Best Buy four or five years ago I did pick up a good one, “God Bless America, The Ulltimate Patriotic Album” made in 1964.

“God Bless America” was owned for years by a 250 pounder, Kate Smith.  I am certain that Smith wasn’t her birth name, but no matter.   This was the song of the WAR, more than any other except for the National Anthem.  In the Spring of 1942 everyone was invited to attend patriotic singalongs at my neighborhood elementary school, Horace Mann in St. Paul Minnesota.   By that time hundreds of young men, sons from many attending, from up and down our blocks where we lived, had already disappeared into the War.

My dad, in his 40s, was deemed too old to serve, so he joined the air raid warden troop where we lived….Yes, believe it or not, an air raid warden in St. Paul, Minnesota.   I had saved his helmet for decades, but somewhere along the line, it got trashed.  He wore an arm band as well.

My mother was in the Home front nurses corps, as were so many of her neighborhood gal friends.  They were taught combat nursing skills at the Edyth Bush Theater on Cleveland and Eleanor Streets.   I was mom’s invaluable dummy upon which she practiced her developing talents.

We children would collect tin cans, rubber of any kind, newspapers for school sale and any kind of grease one could “cook up” from  the kitchen or from  the garage.

My dad had bought a second hand  Plymouth two-tone maroon and gray four door in the autumn of 1941, but by 1942 it had been put on blocks in the garage for the “duration”, as the War was often called.   Gas was rationed.  No one could get tires for replacements.

I had two “cousins” serving with the Navy in the Pacific.  They were really step-uncles, one 17 and the other 20.    What an event at the time when Dale, the young “cousin”   came home around Christmas 1942 and took my sister and me to the movies at the West Twins on Annapolis Street in West St. Paul and he wore his uniform.   We saw the movie, “Eagle Squadron” starring Robert Stack and Dianna Barrymore.  I was 8, but about the war, many of us boys were very aware of the two major fronts and news about them.   We excitedly thought that war was our future. We played with our toy soldiers, airplanes, tanks and cannons  all summer long.  and a card game called, “Zoom” by which I learned the names of our air fighters and bombers, and those  of the enemy’s.

Some of the older kids collected milk weed pods for the war effort.  Kapok was the buoyant material required for life preservers of the day.   But the Japanese, early in the war, had captured the Netherland East Indies, as Indonesia was called at  that time.   That’s  where all the kapok  had come from.  In the autumn 1944  it was time for  boys my age (10)  to do the milkweed pod collecting.    About 15 or 20 of us invaded the fields within the St. Paul city during World Series time.   We collected nearly 100 gunney sacks of the fuzzy clumps.   Adults were very pleased….and so were we.

My crowd of guys, age eight to ten,  knew the names Bougainville, Guadalcanal, Battle of the Coral Sea, Tarawa, Saipan, Guam, Singapore, the Burma Road, Truk, El Alamein, Tobruk, Messina, Palermo, Anzio, Stalingrad, the Alcan Highway, Attu and Sitka, and high on the list of our play was the American victory at Midway.   Girls played paper dolls and skipped rope.

We would invent all sorts of systems where we would bomb our toy boats.   In the winter especially in March and April when snow was still everywhere hard and structured, we boys would destroy these  great “cities” of ice with ice and snow bombs, until all was flattened, just as we had seen done to enemy cities while watching Movietone News, or the March of Time at the Saturday afternoon matinees at Highland Theater.

Sword fighting with broom sticks and certain tree limbs, lasted for a month or two during one summer, but the mothers  got together and put a stop to it  for fear “someone will knock and eye out”.

It was about the only thing they had to stop in those days, except one  more memorable.  Ray Nelson and Billy Westlund had climbed up to the roof of a neighbor’s garage and found some loose shingles.   Whereupon these, my two best summer buddies, decided they would see who could sail the loose ones the farthest from their roof top perch.  Ray was older and very athletic so I am certain he won…..but they kept on sailing shingles in every direction, including eventually the ones that had been more firmly attached to the roof.

Most of the shingles disappeared off of the roof to  join the lawns nearby.

Mr. Jahnke, owner of the garage and lawn, a man of negative humor, stopped by my house and told my mother that I had done it.  I barely knew the man.  For some reason or another mom  didn’t seem to accept his charge.   I was at the front door when he made the accusation and strongly denied I had anything to do with it and honestly didn’t know who did.  (Neither Ray nor Billy were malicious.)

I knew what shingles were, but I don’t think I knew they could be detached from a roof.  (I was already into gardening and landscaping, folks, not on top of roofs.   I also feared heights.)

Mr. Jahnke called later and said the boys across the street had confessed.  I was in the clear which made me rather a hero for the day or maybe an hour at home.  He later gave me a dime for the “insult” of accusing me.  (That was big money!  It meant I had just enough for the movie on Saturday.)

War is Hell, but at the home front life  was a lot of fun in those days.  We  kids would always invent something to do, often with a war twist.   Snowball fights.  Forts needed to be built and destroyed.   Tomato fights.   Scaling the undersides of bridges attempting to cross the Mississippi like troops  did on the Western front…..that scared me, but never my friend,  Ray Nelson.

I had our Victory Garden to tend to and truly loved every minute of it until October, when the snows would begin in those days and I had to salvage the carrots, brussels sprouts, potatoes and parsnips in that miserable weather.   I would pray for a real blizzard, one too overwhelming for me to collect anything.

We grew any vegetable possible.  I especially liked the cornstalk areas where I could hide with my toy rifle and pick off the crows pretending they were Stukas or Zeros.  “Tyou, tyou….got ‘em…..Tyou, tyou, got another!”   There were always two “tyous”, but  I never knew why.

I think it was the gold starred flags on neighborhood windows which signified a son killed in the war.   The silver star announced he was serving.  Mrs. Landmark’s son had died.  I had to walk passed the  emblem on her front window every day on my way to school.  I didn’t like the feeling he was gone forever.   Occasionally, I’d walk on the other side of the street to avoid my sadness.   He was 18.

These military songs still make tears come to my eyes every time I hear them.  So click on and see what happens to you:

A Note about God Bless America.   Of course we all knew the wonderful sentiment and music was written by Irving Berlin, an American of Jewish immigration.  There is more to the “hymn” than the moving lyrics.  Mr. Berlin composed a spoken introduction to accompany the hymn.  He wrote:

“While the storm clouds gather…..Far across the sea

Let us swear allegiance to a land that’s free

Let us all be grateful for a land so fair.

As we raise our voices…….in a solemn prayer….

God Bless America……Land that I love…..

Stand besire Her, and Guide Her……
