North Dakota Almost on the Oil Production Map

Oil Production Keeps Recession at Bay in North Dakota

Oil production in the Bakken shale formation is making unemployment virtually nonexistent in North Dakota.  With 200 rigs pumping 440,000 barrels of oil per day, the state’s unemployment rate is holding at 3.5 percent.  Many of the jobs pay exceptionally well, with high school graduates making more than $100,000 per year, says the Heartland Institute.

  • Oil production in North Dakota now rivals that of OPEC member Ecuador, which produces 485,000 barrels per day.
  • The North Dakota legislature is using some of the state’s oil revenue to fund $1.2 billion in infrastructure improvements, including building roads and schools to accommodate the many people bringing their families when they move to the state to work.

One of the primary beneficiaries of this oil boom has been public schools.

  • The state legislature has directed $340 million in oil-related revenues to public schools during the next two years.
  • Other oil revenues will be fund a disaster relief fund and enable a reduction in property taxes.

To preserve oil-related funds, the state legislature has directed 30 percent of the funds from the state’s 6.5 percent oil extraction tax be sent to the state’s Legacy Fund.

  • The Legacy Fund cannot be touched until 2017, when accrued interest will become available for spending measures.
  • Principal can be spent only if two-thirds of the legislature agrees to do so, and no more than 15 percent of the principal can be spent in any biennium.

Most of the Bakken shale production is occurring on private land, but analysts and state legislators fear the federal the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) may nevertheless seek to shut it down.  EPA is currently investigating hydraulic fracturing (fracking) production techniques, which are utilized in shale oil production.

Newt Nukes CNN’s John King on Ex’s Publicity Stunt!

I do admit that I’d love to see a showdown at OK Corral between Saber Tooth  Tiger Newt and  Tweety Bird Barack in full view with the public.

All the paste and glue,  the sleeze of mouth and memory oozing from the American president’s every noise and gesture  exposed without teleprompter to this wiles okf this  testy old man, this  bright, quick mind and well educated American seasoned politician who aims for the jugular when aroused by  fools  and the dishonest…..now that would be a television show  worth watching!

John King goes into action against Newt Gingrich……..Click below and hang on folks, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!

The Power of the Headline to Distort the News…this time the culprit is RealClearPolitics

RealClearPolitics is a good place for a variety of up-to-the- minute political, science, and education  articles gathered  for public view, ranging from the many absurd at the Huffington Post  to  those  of Charles Krauthammer’s  reasoning.

Below is a video of a moment in the yesterday’s  South Carolina  televised debate when Mitt Romney is asked by a ‘gotcha’  question posed by a standard lefty media ‘newsman’ trying to catch the Governor by using the candidate’s  dad as a model ‘ideal’ as a weapon to embarrass.

The Governor being more a business man than a shrewd testy politician like Newt Gingrich, or a thoroughly dishonest and disingenuous  one like Barack Hussein Obama, smiled and answered ‘Maybe”, and followed up with some possibilies , followed by a smattering of heckling and a boo or two which elicits the following headline for the realclearpolitics video below:

“DEBATE AUDIENCE BOOS ROMNEY OVER TAX RETURNS”…………..and the sub-head which  roughly repeats, emphasizing  the same negative,  “CROWD HECKLES MITT ON TAX FORMS”

The following is the script for the video presented by realclearpolitics accompanying the  ‘boos and heckles’ of these headlines.

When asked if he would released 12 years of tax returns like his father, George Romney, did during his presidential run, Mitt Romney says “maybe.”

“I don’t know how many years I’ll release,” he said. “I’ll take a look at what our documents are.” Some in the audience began to boo and heckle at this point. “And I’ll release multiple years. I don’t know how many years, but I’ll be happy to do that.”

He goes on to say that he’s “not going to apologize for being successful.”

“I didn’t inherit money from my parents. What I have, I earned. I worked hard, the American way. I’m going to be able to talk to President Obama in a way no one else can that’s in this race right now about how the free economy works, what it takes to put Americans back to work and make sure he understands that this divisiveness, that dividing Americans between 99 and one is dangerous. We are one nation under God.”

Those who have studied  journalism and/or  America’s habits  of reading news items,  know  Americans don’t like to read the news and so scan for a few words which will give them the gist of the article.   Yes, I do this once in awhile  too, I confess.   It’s a human thing…..we’d rather get on with something besides  reading news articles.   Words past the first sentence or two often  run into the boredom from  too much information.   We have places to go to and people to see.

Why was there no mention that Mitt Romney received enthusiastic applause three or four times when he expanded his answer to the gotcha question?

Conservatives are used to  bigotted mass media’s bad habits…..especially Republican politicians.   Businessmen don’t want to insult or in anyway be impolite to their public.   They have been taught to be polite.  They are likely to smile while searching for the proper good for business answer.   Most successful businessmen want to be liked and  work hard to develop a good relationship with clients based on honesty, trust.

Even  America’s devious Marxist Leftwingers  in government and the voters who elect them seek to do their daily life’s  business with the most honest businessmen and women……who are, by the way still the vast majority of the American people.

Lefty politicians in America have been propagandized to believe they are God’s children…..even though not many lefties are actually interested in God except during election or re-election time.    Be witness to president Obama when he decides to turn one his God moods for public display.

Bill Clinton was frequently seen hauling around a Bible for the press to photograph and prove  his Christianity to the voter.   Besides, he’d quote a verse or two for extra emphasis especially during his many activities with his many  female friends and others.

God was frequently advertised on the Clinton sleeve.    The American media lapped up God off of the Clinton sleeve.

George W. Bush, who was honestly  churched, who was moved by an epiphany leading him to his religious life,  was chastised and ridiculed for such foolishness ….proof of his primitive cowboy thinking, his general   ignorance.

President Bush never wore  his God on his sleeve which added top volume to lefty noise during his days in Washington.

Democrat Man, Warren Buffet Joins Obama in his Attack or “Fix” on Congress

*Congressional Reform Act of 2011*_

The following  listing of  ‘reforms’ allegedly recommended by Warren Buffet is  now being circulated  around the country.   Mr. Buffet, most interestingly, did not add any recommendations to make the presidency more responsive to the people and Congress as well as the Federal Constitution, and therefore the Courts to protect us from active Marxists such as president Obama who may be dedicated to compromise American culture and influence both home and abroad.

I would never sign any such recommendations during our Obamarule era, although I certainly agree with all of  the implied complaints against these  lulus Congressmen and women who find Congress’ comforts delicious for their lifetime, unless there were a harness around Marxist presidents such as Barack Hussein Obama who seem to ignore the Constitution when in the mood.  Members of Congress should not receive benefits unequal or unavailable to the general population.    Let’s start with those and see what we can get, however.

Forty years of Barney Frank running a committee in the House is enough to derail anyone’s confidence in representative  government.   Read the following reforms sent by Bruce Taber:

“In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed  around.

_*Congressional Reform Act of 2011*_

1. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they’re out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the
American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.  Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.

Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their
term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Don’t you think it’s time?

If you agree with the above, pass it on. If not, just delete.
You are one of my 20+ – Please keep it going, and thanks.”

Communist George Soros’ Money Shows Up in South Carolina

Hey, Look Whose Money Turned Up

Sponsoring the Southern Republican

Leadership Conferenc!

by Bryan Preston   at    Pajamas Media

(Note:  Spreading his usual antiAmerican this Hungarian Communist, billionaire George Soros is funding the overthrow of American institutions in a variety of ways.   The item on this agenda discovered withing the Republican primary in South Carolina  is the Marxist attack on the Nation’s Electoral College to destroy the identity of the fifty states to allow authoritarian Marxism to rule by decree from Washington.   This Soros Plan is called “Support Popular Vote”.
Communist Soros is a major financial backer of  Barack Hussein Obama and a long list of antiAmerican agencies.

As Roger mentioned in his earlier post, he and I are on the ground in Charleston, South Carolina, for tonight’s debate and the primary on Saturday. Tonight’s debate is hosted by the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, which is also meeting here during the primary weekend. Take a look at its sponsor page. Among leading lights of the conservative firmament, from the Washington Times to the Franklin Center to GOPAC and the NRA, is this group:

That’s the logo for National Popular Vote. Though many Republicans have signed onto National Popular Vote’s goal of undoing the Electoral College at the state level, its funding is coming almost entirely from the left, according to the Weekly Standard:

[John] Koza—who hit the jackpot when he patented the scratch-off lottery ticket and then convinced states to sell them—has reportedly pledged $12 million to his organization. Koza has given tens of thousands of dollars to various Democratic Party committees and liberal candidates; he was an Al Gore elector in 2000. New York businessman Tom Golisano, who has also pledged millions to NPV, is quick to point out that he is a registered Republican—even though he supported John Kerry and gave a cool $1 million to the Democratic National Convention in 2008. The organizational support behind NPV is similarly lopsided, coming almost exclusively from left wing groups such as Common Cause, the American Civil Liberties Union, FairVote, and the League of Women Voters. A George Soros-funded group, DEMOS, has supported NPV, and Soros’s son, Jonathan Soros, has written in favor of the plan.

Read the rest of the WS story. It notes that the RNC has already taken a look at NPV’s proposals and rejected them, and makes a good case against it idea’s practical effects and its constitutionality.

Turns Out Bain Capital is a Democrat Party Capitalist

“Dems receive more campaign cash from Bain Capital than Republicans”
by Rick Moran    at The American Thinker:

“Nothing like a little schadenfreude to get the day started. The Hill:

Democrats have accepted more political donations than Republicans from executives at Bain Capital, complicating the left’s plan to attack Mitt Romney for his record at the private equity firm.

During the last three election cycles, Bain employees have given Democratic candidates and party committees more than $1.2 million. The vast majority of that sum came from senior executives.

Republican candidates and party committees raised over $480,000 from senior Bain executives during that time period.

Recipients include Democratic senators facing tough reelection races this year, such as Jon Tester (Mont.), Claire McCaskill (Mo.), Sherrod Brown (Ohio) and Bill Nelson (Fla.).

The Hill reviewed contributions made from the 2008, 2010 and 2012 cycles.

Romney has collected more money from Bain Capital employees than any federal candidate since the beginning of 2007, amassing more than $166,000 in contributions. He took more than $84,000 from Bain employees in the first three quarters of 2011.

But President Obama received a sizable share as well. He has accepted more than $80,000 from Bain employees since the beginning of 2007. Bain Capital employees gave $27,500 to Obama during the first three quarters of 2011.

I doubt that returning the money will fool anyone. The fact is, Democrats have been outraising the GOP among financial services companies by a large margin and the Dems eagerly accepting contributions from Bain and their executives is just part of that.

It won’t stop Obama from going after Romney for being “rich.” But I’ll bet mentions of Bain by the Democrats will begin to fade very quickly.”
