Krauthammer Soft on Abortion Ban? Not so Much?

KRAUTHAMMER’S DIVIDED SOUL

by Matthew J. Frank at First Thing:

“There are few more gifted conservative columnists working in journalism today than Charles Krauthammer. On so many issues, from executive power to foreign policy to limited government, Krauthammer is reliable, insightful, and employs a gleefully sharp pen to eviscerate his adversaries. But every now and then he delivers himself of frustratingly ill-informed opinions, and this happens most often on the “social” issues such as the sanctity of life and the preservation of marriage.

So it was in his latest weekly column. In the midst of giving generally good advice to conservative pro-lifers about how to play to their political strength—by emphasizing the issue of late-term abortion, where a consensus of public opinion is on their side—Krauthammer offered this:

http://www.firstthings.com/blogs/firstthoughts/2014/02/dr-krauthammers-divided-soul”

Comment: I have even more respect for Charles Krauthammer for the same and more reasons mentioned above. I read or view his ‘wordings’ at every opportunity and believe it or not, even when I was a college type liberal when Krauthammer was singular as a super writer-thinker at the New Republic which I had subscribed to for years.

Here’s my take on this abortion or any morality case in America these days….. The habit of “illicit” sex today along with the current cultural love for druggy-time thrills and emotional self-love pushed by the witches of the Left longing to return to the eternal primitive, the banal, base, and carnal thrills still dominate the present noise and sell of culture in America. Conservatives still occupy the caves where for 50 years and more the Left has sent them.

We still live in a culture led primarily a feminized rebellion against the old fashioned, the male domination of everthing in history due to his God-given insatiable drive to be curious to learn, to know knowledge to build, to be creative, to invent, to solve problems, drives which linger day to day within himself from puberty to death, as he judges himself and his achievements with others.

We are now ‘geared’ to be girly-left animals in America, and live and teach their devotion to the make-believe.

Charles Krauthammer with all of his gifts of classical thinking and lucid writing is a worried man. He is an old-fashioned guy who loves his country and he knows how to explain why. His worries require him to be more political than I suspect Mr. Krauthammer would like to be in his daily observations of life. I think he would prefer simply to be a judge of human errors, successes, foibles and sins, not a fan who takes sides.

There is no doubt in my mind he wants this Marxist Obama gang, skilled in deceit, and power-hungry as they truly are, thrown out of the ball park for good. Today’s American is woefully uneducated, unlearned in nearly all aspects of life’s learnings.

Poles indicate that abortion….and least the later-term kind are unpopular today….In the general I suspect those in the center of those poled are telling the truth, more or less. Most are females who by gift of birth, prefer feelings over truth.

I don’t trust the truthtelling of the younger gals, the less older ones, the divorced and single and the minorities of any voting age when it comes to voting for anti- abortion candidates this coming November.

I have noticed cautious advice and criticisms of certain conservatives in today’s public eye which I feel have political nuiances favoring those he believes have the best chances to get Republicans into National offices asap. Krauthammer wants Republicans to be elected in order to undo the damage done by Obama, the Dread.

Girl Scouts a Lesbian-Left Network or Just Left?

RUSE: Say no to Girl Scout Cookies

Left-wing political agenda undermines girls, families

by Cathy Cleaver Ruse at the Washington Times:

“When our sweet little neighbor in her brown camp uniform came knocking on our door this year, we had to say no. I told her mother that I didn’t want to hurt Katie’s feelings, but I couldn’t support the Girl Scout cookie sale anymore because I’d learned too much about the organizers’ agenda, primarily their support for abortion and partnership with Planned Parenthood.

I worried that my “political” stand would cause uneasiness between us, but her response put me at ease: “Well,” she said, “they do use unpaid child labor to make their sales, and the troop only gets 10 percent of the revenues anyway.”

True. According to the Girl Scouts’ website, the lion’s share of the money goes not to the troop but to bureaucrats up the chain of command in multicounty councils. The national office gets a piece of the pie, too, in the form of royalties based on gross annual sales volume – about 200 million boxes per year.

It’s a sacrifice, because I love the cookies and the cuties who sell them, but enough is enough.

I remember the Girl Scouts being flaky way back in the early 1970s. When I was a Brownie, I was told to recite some chant and step over a mirror. If I had known the word, I would have called it “pagan.” Even an unchurched girl of 7 could smell a rat.

Last year, the Girl Scouts decided to admit boys who dress as girls. When asked to admit a cross-dressing 7-year-old boy, a Colorado troop leader demurred, explaining to his mother, with tact and irrefutable logic, that her son couldn’t be a Girl Scout because he has “boy parts.”

The troop leader was chastised by the mom as being insensitive and promptly was overruled by the Girl Scout top brass, who, in a statement said, “If a child identifies as a girl and the child’s family presents her as a girl, Girl Scouts of Colorado welcomes her as a Girl Scout.” Perpetuating this cruel charade on the little boy and forcing little girls to participate in it is “inclusiveness” to the Girl Scouts. To others, it’s child abuse.

But it shouldn’t be surprising: The Girl Scouts have a cross-dresser in the front office.

Ten years ago, Girl Scouts media relations officer Joshua Ackley was frontman for the “homopunk” band the Dead Betties. In publicity shots, he’s dressed in women’s clothing, and in music videos, he appears to be naked and feigning masturbation. The video for “Hellevator” portrays a woman being strangled in an elevator shaft while Mr. Ackley flashes a menacing grin.

Today he issues press releases, posts news and views on the Girl Scouts’ blog, and tries to mollify moms who are concerned about Girl Scout ties with Planned Parenthood. In fact, it was Mr. Ackley who facilitated the Girl Scouts’ “no adults allowed” workshop at the United Nations – the workshop in which the Planned Parenthood sex brochure “Healthy, Happy, and Hot” was offered, although part of Mr. Ackley’s job is to deny it.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if someone like Mr. Ackley was behind the Girl Scouts’ recent scandal: a guidebook that tells girls to check with the leftist, George Soros-funded Media Matters before believing what they read in the news.

As boys send in their orders for Brownie beanies and tights, the Girl Scouts have declared 2012 to be “The Year of the Girl,” announcing that they will be “working to break down societal barriers that prevent girls from leading in their own lives.” What barriers? What does “leading in their own lives” even mean? Forgive me for thinking it has something to do with sex or abortion.

Several years ago. a quarter of the Girl Scout councils nationwide admitted to partnering with Planned Parenthood, the nation’s abortion giant. When questioned about the affiliation on NBC’s “Today Show,” Girl Scout CEO Kathy Cloninger had no compunction in confirming it.

The Girl Scouts have been “pro-choice” for years, but now they’ve been caught supporting promiscuous sex for girls. The Planned Parenthood sex guide offered at that “girls only” U.N. meeting offered this advice on Page 11: “Some people have sex when they have been drinking alcohol or using drugs. This is your choice. … If you want to have sex and think you might get drunk or high, plan ahead by bringing condoms and lube or putting them close to where you usually have sex.”

Heard enough? There’s a lot more at 100questionsforthegirlscouts.org.

Earlier this month, a young Girl Scout employee, Renise Rodriguez, made the mistake of stopping by the office to do extra work on her own time in a T-shirt bearing the words: “Pray to End Abortion.” A supervisor ordered her to turn the shirt inside out or leave the office. She left, for good.

So should we all.”

Obamaling-University Left on Automating Childrearing in America

“1984”…”Brave New World” and “We” are texts the liberty- oriented had to read a couple of generations ago, to understand the paradise of Marxist Godless dictatorship, or any of its cousins whose goals center on the Victory of the bureaucratic state dictatorship over human life.

Barack Hussein Obama is a current messenger and devoted toymaker of its development in America. World Government Dictatorship is an international religion emanating not only from Obama’s Washington, but more broadly, from ‘management’ especially feminized management at the United Nations.

Most of the member countries of the United Nations are dictatorships. Feminized bureaucracies restricting truthseeking thinking and doing, now rule the world of Western Europe, a land of dying cultures. This management also considers Uncle Sam’s males as the greatest enemy to humankind….for our America until Obamatime, still allows most of its human males to remain creative, inventive, intellectually active, rather independent of slaveholders, still prideful in personal AND collective problem-solving while maintaining his genetic drive for honest selfresponsibility.

Nearly all working males genetically depend upon honesty over female emotions in his drive to problem solve to perform his building tasks and create new ideas.

Today’s Left demands the human male be harnassed, dummied down to become “more like a woman, not a man”, more the same of nothing more than what exists according to the orders of and requirements needed to secure the dictatorship of the feminized State and its bureaucracies.

Inventions are a threat to the status quo, feminized or not. Upheavals occur. Steam engine, air-flight, the internet are elementary examples….

Despite Obama and his leftwing university productions propagandizing forcing the imprisonment of “equality” upon male America….ALL INVENTIONS OF SIGNIFICANCE IN OUR HUMAN LIFE ARE MALE CREATIONS, the nature of the human animal.

Throughout the millenia of development of the human animal, the female’s unique contribution to this day is creating, developing, and delivering the most sacred creature required for all human animal existence….the BIRTH OF HER CHILD….and with this TRUTH from nature…demanding from the male of the sex, the genetic drive to protect, educate, train and develop this offspring to a maturity which will be able to continue the life of the species.

Please read carefully the following article sent by fellow conservative, Mark Waldeland:

LEFTIST PRONOUNCINGS: All of the children belong to us….(the dictators of the bureaucracies?)

Paul Reville, former Massachusetts Secretary of Education and Harvard professor, was a panelist at the Center for American Progress on Jan. 31, 2014. (CNSNews.com/Penny Starr)

(CNSNews.com) – In addressing criticism of the Common Core national education standards, a panelist at the Center for American Progress (CAP), a liberal think tank, said critics were a “tiny minority” who opposed standards altogether, which was unfair because “the children belong to all of us.”

The CAP was founded by John Podesta, former chief of staff to Bill Clinton and now an adviser to President Barack Obama. At a CAP event to promote Common Core on Friday, CNSNews.com asked about the critics who say federal monetary incentives attached to Common Core is driving the states to implement the standards.

Paul Reville, the former secretary of education for Massachusetts and a Common Core supporter, said, “To be sure, there’s always a small voice – and I think these voices get amplified in the midst of these arguments – of people who were never in favor of standards in the first place and never wanted to have any kind of testing or accountability and those voices get amplified.”

“But those are a tiny minority,” he said. “An overwhelming majority of teachers are saying this is something – as [panelist] Toby [Romer] said – that makes sense.”

Reville continued, “Again, the argument about where it came from I think privileges certain sort of fringe voices about federalism and states’ rights, and things of that nature, when really what we’re doing at the national level here now, state by state, is what a lot of our states thought made sense individually.”

“Why should some towns and cities and states have no standards or low standards and others have extremely high standards when the children belong to all of us and would move [to different states in their educational lives]?”

“And the same logic applies to the nation,” Reville said. “And it makes sense to educators. It makes sense to policymakers, and it’s why people have voluntarily entered into this agreement.”

“So, it’s less about where it came from and more about, ‘Okay, now we settled on this as a set of targets, what are the strategies we need to implement, to be successful at it?’ because educators and students want to be successful,” Reville said.

The Common Core website describes the creation and mission of the standards as follows:

“The nation’s governors and education commissioners, through their representative organizations the National Governors Association (NGA) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) led the development of the Common Core State Standards and continue to lead the initiative.”

“Teachers, parents, school administrators and experts from across the country together with state leaders provided input into the development of the standards,” reads the website.

“The Common Core State Standards Initiative is a state-led effort that established a single set of clear educational standards for kindergarten through 12th grade in English language arts and mathematics that states voluntarily adopt,” says the website. “The standards are designed to ensure that students graduating from high school are prepared to enter credit bearing entry courses in two or four-year college programs or enter the workforce. The standards are clear and concise to ensure that parents, teachers, and students have a clear understanding of the expectations in reading, writing, speaking and listening, language and mathematics in school.”

But critics such as Lindsey Burke, a Will Skillman Fellow in Education Policy at The Heritage Foundation who has studied the standards, said the initiative is about federal funding and centralizing education rules.

“Common Core was developed by two national organizations, it’s adoption incentivized with billions in federal funding and waivers from the onerous provisions of No Child Left Behind, and the national tests funded with federal grants,” Burke said.

“These are not the hallmarks of a ‘state-led’ process,” she said. “Moreover, these are not high standards.”

“They are, to reference the work of Stanford Professor of Mathematics Emeritus James Milgram, standards that prepare students for ‘non-selective community colleges,’” Burke said. “The English Language Arts standards de-emphasize the reading of fiction and classic literature in favor of informational texts.”

“But most concerning, Common Core removes the ability of parents and teachers to direct academic content and will have a homogenizing effect on the educational choices available to families,” Burke said.

Jennifer Davis, co-founder and president of the National Center on Time and Learning, was the moderator of a panel discussion at the Center for American Progress on Jan. 31, 2014. (CNSNews.com/Penny Starr)

The Washington Post published a commentary on Jan. 20 by Marion Brady, a retired teacher and author, who explained why Common Core has been criticized by people of all political stripes.

“Few oppose standards, but a significant number oppose the Common Core State Standards,” Brady wrote. “Those on the political right don’t like the fact that—notwithstanding the word ‘State’ in the title—it was really the feds who helped to railroad the standards into place.”

“Resisters on the political left cite a range of reasons for opposing the standards—that they were shoved into place without research or pilot programs, that they’re a setup for national testing, that the real winners are manufacturers of tests and teaching materials because they can crank out the same stuff for everybody—just to begin a considerably longer list,” Brady wrote.

But Jennifer Davis, co-founder and president of the National Center on Time and Learning who moderated the panel at CAP, told CNSNews.com that teachers are “truly embracing” Common Core.

“On the teacher side, I mean, all of the work were doing all over the country we’re finding teachers truly embracing and knowing that Common Core is important for their children and for their future in their schools,” Davis said, adding at one point, “It takes a village” to get this kind of education reform accomplished.

The human female animal throughout the globe demands, genetically, security first. Many contemporary Islamic countries provide this male-female genetic reality primitively in the extreme and vile.

Western Leftists commit near- equal evil by propagandizing through its bureaucratic universities, dictatorships that the human sexes are all carbon copies of each other…..or should be made carbon copies of each other for the sake of peace, security, ‘kindness’, and Leftwing political dictatorships, whatever other pretty words the Obamaling world will use to advance their evil.

Democrats have destroyed the American urban black family over the past 50 years…..and now control almost in total, the power of the black vote. Over 50% of those who voted for Obama in 2012 pay NO federal income tax….and millions eat what food stamps will buy at govenment expense. Obamalings have concocted the present scheme to transfer one-sixth of the American economy to DICTATE THE NATURE OF AMERICAN HEALTH FOR THE ETERNAL FUTURE.

Feminized nations fear change. Invention, creativity,

WORDPRESS BOASTS ITS SUCCESS

As the nation is being torn apart by its enemies at home and abroad, WordPress, a collector-conduit of countless numbers of bloggers, advertises with pride the BEST of its business.

I share the most recent of their weekly boasts, in which they set as brief samples of the most successful, popular bloggings collecting the greatest number of readers:

(I note a generation gap…no, at least two generation gaps between conservative blog ‘talk’ content and the WordPress samples below)

from WORDPRESS:

“A sampling of writers on WordPress.com who made some noise last month:

Bloggers in the press, from the New York Times to Politico
Jack Monroe, the single mother blogging at A Girl Called Jack, has become an activist and voice on poverty in England. The New York Times profiled her in mid-January, while her cookbook of recipes on a budget is released on February 27. Jack’s story is inspiring, and we’re watching to see what she does next.

Jason Edward Harrington, blogger at Taking Sense Away and former TSA screener, shares stories and observations about his many years of employment at the Transportation Security Administration.

Last week, he dropped the layer of anonymity on his blog and published a piece on Politico, “Dear America, I Saw You Naked,” which introduces his story, background, and the material that will inspire his novel (which you can sample on WordPress.com, too).

Over at The New Yorker, Elias Muhanna — the assistant professor at Brown University who covers Lebanese politics, history, and culture at Qifa Nabki — wrote “Letter From Lebanon: A Bookshop Burns,” about an antiquarian bookstore in Tripoli set on fire.

Moving on to the entertainment section of the Huffington Post, Graham Milne pens a succinct, beautiful piece on Saving Mr. Banks and our complex relationships with our fathers, even long after they’re gone. The Toronto-based writer covers publishing, politics, and pop culture on his blog, and you’ll find more in his HuffPost columns.

The top reads that made waves

Who said open letters were so 2013? Nicki Daniels’ bold and humorous post, “An Open Letter to Bearded Hipsters,” caught the attention of readers:

YOU GUYS ARE RUINING MY BEARD FETISH. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved a man with a beard. To me, they meant strength, power, MANLINESS. Someone who could protect me. Unfortunately, you guys have turned it into a fashion statement.

It was so popular — both loved and hated — that she even published a follow-up, “I’m Sorry.”

When the newly crowned Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks, defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship, all eyes were on Richard Sherman after his post-game rant. Sherman’s column on The MMBQ with Peter King, “To Those Who Would Call Me a Thug or Worse,” got almost a million hits over two days:

To those who would call me a thug or worse because I show passion on a football field—don’t judge a person’s character by what they do between the lines. Judge a man by what he does off the field, what he does for his community, what he does for his family.

Two other popular posts in January, featured recently on Freshly Pressed, focused on the post-birth experience: Gas & Air’s “The Truth About Maternity Leave” was a big hit in the United Kingdom in particular, and “Baby’s Hungry: A Daddy’s Perspective on Nursing (and Nursing in Public)” was a great read and interesting take from a father on breastfeeding.

WordPresser now at Longreads
Nonfiction writer, essayist, and Editors’ Picks of the Year 2013 blogger Michael Hobbes is now blogging for Longreads, which archives and highlights the best longform writing across the web. If you’re already a reader of Michael’s excellent blog, Rottin’ in Denmark, be sure to follow along at his new gig.

We’re thrilled to see our writers getting the attention they deserve — congratulations! We look forward to what’s in store for February, and welcome anyone to leave their own recent accomplishments in the comments.”
