Tom Beyer Buys Obama Vote on Keystone

President Obama chooses $$$$ even over politics. The following article was written by John Hinderaker at PowerLine:

The Epic Hypocrisy of Tom Steyer

Billionaire hedge fund operator and “green” energy magnate Tom Steyer has pledged $100 million in the 2014 election cycle to help Democratic candidates who oppose the Keystone pipeline and who favor “green” energy over fossil fuels. Steyer claims to be a man of principle who has no financial interest in the causes he supports, but acts only for the public good. That is a ridiculous claim: Steyer is the ultimate rent-seeker who depends on government connections to produce subsidies and mandates that make his “green” energy investments profitable. He also is, or was until recently, a major investor in Kinder Morgan, which is building a competitor to the Keystone pipeline. Go here, here, here, here, here and here for more information about how Steyer uses his political donations and consequent connections to enhance his already vast fortune.

But Steyer’s hypocrisy goes still deeper. Today, he is a bitter opponent of fossil fuels, especially coal. That fits with his current economic interests: banning coal-fired power plants will boost the value of his solar projects. But it was not always thus. In fact, Steyer owes his fortune in large part to the fact that he has been one of the world’s largest financers of coal projects. Tom Steyer was for coal before he was against it.

The Government vs. the American Character

Dear Friend,

The American government has undergone a radical transformation over the past 50 years. It is no longer a limited institution that safeguards Constitutional rights. It has been transformed into a huge entitlement machine whose primary function is to take wealth from certain citizens and transfer that wealth to politically favored groups.

In this week’s video, “The Government vs. the American Character,” author Nicholas Eberstadt shows you exactly how much the government has grown, and where all the money goes. Is this bad for traditional American values? Watch the video here and find out.

Teaching Tribalization of America in Chicago Public Schools

Preaching black racism in the public high school?

by Chuck Ross at the Daily Caller:

Chicago public schools are set to introduce a new Afro-centric curriculum, according to a closely-guarded copy obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

The curriculum covers kindergarten through tenth grade and is designed to align with Common Core. It includes a web link to TheAfrican.com, a website whose publisher decries “fake-Jews” and calls the United States a “Zionist-occupied enemy territory.”

The site also claims that the world will end sometime this year and that President Barack Obama is “merely another trick of [the beast of the 4th Kingdom].”

The new Chicago curriculum was announced last December.

“CPS has taken great pride in developing a yearlong, interdisciplinary African and African-American studies program that will enrich the understanding and appreciation of African and African-American history and culture to help build stronger and more cohesive student communities,” said Chicago Public School chief executive Byrd Bennett in an announcement of the curriculum, dubbed IAAAS.

CPS began developing IAAAS after a push last year from groups that wanted to implement a state law passed in 1990 that required public schools to offer one unit on African-American history.

But CPS went above and beyond, implementing the curriculum across all core disciplines, which include literacy, mathematics, science, social science, the arts, physical education and health.

“The law said it had to be one unit devoted to the history of African-Americans,” Annette Gurley, CPS chief officer of teaching and learning told the Chicago Tribune in 2013. “What we’ve done is we’ve taken it throughout the year for all subjects, not just one subject.”

Fox Lefty Juan Williams: Still Hope for More Obama Tricks and Deceit in Our Future

So you want more rape, pillage, and burn for America? More deceit, disorder, and lefty authoritarianism? More crooks and nutmegs in Washington sending their Death Squads to steal cattle, count to steal more votes to his America seal up your church, house, and neighborhood talk group?

Juan Williams, practicing lefty at Cable Fox shares his hope for Obama’s America to continue Obama’s America:

Williams: Still hope for Democrats in 2014

By Juan Williams – 04/21/14 06:30 AM EDT

“Is there anyway Democrats can win the 17 seats they need to capture the House majority this November?

In one word: Yes.

Democrats picked up 8 seats two years ago despite widespread predictions of losses. They lost 12 seats in 2012 by less than five percentage points and another 18 seats by less than 10 percentage points.

Also keep in mind that every poll shows the public agrees with Democrats on the big issues – gay marriage, pay equity for women, immigration, gun control and budget cuts.
Meanwhile, the GOP brand remains unpopular. The biggest advantage for House Democrats is that they are running against Republicans. That party’s good name suffered from last fall’s government shutdown, a strategy of obstruction that has paralyzed the Congress, and the recent vote in support of a budget that privatizes Medicare.

Another plus for Democrats is that the GOP’s misguided message to voters for the fall elections – “Obamacare is a Failure.” That claim is out of date with the success of 7 million people enrolling and 3 million more gaining insurance through Medicaid expansion. The kill healthcare reform message, with endless GOP votes in the House for repeal, also irritates swing voters. Polling shows Independents want to fix Obamacare, not kill it.

But even with all those advantages the odds remain against Democrats getting enough wins to make Nancy Pelosi the Speaker of the House. Top political analysts, from Charlie Cook to Larry Sabato, currently predict Republicans adding two or three seats to easily retain their majority.
