Pause: Time for a moment in the Garden

Yes, I am a landscape gardener by trade.   My eyes are too old  to notice the goings on in the following video at youtube in real life.    Moreover the action moves far too quickly.

The closest I have ever been to any kind of a hummngbird among the countless many who monkey around  so many perennials in bloom, occurred two summers ago while I was in the garden talking to my son, Chris via cellphone when darting out of the garden’s vegetative massings came this creature about two and a half inches long and parked itself  no farther than two feet from my nose. buzzing his wings…..and it was a male…..

It remained suspended spinning away studying my geography with my mouth agape and silenced.

“One, two, three, four, five”……I counted in thought…..nine, ten, elev…….and it darted away as fast as it arrived……You’ll never believe what buzzed into my face space”, I excitedly reported to my son.

Later I wondered if this ruby throat thought my eye balls contained any nectar…..and then I got shook…….Do you know how fast this darter shoots through the air?    I couldn’t have blinked fast enough to close my eyes had he moved in on them full speed to check out the menu.

Friend and fellow conservative, Jan Desirey sent  me the following youtube video beauty.

Contrary to university Marxist dogma holding the contrary…..There IS such a thing as beauty….and some things are more beautiful than others.

California Sponged Dry by Union Greed. More Arson by Democrats Expected

For Republicans unhappy with Tuesday’s election, we have good news—at least most of you don’t live in California. Not only did Democrats there win voter approval to raise the top tax rate to 13.3%, but they also received a huge surprise—a legislative supermajority. Look out below.

The main check on Sacramento excess has been a constitutional amendment requiring a two-thirds majority of both houses to raise taxes. Although Republicans have been in the minority for four decades, they could impose a modicum of spending restraint by blocking tax increases. If Democratic leads stick in two races where ballots are still being counted, liberals will pick up enough seats to secure a supermajority. Governor Jerry Brown then will be the only chaperone for the Liberals Gone Wild video that is Sacramento.

Mr. Brown can blame himself for this predicament, after he drove more young voters to the polls by threatening to cut $500 million from higher education, which would have brought on large tuition increases. Voters between the ages of 18 and 29 made up 28% of the electorate, up from 22% in 2008 and 15% in 1996.

Unions also ramped up their turnout machine to kill a ballot initiative that would have barred unions from automatically withholding money from worker paychecks for political spending. The high Democratic turnout in moderate and right-leaning districts helped the party pick up three seats in the senate and four in the assembly.

So now Californians will experience the joys of one-party, union-run progressive governance. Mr. Brown is urging lawmakers to demonstrate frugality and the “prudence of Joseph.” As he said the other day, “we’ve got to make sure over the next few years that we pay our bills, we invest in the right programs, but we don’t go on any spending binges.” That’s what all Governors say. Trouble is, merely paying the state’s delinquent bills will require tens of billions in additional revenues if lawmakers don’t undertake fiscal reforms.

Lawmakers have been borrowing and deferring debts for the past decade merely to close their annual deficits, and those bills will soon come due. The legislature has raided $4.3 billion from special funds and deferred $10 billion in constitutionally required payments to schools.

The state has also borrowed $10 billion from Uncle Sam to pay for jobless benefits and $313 million this year from the state disability insurance trust fund for debt service on those federal loans. Democrats have proposed replenishing the state’s barren unemployment insurance trust fund by raising payroll taxes on employers. Expect that to happen now.

Then there’s the more than $200 billion in unfunded liabilities the state has accrued for worker retirement benefits, which this year cost taxpayers $6.5 billion. The California State Teachers’ Retirement System says it needs an additional $3.5 billion and $10 billion annually for the next 30 years to amortize its debt.

The state has $73 billion in outstanding bonds for capital projects and $33 billion in voter-authorized bonds that the state hasn’t sold in part because it can’t afford higher debt payments. Unissued bonds include $9.5 billion for a bullet train, which will require $50 billion to $90 billion more to complete. Sacramento will also need more money to support an $11 billion bond to retrofit the state’s water system, which is planned for the 2014 ballot.

With no GOP restraint, liberals can now raise taxes to pay for all this. They’ll probably start by repealing Proposition 13’s tax cap for commercial property. Democrats in the Assembly held hearings on the idea this spring. Then they’ll try to make it easier for cities to raise taxes.

The greens want an oil severance tax. Other Democrats want to extend the sales tax to services, supposedly in return for a lower rate, but don’t expect any “reform” to be revenue neutral. Look for huge union pay raises and higher pension benefits.

The silver lining here is that Americans will be able to see the modern liberal-union state in all its raw ambition. The Sacramento political class thinks it can tax and regulate the private economy endlessly without consequence. As a political experiment it all should be instructive, and at least Californians can still escape to  Nevada or Idaho.

Obama Sinking the American Ship for Four More Years

Under Barack Obama the US superpower

faces four more years of decline

by Nile Gardiner   at   the Telegraph:

The world needs powerful American leadership, the bedrock of which rest upon a sound economy, limited government and free enterprise, as well as a strong national defence. But it certainly won’t be provided by Obama’s imperial presidency. In his first term of office, an administration that worshipped bailouts and big government built up staggering levels of debt that threaten to saddle future generations with the profligate spending of their forefathers. Instead of hope, President Obama offered only the heavy fist of government intervention, rising taxes, increasing poverty and welfare dependency, and an increasingly bitter, angry and insular White House.

There is no reason to expect a different approach in Obama’s second term. His re-election will only embolden his deep-seated left-wing instincts, which are to “transform” the United States into a European-style social democracy. There is good reason why the Obama administration has been a wholehearted backer of the European Project – because it sees its ideals as a role model for America, not a warning.

Under the Obama administration, the very foundations of the world’s only superpower are being undermined by a $16 trillion national debt that has increased by 50 percent under President Obama – a staggering debt per taxpayer of $111,414. Incredibly, US per person debt is now 35 percent higher than that of Greece, according to a chart produced by the Republican side of the Senate Budget Committee. As The Weekly Standard reported earlier this week:

According to estimates from the International Monetary Fund, America’s total government debt will be $16.8 trillion by the end of the calendar year, compared to $441 billion for Greece,” the Republican side of the Senate Budget Committee explains. “On a per person basis, that means U.S. debt is $53,400 for every man, woman, and child, compared to $39,400 for every man, woman, and child in Greece. The disparity between per capita debt in the U.S. and Greece has grown 40 percent (roughly $8,400) since 2011. Now, U.S. per person debt is 35 percent higher than that of Greece, and is also higher than per capita debt in Portugal, Italy, or Spain (which together with Greece make up the so-called PIGS countries).”

At the same time, economic freedom has declined dramatically, with the United States falling to 10th place in the world rankings, with government spending now exceeding one third of total domestic output. Adding further to the $1 trillion federal budget deficit, the White House has pushed through a vastly expensive health care reform package that harkened back to the failed European social model rather than the American dream.

Over the past year I had the privilege of serving as a foreign policy adviser to Governor Romney’s presidential campaign. I am in no doubt (and this is a view shared by nearly 60 million Americans who voted on Tuesday) that America and the world would have been far better off with Romney at the helm, a politician who actually understands how an economy works, has run a business, and firmly believes in American exceptionalism.

A Romney presidency would have reversed the decline of the last four years, and put America back on its feet. Unlike Obama, Romney pledged to rein in government spending, significantly reduce the budget deficit, lower taxes, strip away burdensome regulations on small business, and foster an economic environment that actually creates jobs, attracts foreign investment and advances economic freedom. Together with Paul Ryan, he offered the American electorate a platform of fiscal responsibility combined with clear free market solutions to the biggest economic downturn since the Great Depression. In stark contrast, Obama, in the words of former Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan in a recent interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly, offered merely “grimness, joylessness and profound negativity” in his campaign.

Romney’s defeat was a setback for conservatism in America, but it is only a temporary one (more on this later). As Gallup polling shows, ideologically the United States is still a conservative nation, with conservatives outnumbering liberals by a nearly two to one margin – 42 percent to 23 percent. Conservatives will now be looking to the 2014 midterms and to 2016 with a renewed sense of determination and a firm belief that America’s revival and long-term prosperity can only be driven by the advance of individual liberty and economic freedom, and not by the deathly hand of big government. Unfortunately, America faces another four years of decline. It cannot afford another eight.

Obama’s Islamic Revenge……Marxism for America

Obama’s Revenge: America’s Challenge

By on 11.6.12 @ 6:09AM

A nation of dumpster diving, gas lines, class warfare, race cards, and no jobs.

(Introductory comment:   Researches on the subject claim that today’s American has about a three sentence attention span when reading news articles even on the first page.

I claim it is a feminist habit for the single lefty female lacks the natural genetic gift  to be driven to collect material to problem solve.    Worse for modern life, she is natively incurious.

Obama Americans have been miseducated to believe there is no difference between the human female and human  male except for socialization.    Before the hysterical become too exercised over this  observations, ask them why everything  that ever has been  created, built, invented,  including  the the arts….except for perhaps ‘dance’,  by humans over the past  one hunred thousand years of human DNA,  has been driven and achieved by the human male?

“This is about revenge.”
Rush Limbaugh on the policies of President Obama, February 27, 2009

“Voting is the best revenge.”
— Barack Obama, November 2, 2012

It was the grand leftist experiment.

It was Obama’s Revenge.

A revenge designed to take what Ronald Reagan once called “the last best hope of man on earth” and, instead, to “transform America.” A revenge designed to remake a nation founded on principles of liberty and freedom into a Westernized progressive utopia. An “Ameritopia” — to borrow from Mark Levin’s bestseller.

Rush Limbaugh nailed this exactly way back on February 27, 2009. And now the President himself — in an unscripted moment at a Friday rally — has made it clear that Rush was right.

Said the President: “Voting is the best revenge.”

In fact, Obama’s Revenge was the latest experiment in a long line of grand leftist experiments.

Obama’s Revenge has indeed transformed America. Transformed it in four years to a declining land of soaring poverty, relentless unemployment, with millions added to the food stamp rolls, the perpetuation of the race card a regular feature alonside skyrocketing gas prices and now — in the wake of Hurricane Sandy — dumpster diving, six-hour gas lines, and an endless lack of heat and power.

But this transformation was also something else.

Obama’s Revenge was the inevitable conclusion of a presidency formed in a Voldemortish cauldron. A cauldron seething with a witch’s brew of poisonous, bubbling anti-American passions gleaned here and there from far-left Obama mentors from Frank Marshall Davis to Derrick Bell to the Reverend Jeremiah Wright to Bill Ayers.

The first a Communist. The second a believer in “racial realism” — racializing every aspect of the law in “Critical Legal Studies.” The third a proponent of black liberation theology. The fourth a leader in the in violent 1960’s-era Weather Underground that believed, as stated in their manifesto:

The most important task for us toward making the revolution, and the work our collectives should engage in, is the creation of a mass revolutionary movement… akin to the Red Guard in China, based on the full participation and involvement of masses of people… with a full willingness to participate in the violent and illegal struggle.

Part of Obama’s Revenge was the old chestnut of Social Justice. Social Justice, don’t you see? It was about compassion. Justice. Fairness. Americans paying their fair share.

There were continuous Obama references to the “mess” America was in on January 20, 2009. But never an admission that the “mess” was caused by an earlier crusade for Social Justice — that crusade for Social Justice in housing.

There was no reference to the Social Justice command that was the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977. A law from the Carter presidency that mandated bank regulators must determine if banks were serving “the whole” needs of low-income communities. A law that was followed by the Social Justice commands of the Clinton Administration — in particular the 1994 National Homeownership Strategy. This Social Justice gem demanded “financing strategies, fueled by the creativity and resources of the private and public sectors, to help homeowners that lack cash to buy a home or to make the payments.” Those Social Justice strategies appeared — courtesy of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Can you say “subprime mortgage crisis”? Can you say “American financial collapse”?

Which is to say the “mess” that Obama inherited was yet another Social Justice mess. The classic mix of Big Government, Statist busybodyness flavored with a heavy dose of rich liberal lobbyists. Or, in the words of New York Times reporter Gretchen Morgenson in her exposé Reckless Endangerment: How Outsized Ambition, Greed, and Corruption Led to Economic Armageddon, the Social Justice mentality and its resulting actions that “finally blew up the American economy.”

How to fix this Social Justice mess?

Why… how else? Create another!

This jewel was, as the President loved to call it “the Recovery Act.” The stimulus. An $830 billion stimulus. Which is another way of saying almost one trillion dollars worth of stimulus.

And how was this grand Social Justice scheme supposed to cure the collapse brought on by the last grand Social Justice scheme? In the words of yesterday’s Wall Street Journal, the Obama White House and their Social Justice allies on Capitol Hill

….did what comes naturally and wrote a bill that was all about transfer payments, temporary tax subsidies, green industrial policy, homeowner subsidies, 99 weeks of jobless benefits and all the rest. The spending bonanza benefited every Democratic interest group — except the Obama voters who wanted jobs and higher incomes.

Not content with this, Obama moved on to Obamacare — effectively nationalizing one-sixth of the American economy.

Higher taxes are all set to kick in. The financial cliff looms. Dodd-Frank has descended on the economy. The EPA has gone wild.

And the results of all of this?

The unemployment rate — which was promised by the Obama White House to be at 5.2% by this point in his term — is at 7.9%. On the rise and once again higher than it was when Obama took office.

Gas prices are through the roof — and going north.

And the Hurricane? The New York Times crowed on October 29 that “A Big Storm Requires Big Government.”

They got their wish.

New Yorkers living out Obama’s Revenge are now on the television news dumpster diving for food, freezing in the cold, waiting — or standing — in line for six or seven hours for gas. As the dead literally float on Staten Island.

Frantically Obama and Governors Cuomo of New York and Christie of New Jersey have gone about suspending every Big Government roadblock findable.

Over the side goes:

The Jones Act: a Big Government heritage from Woodrow Wilson, who signed it into law in 1920. What was the problem? The Jones Act kept foreign tankers from moving from port to port in the US. Result — gas is unable to reach the ports of New York and New Jersey. So Obama waived it.

New York State Tax Law: Funding New York’s liberal Big Government in part was a tax on fee on the movement of fuel oils, accompanied by stiff regulations. Result: the fees and regulations were keeping gas from gas starved New Yorkers. So Cuomo cashiered it.

New Jersey fuel regulations: These New Jersey regs have been state Big Government “limitations on the source of fuel particular and branded fuel retailers are allowed to sell.” Result: the long gas lines in New Jersey. Christie pitched.

Etcetera. Etcetera. Etcetera.

There are others, but you get the drift. When in trouble… the first thing that gets pitched over the side is Big Government. When Americans get really, really mad at the stupidity of Big Government — the taxes, fees and regulations go over the side faster than you can say “Ex- President Obama.”

But there’s more here. Something even more important than all of this horror.

Obama’s Revenge is more than just the litany of failures that are pushed by Social Justice liberals.

Obama’s Revenge is an attempt to rid America of the fundamentals of the American founding itself.

To replace those fundamental principles of liberty and freedom and the Constitution that enshrines them with the latest chapter in the eternal left-wing search for utopia.

Our friend Mark Levin has written two of the most important books of the decade, Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto and the aforementioned Ameritopia: The Unmaking of America,

These two books explain exactly what is at stake in the 2012 election. In fact, as recalled here, the reaction to Liberty and Tyranny was a bellwether for the 2010 anti-Obama landslide.

But why? Why exactly did Mark’s book strike such a chord with Americans when it appeared in 2009?

The reason is simple.

From the moment the Pilgrims first touched American soil in 1620 until the instant the late Neil Armstrong touched that first step on the moon in 1969; from the moment the ink dried on the last signatures of the Declaration of Independence, lighting the fuse of the American Revolution, to the moment former Navy Seals Ty Woods and Glen Doherty raced to the Benghazi consulate to try and save their fellow Americans — the ideal of freedom and liberty has burned in the American soul.

Liberty and freedom are the very antithesis of what Levin accurately labeled the Statist’s “insatiable appetite for control.”

They are ideals that are dangerous to Statists and Social Justice disciples precisely because they are colorblind and gender-blind, equal on all accounts for the rich and poor alike. They are dangerous because they democratize decision making and demand equal opportunity for all, removing control from the hands of self-appointed master planners whose friends — think Solyndra — will profit from what Mitt Romney accurately calls “trickle-down government.”

In this case, the Obama administration and their cronies are the very master planners who have cost so many millions in the American middle class their jobs not to mention their houses — and in Benghazi, their lives.

Whatever happens this election day in America — no matter who wins — the battle between those whose Statist, Social Justice policies have failed so miserably and those who are intent on keeping America the land of freedom and opportunity so many have died for, will continue.

Ronald Reagan once noted that

History comes and goes, but principles endure and inspire future generations to defend liberty, not as a gift from government, but a blessing from our Creator.

The defense of liberty on this day will take place invisibly, as it always does. From the small villages of New Hampshire, where first votes are cast and counted after midnight, to the suburbs, farms and cities of the greatest nation in human history, the battle will silently rage.

Reagan also noted, in his first inaugural address that Mark Levin quotes at the close of Ameritopia:

“If we look to the answer as to why for so many years we achieved so much, prospered as no other people on earth, it was because here in this land we unleashed the energy and individual genius of man to a greater extent than has ever been done before. Freedom and the dignity of the individual have been more available and assured here than any other place on earth. The price for this freedom at times has been high, but we have never been unwilling to pay that price. It is no coincidence that our present troubles parallel and are proportionate to the intervention and intrusion in our lives that result from unnecessary and excessive growth of government. It is time for us to realize that we are too great a nation to limit ourselves to small dreams. We’re not, as some would have us believe, doomed to an inevitable decline. I do not believe in a fate that will fall on us no matter what we do. I do believe in a fate that will fall on us if we do nothing.”

The Time for Choosing is here.

Liberty — or tyranny?

America? Or Ameritopia?

Obama’s Revenge? Or America’s Challenge?

We will know tonight.”

Comment:    Thank you, friend and fellow conservative, Brian Ross for forwarding this outstanding article at the American Spectator.   Obviously it was written previous to  Chapter II  of Marxist Obama’s revenge awarded him in  last Tuesday’s.

TYRANNY WILL CONTINUE!

Already the multitudes of Obamalings in the press, chambers of Congress, and entertainment world have been advising the losers to Obama that unforgetable day to end their resistance to the Marxist State  to dance with the deceit and decay of the entitled and denounce their civilization based on faith in and teaching of  classic  good and  knowledge, honesty,  rational thinking and action, and restore  the basic tenets of the raison d’etre of our former great nation, Liberty, In God We Trust,  and   E Pluribus Unum.

When I was being taught knowledge, tolerance, and Christian manners and behavior in public school, neighborhood and home, an American motto we memorized was:

Democratic societies are those in which  the “Majority governs with Minority rights”.

We never hear that traditional American ideal any more.    Obama’s Marxists pick  which tribes in the country, no matter how small in mind and number are most loyal to Lord Obama and his dreams of equality on demand, to govern with no tolerance for minority rights…..only Obamaling rights.

NOT ALL BLACK AMERICANS ARE OBAMALINGS

THANK GOD FOR THE VOICE AND MIND OF MYCHAL MASSIE AND  HIS FELLOW THINKERS IN THE AMERICAN BLACK COMMUNITIES.

(article sent to my by career Librarian, Jan DeSirey amd reprinted from his blogsite)

“Mychal Massie is a respected writer and talk show host in Los Angles.

The other evening on my twitter, a person asked me why I didn’t like the Obama’s?   Specifically I was asked: “I have to ask, why do you hate the Obama’s?   It seems personal, not policy related.   You even dissed (disrespect) their Christmas family picture.”

The truth is I do not like the Obamas, what they represent, their ideology, and I certainly do not like his policies and legislation.   I’ve made no secret of my contempt for the Obamas.   As I responded to the person who asked me the aforementioned question, I don’t like them because they are committed to the fundamental change of my/our country into what can only be regarded as a Communist state.

I don’t hate them per definition, but I condemn them because they are the worst kind of racialists, they are elitist Leninists with contempt for traditional America .  They display disrespect for the sanctity of the office he holds, and for those who are willing to admit same, Michelle Obama’s raw contempt for white America is transpicuous.

I don’t like them because they comport themselves as emperor and empress.   I expect, no I demand respect, for the Office of President and a love of our country and her citizenry from the leader entrusted with the governance of same.   President and Mrs. Reagan displayed an unparalleled love for the country and her people.  The Reagan’s made Americans feel good about themselves and about what we could accomplish.   Obama’s arrogance by appointing 32 leftist czars and constantly bypassing congress is impeachable.   Eric Holder is probably the MOST incompetent and arrogant DOJ head to ever hold the job. Could you envision President Reagan instructing his Justice Department to act like jack-booted thugs?

Presidents are politicians and all politicians are known and pretty much expected to manipulate the truth, if not outright lie, but even using that low standard, the Obama’s have taken lies, dishonesty, deceit, mendacity, subterfuge and obfuscation to new depths.   They are verbally abusive to the citizenry, and they display an animus for civility.

I do not like them, because they both display bigotry overtly, as in the case of Harvard Professor Louis Gates, when he accused the Cambridge Police of acting stupidly, and her code speak pursuant to now being able to be proud of America.   I view that statement and that mindset as an insult to those who died to provide a country where a Kenyan, his illegal alien relatives, and his alleged progeny, could come and not only live freely, but rise to the highest, most powerful, position in the world.  Michelle Obama is free to hate and disparage whites because Americans of every description paid with their blood to ensure her right to do same.

I have a saying, that “the only reason a person hides things, is because they have something to hide.”   No president in history has spent millions of dollars to keep his records and his past sealed.

And what the two of them have shared has been proved to be lies.   He lied about when and how they met, he lied about his mother’s death and problems with insurance, Michelle lied to a crowd pursuant to nearly $500,000 bank stocks they inherited from his family.   He has lied about his father’s military service, about the civil rights movement, ad nausea.   He lied to the world about the Supreme Court in a State of the Union address..   He berated and publicly insulted a sitting Congressman.   He has surrounded himself with the most rabidly, radical, socialist academicians today.   He opposed rulings that protected women and children that even Planned Parenthood did not seek to support.   He is openly hostile to business and aggressively hostile to Israel .   His wife treats being the First Lady as her personal American Express Black Card (arguably the most prestigious credit card in the world).   I condemn them because, as people are suffering, losing their homes, their jobs, their retirements, he and his family are arrogantly showing off their life of entitlement – as he goes about creating and fomenting class warfare.

I don’t like them, and I neither apologize nor retreat from my public condemnation of them and of his policies.   We should condemn them for the disrespect they show our people, for his willful and unconstitutional actions pursuant to obeying the Constitutional parameters he is bound by, and his willful disregard for Congressional authority.

Dislike for them has nothing to do with the color of their skin; it has everything to do with their behavior, attitudes, and policies.   And I have open scorn for their constantly playing the race card.

It is my intention to do all within my ability to ensure their reign is one term.  I could go on, but let me conclude with this.  I condemn in the strongest possible terms the media for refusing to investigate them, as they did President Bush and President Clinton, and for refusing to label them for what they truly are.   There is no scenario known to man, whereby a white president and his wife could ignore laws, flaunt their position, and lord over the people, as these two are permitted out of fear for their color.

As I wrote in a syndicated column titled, “Nero In The White House” – “Never in my life, inside or outside of politics, have I witnessed such dishonesty in a political leader.  He is the most mendacious political figure I have ever witnessed.   Even by the low standards of his presidential predecessors, his narcissistic, contumacious arrogance is unequalled.  Using Obama as the bar, Nero would have to be elevated to sainthood…   Many in America wanted to be proud when the first person of color was elected president, but instead, they have been witness to a congenital liar, a woman who has been ashamed of America her entire life, failed policies, intimidation, and a commonality hitherto not witnessed in political leaders.   He and his wife view their life at our expense as an entitlement – while America ‘s people go homeless, hungry and unemployed.”
