Another Note from My Favorite Norseman….Erik Paulsen, My Congressman

Dear Friends:

You may have heard that the Obama campaign said they were switching off the teleprompter in order for the President to be more “extemporaneous” and stay better in touch with voters.

Well, last week the President used the opportunity to really show the country how out of touch he really is.  Not only does he continue to advocate the virtues of higher taxes on the people he believes deserve to pay even more to the government, he basically admitted he doesn’t understand the first thing about small business or creating jobs.

At a campaign stop in Roanoke, Virginia, the President said;

“…look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own…  There are a lot of smart people…  Let me tell you something – there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there…If you’ve got a business – you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”

Every week, I talk to small business owners who have taken the risk to start something.  Many have invested their life savings, and often wonder if they will be able to make the next payroll.  It is these entrepreneurs that create jobs, not the government.

I will continue working hard to help small business and our nations job creators. Less taxation, less regulation, and less litigation are good places to start.

 Best regards,

Comment:    It is very likely Sir Obama was referring to his own political experience when he made his profound Roanoke statement …If you’ve got a business – you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”……..

You see he again  was confined to his own insular world.   Obama moved into  the political business after a few years peddling Marxism at Columbia saying a few words to students about the American Constitution.    Think of all the people in Hollywood, the mainstream press, the Chicago sleaze, the California entitled, the federal unions  these  helpers had to coordinate to help cheat, con, lie, bribe to promote Obama to the presidency.

He had this network in mind when he  was pleading without teleprompter for  understanding his political agenda while in Roanoke the other day.

Like nearly all Marxist-Democrats, especially from the American Big Cities, they are certain Marxists invented government to teach man how to cook his food.

MARCO RUBIO FOR VICE PRESIDENT!

Few politicians are so quick, so accurate, facile  and factual, so knowing, to state so directly and briefly the status of Obama corruption, the both mental and political as this young Senator from Florida.

And he has a real story to tell, not a falsehood like Obama’s creation.

Professor Obama should be in the Stocks for his Stupid Claim “You didn’t Build IT”

Krauthammer: “You Didn’t Build It Should Be Hung Around Obama Until End Of His Presidency”

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: I think Obama has made the gaffe of the year when he said if you created a business, you didn’t build it. That phrase, ‘you didn’t build it’ should be hung around Obama until the end of his presidency.

I read the totality of the statement and it’s worse if you read it all. Essentially, he has a view that is antithetical to view that the majority of the Americans have, which is that enterprise, initiative of the markets are what drive American wealth and excellence and achievements. Government is parasitic on that and lives off the excess wealth in the form of taxation.

Obama has view at the heart of American excellence and achievement is government, not enterprise. And I think what Romney ought to do is take the headline in today’s lead editorial in the Wall Street Journal, ‘Solyndra versus Staples.’ And he has to have a simple slogan, Romney, which is, ‘Obama and his administration gave you Solyndra, using your money incidentally. I and my colleagues in the free enterprise system gave you Staples with all the jobs and all the wealth and all the accrued wealth it gave to the foundations with the pension and the universities that invested with us in those enterprises.’

Has Obama Gone Nuts? Claims: “I Tried To Only Make Promises That I Could Keep”

Has this foreigner to the throne have no memory……no sense of true self awareness….?

Obama’s Marxism is showing in Roanoke Rant

Rosen: Obama’s Roanoke rant

by Mike Rosen…..Denver Post

The teleprompter must have been out of commission when President Obama, speaking off the cuff, stuck his foot in his mouth at a campaign rally in Roanoke, Va., last Friday. You know someone is in trouble when his flacks, in damage-control mode, are forced to explain “what the president meant to say.” Despite the best efforts by campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt to recast Obama’s remarks, he said what he said.

“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.”

The hell they did! You made it happen. It’s true that no man is an island and, of course, government is a factor. If it weren’t for the U.S. military in World War II, we might all be speaking German or Japanese now. And, yes, there’s infrastructure paid for with taxes, and a legal system to enforce contracts. Although there were many kids in that great teacher’s classroom, you may be the only entrepreneur who emerged, the one with the inspiration and talent to build your own business; to risk a second mortgage on your home for startup capital; to work countless hours to get it off the ground; to run the obstacle course of government bureaucrats to get the required permits and licenses; and to take the job home with you every night.

What Obama called our “unbelievable American system” was founded on individual liberty, private enterprise and limited government. That was the engine that propelled our economy to world dominance from the 19th century industrial revolution onward. Government was miniscule then by today’s standards. Even by the roaring 1920s, federal outlays were a mere 3 percent of economic output. Today, big government has grown to 25 percent of GDP and we’re deeply in debt.

Henry Ford mass produced automobiles long before the infrastructure of paved highways. The likes of Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are those who rise above the crowd. Their contributions were the result of individual initiative that ultimately created more wealth for the collective than it did for themselves.

This is all a blind spot for Barack Obama, the student, community organizer, law-school lecturer and politician. He’s had no life experience in the world of commerce. In his mind, business is something to be mistrusted, regulated and taxed. He takes production of wealth for granted. His joy is in the redistribution of it. And he sees government as the utopian solution to all our problems.

That mentality came through in the wording of his non-scripted populist rant in Roanoke, where he portrayed government as the mainspring of human progress. It’s not. I wouldn’t call government a “necessary evil.” It is necessary but not necessarily evil, as long as it’s kept under control as our founders intended. In places like Nazi Germany, the former Soviet Union, North Korea and far too many others, when government controls society, it does become evil.

Intrinsic in the trajectory of Obama’s political agenda is the expansion of government in everything from health care to energy to business — everything but defense. And his flawed vision equates society with the state. But the state isn’t society. It’s a subset of society.

This nation is much more than our government. In the words of Arthur Shenfield, “A society cannot be free if it is synonymous with the state. For if it were, all human activity would not only be governed by law, it would also be prescribed and licensed by law, which is the meaning of totalitarianism.”

Our American Intellectual Hero……Charles Krauthammer

One of my best friends, Jan DeSirey, who worked with our Minnesota Prager Discussion group during its ascendancy, sent me the following  biography of this American Whizkid Hero from Canada, as I recall.     I met his writing when I used to subscribe to the New Republic in the 1980s, still a liberal, but one who voted for Ronald Reagan in 1980.

I discovered Dennis Prager on Salem Radio upon recommendation of another very good friend, Steve Levin, in October 2004…..and have been glued to his presentations since then when he  described presidential candidate, John F. Kerry as that man dressed  in a totally empty suit.

He certainly had that right…..and has been right on  on every topic I can think of ever since.

Charles Krauthammer and Dennis Prager are the two folks I am devoted to as standards to measure my Americana quotient…..that is, all the principles I find so winsome about our American experiment since 1776.     If I ever find  sharp disagreement with either of them, it would most likely be that somewhere I had made a wrong  turn…..and I don’t even smoke cigars.

Dr. Krauthammer is frequently on the Fox News Channel. He is an M.D.   A friend went to hear Charles Krauthammer. He listened with 25 others in a closed room. What he says here is NOT 2nd-hand but 1st. The ramifications are staggering for us, our children and their children. Last Monday was a profound evening. Dr. Charles Krauthammer spoke to the Center for the American Experiment. He is a brilliant intellectual, seasoned & articulate. He is forthright and careful in his analysis and never resorts to emotions or personal insults. He is NOT a fear monger nor an extremist in his comments and views. He is a fiscal conservative and has received a Pulitzer Prize for writing. He is a frequent contributor to Fox News and writes weekly for the Washington Post.
The entire room was held spellbound during his talk. I have summarized his comments, as we are living in uncharted waters economically and internationally.
Even 2 Dems at my table agreed with everything he said! If you feel like forwarding this to those who are open minded and have not drunk the Kool-Aid, feel free….
Summary of his comments:
1. Mr. Obama is a very intellectual, charming individual. He is not to be underestimated. He is a cool customer who doesn’t show his emotions. It’s very hard to know what’s behind the mask. The taking down of the Clinton dynasty was an amazing accomplishment. The Clintons still do not understand what hit them. Obama was in the perfect place at the perfect time.
2. Obama has political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton. He has a way of making you think he’s on your side, agreeing with your position, while doing the oppositePay no attention to what he SAYS; rather, watch what he DOES! 3. Obama has a ruthless quest for power. He did not come to Washington to make something out of himself but rather tochange everything, including dismantling capitalism. He can’t be straight forward on his ambitions, as the public would not go along. He has a heavy hand and wants to level the playing field with income redistribution and punishment to the achievers of society. He would like to model the USA to Great Britain or Canada . 4. His three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION and NATIONAL HEALTHCARE by the Federal government. He doesn’t care about the auto or financial services industries but got them as an early bonus. The cap and trade will add costs to everything and stifle growth. Paying for FREE college education is his goal. Most scary is his healthcare program because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000 people to a Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go through the roof. The only way to control costs is with massive RATIONING of services, like in Canada … God forbid! 5. He has surrounded himself with mostly far-left academic types. No one around him has

ever even run a candy store. But they are going to try and run the auto, financial, banking and other industries. This obviously can’t work in the long run. Obama is not a socialist; rather he’s a far-left secular progressive bent on nothing short of revolution. He ran as a moderate but will govern from the hard leftAgain, watch what he DOES, not what he says.

6. Obama doesn’t really see himself as President of the United States but more as a ruler over the world. He sees himself above it all, trying to orchestrate & coordinate various countries and their agendas. He sees moral equivalency in all cultures. His apology tour in Germany and England was a prime example of how he sees America as an imperialist nation that has been arrogant, rather than a great noble nation that has at times made errors. This is the first President,
ever , who has chastised our allies and appeased our enemies!7. He is now handing out goodies. He hopes that the bill (and pain) will not come due until after he is reelected in 2012. He would like to blame all problems on Bush, from the past, and hopefully his successor in the future. He has a huge ego and Dr. Krauthammer believes he is a narcissist.8. Republicans are in the wilderness for a while but will emerge strong. Republicans are pining for another Reagan but there will never be another like him. Krauthammer believes Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty & Bobby Jindahl (except for his terrible speech in February) are the future of the party. Newt Gingrich is brilliant but has baggage. Sarah Palin is sincere and intelligent but needs to really be seriously boning up on facts and info if she is to be a serious candidate in the future. We need to return to the party of lower taxes, smaller government, personal responsibility, strong national defense and State’s Rights.

9. The current level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous. We are spending trillions that we don’t have.
This could lead to hyperinflation, depression or worseNo country has ever spent themselves into prosperity. The Media is giving Obama, Reid and Pelosi a Pass because they love their agenda. But eventually the bill will come due and people will realize the huge bailouts didn’t work, nor will the stimulus package. These were trillion-dollar payoffs to Obama’s allies, unions and the Congress to placate the left, so he can get support for #4 above.10. The election was over in mid-September when Lehman brothers failed, fear and panic swept in, we had an unpopular President, and the war was grinding on indefinitely without a clear outcome. The people are in pain and the mantra of change caused people to act emotionally. Any Dem would have won this election; it was surprising it was as close as it was.

11. In 2012, if the unemployment rate is over 10%, Republicans will be swept back into power. If it’s under 8%, the Dems continue to roll. If it’s between 8-10%, it will be a dogfight. It will all be about the economy. I hope this gets you really thinking about what’s happening in Washington and Congress. There is a left-wing revolution going on, according to Krauthammer, and he encourages us to keep the faith and join the loyal resistance. The work will be hard but we’re right on most issues and can reclaim our country before it’s far too late.
Do yourself a long term favor. Send this to all who will listen to an intelligent assessment of the big picture. All our futures and children’s futures depend on our good understanding of what is really going on in DC and our action pursuant to that understanding!!

It is What Marxists Do….Attack Success to Destroy Success to Establish Marxist Equality

DEAR AMERICAN CITIZEN, TO WHAT  DO YOU THINK THE PRGRESSIVES ‘PROGRESS’  PROGRESSES

Didn’t you learn much about that when you were matriculating from class to class at university?

How about listening a bit more closely to your president,  Barack Hussein Obama.

How about spending a bit of time reviewing his past, his education, the people he hung around with, his close friends, his mentors,  his Father Figures such as the Racist preacher, Jeremiah Wright, claime to be such for the twenty two years Barack attend the racist temple.

Mr. Obama spews against Americans successful in private enterprise…..They are greedy, he reports………He prefers the Solindra ones…..the ones who swindle  billions from the American taxpayers for Obama’s causes.

Enter Mitt Romney:

Romney: When You Attack Success You Will See Less Success

(All Marxist government dictatorships cherish and so nurture a bovine society without successess outside government PARTY domains.)

Didn’t you ever study Soviet Government and Culture……Liberty’s enemy for over seven decades……and enjoying a rebirth in Obama America.

As Obama Sleazes Himself Up for his Campaign, Romney Getting Good Reviews

Has Mitt Romney found his voice?

“The estimable John Podhoretz thinks he has and, as we know, so does the estimable John Hinderaker. Podhoretz writes:

The president’s “you didn’t build that” statement has not only framed the race between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney exactly as Romney needed, it has transformed Romney’s campaign. He gave a very good speech last week at the NAACP convention, but even the strength of that performance was as nothing next to what he’s done over the past two days. I’ve now watched Romney’s speeches yesterday and today centering on the remark and its meaning, and what I’m seeing is a Mitt Romney come alive—or at least, a Romney new to me. He has always been articulate and with a command of facts and figures, but the distanced awkwardness that accompanied them has suddenly vanished. In their place is a loose, fluid, confident, and passionate spokesman defending the free enterprise system against Obama’s government-centered approach. Romney has done something you hear people talk about theoretically but which doesn’t often happen—he has found his voice as a presidential candidate. And it’s all due to Barack Obama. I hope a fruit basket is on the way to the White House. It would only be polite.

I agree that Romney has improved as a stump speaker. But I still worry about his instincts.

For example, his initial reaction to Obama’s “you didn’t build that” gift was mostly to express indignation over the insult to small business owners. To be sure, Obama did insult that cohort. But this was perhaps the least politically and intellectually problematic aspect of Obama’s comment.

Obama played straight into the hands of Romney, who has claimed from the beginning that the president doesn’t understand how jobs are created and how the economy functions. That’s the line of attack that can win this election, not outrage over insults to small businessmen.

Romney showed similarly poor instincts when he demanded an apology after Team Obama suggested he might have committed a felony. The suggestion was outrageous, but Romney’s reaction made him seem weak. A strong presidential candidate does not call for statements from an opponent that he knows the opponent won’t deliver.

So yes, Romney is learning to be a better speaker. But instincts can’t be learned, and Romney’s could be better.

JOHN adds: I don’t disagree with anything Paul says, and I especially agree that it was foolish to ask for an apology when Obama called him a felon. That was an opportunity missed. But my take is slightly different from that of John Podhoretz, and many other conservative commentators, in that I have always thought Romney is underestimated as a candidate. I think that for a variety of reasons, conservatives have been overly critical of Romney’s skills, which are admittedly imperfect, but still pretty darn good. What we have seen over the last few days is, yes, an improvement; but the improvement is mainly due to Obama committing a horrible blunder that gave Romney an opening he could drive a truck through. I think a lot of conservative commentators are taking the opportunity to give Romney his due, in my view somewhat belatedly.”

Comment:   In the combat thus far, Mitt Romney should be burying the grease and sleaze of Obama’s campaign,  but the polls do not yet bear that out.   The folks at Powerline and elsewhere are likely too young to really appreciate the collapse of the average American understanding of anything  (beyond the sexual, that is).

The under fifties in America  is not a very literate people.   The twenty to  forties are nearly morons possessing  nearly no   basic general knowledge necessary to survive in today’s  bureaucratic culture and the natural world which they invade every moment of their lives.   They cannot recognize  the most brazen of lies even when they hear them repeated again and again.

The American public’s vast  ignorance about the nature of Mother Earth’s transformation through the past 100,000,000 years  was about to cost the nation’s tax payers  $1,000,000,000,000 in Obama’s Cap and Trade fraud, his  gift to third world countries and a tax upon Uncle Sam for his daring to be enterprising over the past two centuries.

The American public knows nothing about Marxism, its history, its writers and leaders, their goals, its traits in politics, its atheism, its devotion to dictate what is to be equal, its hates and scape goats….otherwise they would recognize the American Marxist pup, Barack Hussein Obama.

They also might recognize that Obama’s  administration, his leadership, and not only the leading “from the behind” kind. his circle of connivers, his circle of words, his circle of deeds,  is totally out of the mainstream  of the American Way.

Yes, Bill Clinton was a major leaguer liar on television, at least he was an American one.   Lies did not plague his every being.     He was  competent in leading the government without stirring racism black against white,, class and group  hatred, blacks, single women, gays, lesbians, Latinos, Union workers against the American middle class who goes to work  five days or more per week and wants to remain an American according to traditional Christian American principles and teachings.

Mr. Obama is the first foreigner to be bumped into the White House…..and a foreigner with no friends……no one from his past   attests to his outstanding character.  No one.    As Charles Krauthammer recently reminded us, Barack Hussein Obama has never even managed a candy shop.

He pretended to be a professor of Consitutional Law…..How is that possible based on his ignorance and disdain or boeht for that document he has demonstrated these nearly four years of his running the country ‘from behind’.

Like so many true con artists, Obama has a great gift of gab and its twistings…..a first class talent of nearly all Marxist tyrants.

Never in American history has the citizenry spent so much money attending university.     Those Marxists  in the social ‘science’ world at university have produced today’s American flock of the vacuous.    That added with the  the nation’s only subsidized religion, Atheistic Marxism, how can anyone be surprised that the fraud,  Obama,  can still be leading in the polls……leading a guy who is likely one of the most decent, most successful  human beings  from traditional American standards ever to run for the Presidency.
