Rumsfeld Stars Again in Obama’s Handling of Afghanistan’s Karzai

Donald Rumsfeld in the News

I confess to all, Donald Rumsfeld is one of my favorite Americans in government over the past half century or more. Not least in his likeables, comes the famous uttering of “unknown unknowns” so true a wording in the human experience:

His analysis on nearly every front of government life has been spectacular, forthright, and honest…..and worth seeking…..and not least for his exceptional wording.

In the video below, Mr. Rumsfeld is being interviewed by a Fox Cable gal about the abuse which the Obama White House has pounded upon Afhanistan leader Karzai since the moment the president began dictating from the White House.

As usual, Mr. Rumsfeld is misquoted by writers, this time at realclearpolitics which offered the video.

The title these writers attached to the video, “A TRAINED APE COULD MANAGE AFGHANISTAN BETTER THAN OBAMA”, is a misquote….perhaps intentional to catch the reader’s eye and imagination…..

IN FACT FORMER SECRETARY OF DEFENSE, RUMSFELD SAID….”A TRAINED APE CAN GET A STATUS OF FORCES AGREEMENT” (with Afghanistan). “IT DOES NOT TAKE A GENIUS. WE HAVE SO MISMANAGED THAT RELATIONSHIP.”

It is always reassuring to know that occasionally honest, well educated, reasonable, and intelligent people sometimes matriculate into government service….unfortunately, nearly all of them conservatives these days.
