Britain to Return to Home Rule

I have spent about a full year of my life in “Great Britain”….the main isle, that is.   I was entering my third phase of adult professional  life, the 1990s,  returning to my life’s hobby passion, making art of the landscape garden.

The longest landscape season in my Minnesota is winter…..Here, it equals all other landscape seasons combined.   Therefore it was in winter I had the time and energy to return to part of my ancestry both Scot and English to explore garden, cathedral and the beauties  created  by God and man, which led to the most civilized collection of human behaviors ever known to mankind, the nations of today’s English speaking countries.

Name them, if you dare or can.

Britain has been dying as an English nation  and culture, with the exception of the Margaret Thatcher era, since the horrors of World War I and II.   It was still breathing oxygen during my visits prior to the turn of the century.

I was praying Old England, the Brexit folks,  would win,  leave the European Union and return to a nation of citizens  rather than one dictated from Brussels’ bureaucrats, the foreigner government rich, the leftists who needed British prosperity to feed the Mediterranean populations who preferred to smoke and sit along the sandy beaches or sail the Aegean to pass the time away.

Do read the following article, much less romantic details of the close Brexit contest, “to secede or not secede….that is the question!

One Response

  1. Hooray for the indomitable Brits who have voted to retain their sovereignty, political autonomy, language, culture, and borders. They have said no to the German-controlled Brussels bureaucrats. Now I’ll make plans to visit the UK, this time to celebrate their triumph. After all, what are cousins for, eh?…Will you join me?

And this November don’t be coy to chase that Ol’ donkey in DC off the farm. Yah heah!…
