Hero Ayaan Hirsi Ali and the Lefty Devils at Brandeis

The following article was sent by Mark Waldeland.

To call Ayaan Hirsi Ali a “feminist” as occurs in the following headline, is an insult of the highest order. The word in its American practice is more akin to Nazi than any noun suggesting humanity.

I expect that the bureaucrats at the Boston Herald did not mean to insult this courageous hero of the first order.

Brandeis caves to protest over Ali honors

by Michael Graham at the Boston Herald:

“What was initially intended as an honor has now devolved into a moment of shaming.” — Feminist activist Ayaan
Hirsi Ali

If liberals at Brandeis University had any shame, she’d be right.

But Obama-era progressives have worked their way through the “shame” stage and moved on to “thuggery without regret.”

If you haven’t heard, Brandeis University had invited Ms. Ali to speak at its commencement and receive an honorary degree. By any measure, she is a worthy recipient. Having survived the horrors of life under Shariah in her home country of Somalia, Ali fled to the Netherlands where she became a successful academic and a member of parliament.

“I left the world of faith, of genital cutting and forced marriage for the world of reason and emancipation,” Ali wrote in her book “Infidel.” “After making this voyage I know that one of these two worlds is simply better than the other. Not for its gaudy gadgetry, but for its fundamental values.”

A film she produced depicting the abuse of women in some Muslim cultures resulted in her filmmaking partner’s assassination and a fatwa against her. Ali refused to be silenced. She continued her public fight for the rights of women in corners of the world that many Brandeis liberals ignore.

Ah, but those tend to be Muslim corners, and so the folks at CAIR (that’s the “Council of Angry Islamic Radicals,” right?) and some campus Muslims demanded Ali be silenced.

“There is a fine line between freedom of speech and hate speech. Hirsi Ali has shamelessly passed this boundary,” members of the Brandeis Muslim Student Association wrote in the campus paper. I wonder if they’d say the same if say, Imam Al-Qaradawi — who called for women to become suicide bombers while a founding father of the Islamic Society of Boston — were banned from their campus.

Or playwright Tony Kushner, who called the creation of Israel a “mistake” and calls its supporters “the most repulsive members of the Jewish community.”

Or Desmond Tutu, who compared the state of Israel to Hitler? How would Brandeis students feel if these speakers were banned?

Ah, but as Bill Kristol points out in the Weekly Standard, both of these men have received the same honorary degree that Brandeis is now denying to Ayaan Hirsi Ali. In fact, when some members of the Jewish community complained about honoring Kushner, Brandeis released the following statement:

“Just as Brandeis does not inquire into the political opinions and beliefs of faculty or staff before appointing them, or students before offering admission, so too the university does not select honorary degree recipients on the basis of their political beliefs or opinions.”

Unless they’re opinions that offend Muslims, that is. In which case, you’ll get “Firefoxed.”

That’s what happened to the former CEO of Mozilla who dared to have a “diverse” opinion on gay marriage and was forced out. Astonishingly, Mozilla’s statement announcing its decision to silence Brendan Eich included the following:

“Our culture of openness extends to encouraging staff and community to share their beliefs and opinions in public.”

Wow. Just … wow.

It’s one thing to practice jack-booted thought-policing. But declaring yourself a hero of tolerance and diversity while you’re silencing dissenters? That’s a new low even for the modern left.

Some free speech optimists believe that the backlash from these events will cause liberals to re-think their group-think. They’re wrong.

The only lesson the left is learning is “Hey — this censorship stuff works!”

House Racist, Elijah Cummings in on IRS Scandal?

“Handsome is as handsome does”….I was taught throughout my developing life…..

Regarding this standard, Democrat black racist, Elijah Cummings is one of the ugliest members of ObamaEra Congresses.

He is an ugly, shouting, devious party-line black racist in his foreground and apparently a fascist deviate active in his background.

Is he obstructing the House investigation of the fascistic Obama IRS scandal using ObamaGovernment agencies to block conservative groups organizing ‘rights’ leading up to the 2012 reelection of Barack Obama, Cummings, the leading ObamaDemocrat on this very House committee?

Apparently….and there will be more to come.

Do read the following Cummings scandal:

Health Insurers “Closed for Business”

by Twila Brase at Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom

Health insurers are shutting down for seven months. It’s virtually lights out. Unless you have a qualifying “life event,” you must wait until open enrollment begins Obamacare on November 15. A product once available year around for Americans to purchase no longer is. The entire industry now runs on the Obamacare schedule.

Perverse incentives written into the law lead to unimaginable outcomes. As the Associated Press reports,

“The law allows insurers to keep selling all year. But it also creates the conditions prompting them to stop. The law, which requires nearly all Americans to be insured or pay a fine, bans insurers from rejecting customers because of poor health. The companies say that makes it too risky to sell to individuals year-around.”

Only those who get married, move to another state, have a baby, lose a job, age out of their parent’s health plan or experience some other qualifying life event will be able to get individual insurance. Otherwise insurers are “closed for business”.

So what about health insurance agents? Are they out of work for seven months? The Obama administration never wanted the agent industry to survive. The whole point of the law was everyone would eventually get coverage through Obama’s exchange system.

The government exchange and the government call centers would become the new “agents” along with Acorn-like “navigators” with little training, no background checks and access to lots of private personal financial and medical data. Agents and brokers are considered an unnecessary expense.

One health insurance agent quoted by the AP, says he only learned a couple of weeks ago that insurers were cutting off all new plans: “It’s lousy communication out there…If we don’t know, my God, how do they expect other people to know? It’s terrible.”

On March 18, benefitspro reported that B. Ronnell Nolan, president of Health Agents for America, “said she hasn’t seen any carriers telling her they’ll have major medical coverage she can sell during the hiatus.” And eHealthInsurance.com is only expecting to sell to people with qualifying events. The article says agents can still sell “short-term medical and critical illness” policies. They can process Medicaid applications and help employers get off-exchange policies. But gone are any policies for individuals, a market once 19 million strong.

The individual mandate was Obama’s solution to his ban on pre-existing conditions. If everyone were forced to buy coverage, insurers would have no worries. But the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Americans have a constitutional right to go uninsured. So an entire industry goes dark for seven months. There is nothing American about this.

Let’s repeal Obamacare before the private market can no longer resurrect itself and all agents have found new careers and left the rest of us to the government bureaucrats. Donate generously to CCHF’s mission to make repeal a reality.

And don’t forget: the three Christian health-sharing ministries are far less expensive, expanding rapidly, and open for business all year long. Membership provides you with an Obamacare exemption. Check them out.

While Obama Sits on Keystone Pipeline

Waiting for Keystone XL Approval
April 10, 2014 from the National Center for Policy Analysis:

A “yes” decision on the Keystone XL project could come soon, says the Financial Post.

•President Obama began stalling on the Keystone XL pipeline approval three years ago.
•At the end of February, Obama told state governors that his decision on the pipeline would be out in a couple of months, and the State Department is in the final days of determining whether a revised Keystone XL route makes sense — leaving markets expecting a decision any day now.
After the State Department released its environmental impact statement, showing no negative impact from the pipeline, groups have been expecting the project finally to receive the green light.

•Opinion polls indicate that Americans support approval, and Republican and Democrat lawmakers have come out in favor of the project.
•On top of this, Russia’s latest aggression lends support to the case that the United States needs energy independence, with many pushing for U.S. exports to Europe.
Canada has suffered from the Keystone XL delay — it has depressed Canadian oil prices, hurt profits and affected government revenue.

•Canadian currency has grown weaker in the wake of uncertainty about oil market access, and energy transactions have slowed.
•Investors have been watching the conflict over the pipeline unfold. If the pipeline is approved, Canada’s dollar and energy markets should see a boost.
•Forty percent of Canada’s exports are energy, and oil and refined petroleum products constitute a quarter of all Canadian exports.
Hedge funds have generally not been betting on a Keystone XL decision because the approval process is so unpredictable.

Lefties Rail Against First Amendment Right for Conservatives

What is it in the English Language Americans speak and read do Leftist mouths and other similars not understand about the First Amendment to the Law of the Land, the Federal Constitution??

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

At present the Obama establishment makes big complaint often about the Koch brothers donating dollars to conservative causes. Another complaint stirs this establishment when the Supreme Court’s conservative majority recently chose to reduce some restrictions regarding political donations from individuals and groups beyond lefty labor unions.

Most dollars sent to political circles in recent national elections come from very wealthy groups and individuals selling Democrats for public office. Most conservatives still remember and understand that the Federal Constitution is the supreme law decider of the country, not Barack Hussein Obama, Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid, and therefore don’t insult the American electorate on the dollar donation matter.

Thomas Sowell writes at Investors’ Business Daily writes:

“The recent Supreme Court decision over-ruling some Federal Election Commission restrictions on political campaign contributions has provoked angry reactions on the left. That is what often happens whenever the High Court rules that the First Amendment means what it says — free speech for everybody.

When the Supreme Court declared in 2010 that both unions and corporations had a right to buy political ads, that was considered outrageous by the left. President Obama called the decision “devastating” and said it “will open the floodgates for special interests.”

Those unfamiliar with political rhetoric may not know that “special interests” mean people who support your opponents. One’s own organized supporters — such as labor unions supporting President Obama — are never called “special interests.”

Please read on:

Harry Reid, Democrat in Control of the United States Senate appears unread regarding the Constitution, believing its restrictions are not for “we Lefties” in the Land but certainly for “thee conservatives”. Click below to witness his wit:
