Hillary Clinton: My record as Secretary of State proves I take classified material seriously

“Hillary Clinton was interviewed by Scott Pelley of CBS News today and offered a new defense of her careless handling of classified material. You’ll be shocked to learn it was all someone else’s fault. In addition, she actually had the gall to point to her record as Secretary of State as proof that she takes the handling of classified information seriously.

“And to the voters who wonder whether you can be trusted with the nation’s secrets, you say what?” Scott Pelley asked. “I say I have been and I have proven that over the course of my 8 years in the Senate; my four years as Secretary of State,” Clinton replied. She added with a straight face, “I take classified material seriously and this investigation has proven that I had no intent to do anything wrong….”

This thread, that Clinton was just a victim of circumstance, came out earlier in the same interview. Asked if she was “extremely careless” in handling classified information, Clinton first changed the subject to a couple of documents which contained classified markings. Then, without mentioning that over 100 classified emails were found on her private server, Clinton turned the blame on the rest of the State Department. “I worked with over 300 people during email exchanges, predominantly in the State Department,” she said. “I had no reason to second guess their judgments about the material that they were exchanging and that they would forward or send to me.”…….With Hillary, there is always more……please continue reading:

Black Congresswoman Charged for Big Time Corruption

DEMOCRAT CONGRESSWOMAN CHARGED WITH BRAZEN FRAUD

Congresswoman Corinne Brown, who represents Jacksonville, Florida, has been charged with an extraordinary fraud, even by Congressional standards:

U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown was indicted Friday on charges she used some $800,000 in charitable donations as a “personal slush fund” for items that included box seats to a Beyonce concert and an NFL game, the Justice Department said.

Where do you suppose she got that idea?

Court documents show [Brown and her chief of staff] allegedly spent money earmarked for the One Door for Education charity for personal travel, luxury hotels, Beyonce concert tickets, box seats at a NFL game and a personal IRS debt, among other expenses.

Apparently, out of the $800,000 raised only $1,200 was used for educational purposes.

“Our office is committed to ferreting out and prosecuting all forms of corruption and fraud, regardless of who the offender is,” U.S. Attorney A. Lee Bentley III said. “In our nation, no one is above the law.”

The timing of that announcement is a little unfortunate. He might want to say, hardly anyone is above the law.

The shooting death of Alton Sterling is the type of encounter that law enforcement officers dread: responding to a vague call about someone with a gun. The officers in Baton Rouge were told Sterling had a gun in his pocket and that he had been threatening others with it. They had no way of knowing for sure if they were headed to a really bad situation, like an active shooter, or a potential false alarm. Prudence dictated that the officers brace themselves for the worst and hope for the best.

Whether officers decide to use a Taser or other force to subdue someone, their split-second decisions will definitely be closely scrutinized. It’s important for them to stay focused and calm and to try to avoid escalating tense situations whenever possible. We need more information in this case before drawing conclusions about whether this police use of force was legally justified. With that disclaimer, my instinct, based on what we do know, is that it was probably justified under the law. However, there is a difference between “justified” and “necessary” — and whether it was necessary is a question that can only be answered after the independent investigation has run its course. A proper investigation is an objective quest for the truth based on evidence — not emotion.

The reason this officer-involved shooting was most likely legally justified is that in 1989, in deciding the case of Graham v. Conner, the Supreme Court provided a legal standard on the police use of force that is quite flexible. The issue of justification depends in large measure on the eye of the beholder. Under Graham, all police use of force must be “objectively reasonable.”   Please read on:

Sheriff David Clarke Blasts Obama for Dallas Police Massacre

“Never one to mince words, Sheriff David Clarke today blamed President Obama for creating the racial unrest that led to the police massacre in Dallas. During his appearance on Fox Business, Clarke spoke in measured tones, but his extreme dislike of the president and his policies came through loud and clear.

Clarke wasn’t impressed by Obama’s remarks in Warsaw earlier today, where he condemned the “vicious, calculated and despicable” attack on police officers.

“I don’t believe there’s any sincerity behind the president’s words,” Clarke began. “Just yesterday he was popping off at the mouth again — exploiting the situations in Louisiana and Minnesota — exploiting it on the basis of race. He has no foundation for that. There’s no data or research that suggests or proves anything he thinks in terms of disparity.”

Obama posted a screed on Facebook Thursday afternoon that blamed the police for the racial disparities within the criminal justice system. “All Americans should recognize the anger, frustration, and grief that so many Americans are feeling,” Obama wrote. “What’s clear is that these fatal shootings are not isolated incidents. They are symptomatic of the broader challenges within our criminal justice system, the racial disparities that appear across the system year after year, and the resulting lack of trust that exists between law enforcement and too many of the communities they serve.”   Please read on:
