David Carr Makes an Ass out of Himself, which is Easy to Do with Bill Maher

A few paragraphs beyond is an article by John Hinderaker.   John lives in Minnesota, but I think his heritage is “out East”, or at least I believe he attended Dartmouth……which in my prejudice…..is enough to poison the thinking American  mind.

John confesses to be a former lefty loony……So do I.

John is also apparently  Jewish which makes him more suspect as a danger to American freedoms and civility.  But he is a conservative, and a rational one…..so there is an incongruity here.

So many of the most obnoxious Lefties in America are Jewish and happen to live or have lived ‘out East’.    Their general lack of civility, in my thinking, is that so few of this  tribe have ever tilled the Earth and relied on neighbors for assistance rather than a labor  union or a political party.   These folks are among the urban tribes who have battled it out for self preservation.   Their enemies, real or perceived, have been  Christians.    Most  folks who still farm or live in the more neighborly confines of small town America are still Christians.    Leftwing Jewish  hatred, disgust, and ignorance of  Christians, and therefore, today, small town and rural Americans is a traditional disorder with any clans which have been confined to the cement parts of America to develop their antiAmericanisms.

That hasn’t been  good  either for Jews or for America.

If there is a tribal community in our America that is more bipolar than its Jewish community, NAME it!

The sickly have invented Murder Incorporated,  and prospered in crimes of all kinds.    The sickly have even conspired against America throughout the 1930s and 1940s  spying  in the name of Soviet ‘freedom and equality’.  The sickly have rallied around the fangs of tyrannical Marxism both in Europe and here in America.   Few groups of Americans are more hateful and greater enemies of American democracy than today’s Leftwing college educated American Jew.   This American tribe has a selective memory with selective knowledge.

They run the Obama steam engine….oops, that dates me…….’teleprompter’.    ‘They’ in the television, news, education, JUSTICE, and entertainment industries….at the higher levels, the ones that count.     ‘They’ may be in the business world selling goods and running companies or ruining them in courts, but something else produced Milton Friedman, Jonah Goldberg, Charles Krauthammer, Mark Steyn, and the best of all of today’s Americans , in my  Minnesota opinion, Dennis Prager.

Few people personify this collective of America’s mouthier  enemies than Noam Chomsky and Bill Maher, gentlemen of roughly the same genre……Barney Frank, as well, and Anthony Weiner of recent public diatribe skills now temporarily curbed.      We in modern Minnesota have given the country Al Franken for our contribution to Lefty pansemitism.

I went to an elementary and secondary school with a large Jewish enrollment.  This was a time long before major Marxism hit  the Democrat Party.   I had never met a Republican Jew……until  I started my own business twenty years ago.

I am sure there must be some between our American coastlines……but I have never met an obnoxious, in you face, arrogant, Christian hating,   hostile and hysterical, censoring Jew who was conservative.    They must have other worries about American life than hating people……and, like Bill Maher,  feeling superior for doing so.

This Left  is the American tribe of the Bill Mahers.    It is not a healthy tribe.   It does not produce healthier Americans……but it makes them some money in organizing a Marxist America.

Why this sharing of such  observations?

One is self interest…..I don’t know what I would do intellectually  if I hadn’t met a mind like Dennis Prager’s….and Milton Friedman’s, or the calm assuredness sans hysteria of Charles Krauthammer.   I am a long time fan of Ed Koch….way out here in Minnesota….he had a fan.    From this distance I see him as a  personable, bright and creative and wonderfully human…..seemed to be a good man with lively, not Jewish Lefty mouthings like Charles Schumer’s  at nauseum.

What an embarrassment it would be to admit to conservatism, if these Lefty creatures were the public ‘us’.

The other is respect…..my special  respect for those who intellectually develop and maintain  their honesty and integrity despite all of the pressures from their own tribe to think, hate,  and act as ONE.

There  is such a small step from traditional  Leftwing Jewishness to Marxism.   There would be so many settings for the cooperating to fit in for the sake of fitting in.

I have never met John Hinderaker.   I enjoy reading  his asides and explanations and the topics he chooses which insult him as they do me.    He is a tad good Minnesota hokey, which makes me feel quite at home in Minnesota where I like to be.

My daughter lives on Manhattan and has done so for more than a decade.   She didn’t like Minnesota…..It wasn’t sophisticated enough.      Yet, she is a good person, bright but not particularly knowledge educated.     Teaches ballet and has been easterned.

I have my own areas of some expertise, one in particular which defines me.   I am good at what I do in a field of art, if not business.   I have been very blessed, having had a good life and three off spring.   I have been a conservative for only thirty years and with it came a good measure of my gratitude and happiness.  I have been lucky.

About six years ago, the last time I visited my super lefty daughter in New York, we were conversing about success in life.   She has no idea what I do or how well I do it, except that I still live in Minnesota.   Our conversation, a very pleasant one, elicited this following comment from her, whom I love:

“Dad, you know you could have really made something of yourself if only you would have come to live in New York  (City implied).   Hmmmm.   I have never really thought of myself as a failure.  I deeply love what I do for a living and still do facing age 77.     But, my Anne had a good heart behind the words that conveyed her conviction.

But, she’s a New Yorker now.

David Carr and the repulsive Bill Maher are New Yorkers…….my daughter is a Lefty, but not a  mouthy Lefty on the make as this pair seems to be.

PS……Israel, like America, is a struggling democracy.    Sorry, lefties.   I support Israel in all of its efforts to remain free and independent as a Jewish state.   Sorry!

No one who has lived through the last forty years can be surprised when a New York Times reporter reveals his contempt for those who don’t share his cultural biases; especially, against those like me who live in the “middle places.” But when Times reporter David Carr blurted out that “middle places” like Kansas and Missouri are the land of “the low-sloping foreheads,” even the jaded took notice. Ed Driscoll has a good roundup on Pajamas Media. Carr’s moment of truth occurred on Bill Maher’s repellent television show; here is the video:

Carr is an interesting case. He is from Minnesota. It is not clear whether Minnesota is part of the land of the low-sloping foreheads or not; perhaps we are too far north. The subject that gave rise to Carr’s insult was Chris Christie’s supposedly ill effect on New Jersey’s wonderful system of public education. Certainly average SAT and ACT scores do not support any claim of superiority for New Jersey’s education system over those in the “middle places.” (Bear in mind that the principal variable in such averages is the percentage of students in any state who take the test.)

David Carr is a former drug addict who wrote a memoir about his comeback from the lowest depths to which a human being can sink. One might think that such experiences would generate a certain humility toward the unhip; in this case, apparently not. This is Carr writing about his own role as a journalist; or, if you will, a pretend journalist:

Even the most tradition-bound journalists would concede that while watching the world spin, they like to nudge it every once in a while. Why, after all, would someone spend their professional life enmeshed in the civic conversation unless they had a stake in it somewhere? But what is emerging is more of a permanent crusade, where information is not only power, but a means to a specific end.

As content providers increasingly hack their own route to an audience, it’s becoming clear that many are less interested in covering the game than tilting the field.

Just kidding. Carr was describing–or thought he was, anyway–Andrew Breitbart and Tucker Carlson (!). But everyone knows that the New York Times, as much as any media organization, is “less interested in covering the game than tilting the field.”

In today’s media world, things happen fast. Carr has already apologized for his moment of truth:

nytimes David Carr @carr2N says:”Middle Places” Home Of “Low-Sloping Foreheads” on Bill Maher.

carr2n replies: yep. Stuck in the naughty corner for the foreseeable future. #MyBad

  1. Unless i missed it, you should point out that MN had the only conservative republican senator. Norm Coleman. The other 15 jewish senators were all liberal Socialists. Now i think that number may be 16 if we include Al ( the Coleman replacement).

  2. I do enjoy listening to the Bill Marr show, will check it out to hear the comments .
