Report: Key task force not convened

President Obama has claimed that “the minute” he became aware of the Benghazi attack, he directed his staff to “make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to do.” But CBS News reports that one thing Obama and his staff didn’t do was to convene its top interagency counterterrorism resource: the Counterterrorism Security Group, (CSG).

“The CSG is the one group that’s supposed to know what resources every agency has. They know of multiple options and have the ability to coordinate counterterrorism assets across all the agencies,” a high-ranking government official told CBS News. “They were not allowed to do their job. They were not called upon.”….

Absent coordination from Counterterrorism Security Group, a senior US counterterrorism official says the response to the crisis became more confused. The official says the FBI received a call during the attack representing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and requesting agents be deployed. But he and his colleagues agreed the agents “would not make any difference without security and other enablers to get them in the country and synch their efforts with military and diplomatic efforts to maximize their success.”

Obama’s failure to consult the CSG appears to violate established protocol which reportedly calls for the Counterterrorism Security Group (CSG) to be convened in the event of a possible terrorist attack. The attack in Benghazi was always a possible terrorist attack. According to a public military document, the reason for the protocol is to “synchronize the efforts of all the government agencies that have a role to play in the Global War on Terrorism.”

However, Obama opted, in the words of one official quoted by CBS “isolate the response process at the most senior level” and not to “consult counterterrorism professionals.” The outcome in Benghazi suggests that he should have followed protocol.

Perhaps Obama believes he’s a better counterterrorism expert than his counterterrorism professionals. Or maybe he just had his mind on Las Vegas.

A Month Prior to Benghazi Murders American Consulate Announced Alarms of Attack

Herridge On Cable Month Before Benghazi Attack: “Smoking Gun Warning Here”

“I really believe, having read it, that it is the smoking gun warning here. You’ve got this emergency meeting in Benghazi, less than a month before the attack. At that briefing, the people are told that there are ten, ten, Islamic militias and al-Qaeda groups in Benghazi. The consulate can not sustain a coordinated attack and they need extra help. This information goes directly to the office of the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. So, again, you have the culpability of the State Department. This is a very specific warning that they’re in trouble, they need help and they see an attack on the horizon,” FOX News’ Catherine Herridge reported on FOX News’ “On the Record” Wednesday night.

“I believe based on this cable the point that was being made, that they wanted made publicly, not just in a classified study, is that the warning that came from Benghazi was very specific. It said ‘we can not withstand an attack,’ the militias are everything, al-Qaeda is here. This was known to the U.S. intelligence community as well. And that they really could not see a situation where security was going to turn around. They send that it was trending negatively,” Herridge further reported.

“I can’t think of anything that would be more specific than if these groups had emailed the State Department and said, ‘Here’s the time, here’s the place, and here’s the method of the attack,'” she said.

“There can be no doubt that this is really a cry for help from the people on the ground,” Herridge told Greta van Susteren.

“If you couple this with the fact that we were coming up with the 9/11 anniversary and if you couple this with the statements that a videotape was somehow responsible, what you see is that is completely undercut. This cable says that, ‘The militias and al-Qaeda are here, we essentially think that we are next.’ So to take this attack and to suggest for such a long period of time that it was a video when you have classified cable and the intelligence, it just doesn’t match up,” she said.

“What I see is a growing body of evidence that the State Department has culpability for the death of the Ambassador and those three Americans,” Herridge declared. “The warnings were specific, they were direct, they name the enemy and they said that this consulate needed more support. And it also indicated in the cable that the consulate should probably move long-term into the annex. We now know that is the CIA facility in Benghazi.”

“”I want…..Iwant…..,, and I have ordered……and as I have said….I want”…… the American president repeated eleven times in a minute and a half the other day announcing to his countrywide mindless, his ‘plan’ to combat  the leftist global warming storm which caused snow and rain to mix in northeastern USofA.

The “I want” would have been done anyway by the various American agencies both private and  public, but Obama wanted the free advertising press time to keep the American mind off of his highness’  Major Scandal he caused in Benghazi, Libya.

More “I want…..I want…..I want…. I ordered”   …followed again the next hour out of Obamamouth, the largest source of mendaceous gas ever to rise from a major American president.  

Mr. Obama is a true first for “Yankees staying home”, the ones who haven’t enough education and experience to figure out the Mr. Obama is a congenital liar.    Most Marxists are……for they cannot sell their dream of  containing and restricting the human mind into a cell block without some resistance from human nature……even the thinking human female……usually the married one with kids.

George Will had a spectacular picture created in his mind which he let loose verbally last May 6, recorded by realclearpolitics…..a true traditional American enterprise:

“If you struck from Barack Obama’s vocabulary the first-person singular pronoun, he would fall silent, which would be a mercy to us and a service to him, actually,” Will said. “Because he was been so incontinent for the last three years that you wind up with, as you said, [an] Ohio State University with empty seats.”

The Middle Class is Getting Crushed by Crony Capitalism
Bills Stands by Petters Ad
BLOOMINGTON, MN — Crony capitalism is crushing the middle class, and Kurt Bills has vowed to fight crony capitalism.

That’s why he criticized Klobuchar’s “Saved” ad, which featured Paul Walser thanking Klobuchar for using her political power to save his dealerships while other, less politically connected small businesspeople were left out in the cold.

And that is why Bills stands by his television ad criticizing Klobuchar’s handling of the Tom Petters case while she was Hennepin County Attorney.

“We believe that Klobuchar’s failure to prosecute Petters was part of a disturbing pattern of cronyism displayed by Klobuchar throughout her career. We certainly don’t think she violated the law, but instead used her prosecutorial discretion to help a millionaire in trouble,” said Mike Osskopp, Bills’ campaign manager.

“In return, records show that Petters and his friends were the largest contributors to her 2002 reelection campaign for Hennepin County Attorney. Petters and company more than doubled the contributions of her former law partners or any other group of contributors. If that doesn’t ring alarm bells, I don’t know what would,” said Osskopp. It is highly unusual for non-lawyers to contribute large amounts to a County Attorney race.

The Petters-Klobuchar connection was brought to light by a series of investigative stories in the web magazine “The Daily Caller.”

The key issue in dispute is whether Klobuchar had in her possession evidence implicating Petters in the Ponzi scheme he initiated in 1993, and which subsequently came to light 15 years later. The Daily Caller story asserted she did, based upon her acquiring documents linking Petters to two co-conspirators she prosecuted.

Had Klobuchar pursued the Petters connection to the fraud—a connection clearly made by the documents in her possession—Petters would not have been able to defraud thousands of people out of billions of dollars.

The picture painted in the Daily Caller story raises serious questions, especially in light of Klobuchar’s expressed pride in helping powerful millionaires by exercising her political power. She argues that she uses her political influence to save jobs; we see it as using her political power to help the powerful at the expense of the weak.

Bills has gotten a lot of pushback for raising this issue, much of which is based upon the assertion by Doug Kelley that he had told the campaign that Klobuchar was totally blameless.

Kelley’s story has changed dramatically since he spoke with MPR and made his assertions. None of his 3 versions of his dealings with the campaign is accurate.

Bills has based his campaign on the argument that crony capitalism is crushing the middle class and undermining the American economy.

“Unless we change course and return to the principles of free enterprise, our economy will implode sooner rather than later. And it is the working class who always bear the burden of a bad economy,” said Bills.

“Crony capitalism is destroying this country. Using government power to pick economic winners and losers is the Washington way. Both Republicans and Democrats do it, and the middle class is the loser,” Bills added.

“The bailouts of the banks was crony capitalism. The stimulus program was crony capitalism. The ‘green energy’ boondoggles were crony capitalism. Picking Walser over other dealerships was crony capitalism. And we believe that Klobuchar’s sweeping Petters involvement in a fraud Klobuchar prosecuted was probably crony capitalism too,” Bills concluded.

The best evidence that Klobuchar either did or should have known the Petters was involved in a fraud comes from Attorney Garrett Vail, a bankruptcy attorney who represented a bank defrauded by Petters’ accomplices. His contact information is easily available through Google.

Bills looks forward to getting answers to these questions at the Minnesota Public Radio debate this Sunday.
