Rand Paul Assaulted by Disturbed Socialist Neighbor

MORE ON THE DEMOCRAT’S ASSAULT ON RAND PAUL

by John Hinderaker at PowerLine:

“The Washington Post has an update on the apparently-unprovoked attack on Senator Rand Paul by his neighbor, Rene Boucher. Paul’s injuries were initially described as “minor,” but that is not the case. Boucher broke five ribs, and Paul suffered lung contusions and facial injuries as well. Apparently Boucher blind-sided the senator while Paul was mowing his lawn, or had just completed mowing his lawn. Paul’s staff says his ability to return to his Senate duties is unknown. Hopefully his recovery will not be as difficult or as prolonged as Steve Scalise’s.

The Post says that “[a] motive is not known, and there is no indication that the attack was political in nature.” But the paper’s own reporting negates that claim:

Jeff Jones, a registered nurse who worked with Boucher at the Bowling Green Medical Center, described Boucher’s politics as “liberal.”

“He was active on social media and said some negative things about the Republican agenda,” Jones said.

“I think it was unfortunate that they lived so close together,” he added.

A Facebook page that appeared to be Boucher’s included links to articles and memes critical of President Trump and a news article about a Montana Republican congressional candidate who attacked a reporter the day before winning his seat. …

Jim Bullington, a former member of the city commission, knows both men. He said Sunday that Boucher is divorced and lives alone. Bullington described Boucher as a socialist.

“He’s pretty much the opposite of Rand Paul in every way,” Bullington said in an interview.

The neighbors had been known to have “heated discussions” about health care, Bullington said, adding that Boucher is an advocate of a national health system.

Maybe new facts will emerge. Maybe there is some other reason why Boucher assaulted Senator Paul, like a boundary dispute or an argument over a barking dog. But that seems unlikely. At present, it appears that Boucher’s assault of the Republican senator is another instance of political violence prompted by the climate of hate that has been fostered by the Democratic Party. Where will it end?…….”

“The special counsel statute is a very poor idea”

WHAT THE H*** IS MUELLER INVESTIGATING? AND WHY?

by John Hinderaker  at PowerLine:

“This morning’s Minneapolis Star Tribune reported, in a story that doesn’t seem to have gotten a lot of national attention, that Robert Mueller’s ever-widening investigation has ensnared Vin Weber, a former Minnesota Congressman and long-time Washington lobbyist:

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s grand jury is investigating a prominent Democratic lobbyist and a former Minnesota GOP congressman for their involvement in an influence campaign on behalf of Ukrainian interests tied to Paul Manafort, according to a person with direct knowledge of the investigation.

Mueller’s operation is leaking on a more or less daily basis. Isn’t that illegal? Aren’t grand jury proceedings supposed to be secret? Maybe the Attorney General should appoint a special counsel to look into possible crimes associated with leaks by Mueller’s staff.

With the emphasis on the Ukrainian lobbying efforts, Mueller’s criminal probe is moving beyond investigating ties between the Trump campaign and Russia and is aggressively pursuing people who worked as foreign agents without registering with the Justice Department.

But wait! Mueller’s investigation isn’t supposed to “move beyond investigating ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.” The Order appointing Mueller empowers him to investigate “any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and…any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation.” It seems that the current focus of Mueller’s efforts is lobbying that was carried out on behalf of one of Ukraine’s political factions, or, more broadly, failure to register as a foreign agent with the Justice Department by anyone, at any time. This is not what Mueller was appointed to do.

FBI agents working for Mueller are asking witnesses about meetings between Gates, Podesta and Weber to discuss the lobbying work in detail and any communication with representatives of a pro-Russian Ukrainian political party, according to two people familiar with the interviews who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the investigation.

“There were questions about how much Podesta and Vin Weber were involved. There was a lot of interest there,” one of them said.

FBI agents also expressed interest in the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, which produced a 2012 report used to justify the jailing of an opposition politician in Ukraine.

Skadden Arps is one of America’s most prominent law firms. What does any of this have to do with purported collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, years later?

Both people said that investigators on Mueller’s team have asked about what the lobbyists knew about the source of the funding and who was directing the work in 2012 — long before Manafort became Trump’s campaign chairman in 2016.

I repeat: what does any of this have to do with the ostensible purpose of Mueller’s investigation?

According to Manafort’s indictment, he and Gates “engaged in weekly and at times daily calls and emails with (company 1 and company 2) to provide them directions as to specific lobbying steps that should be taken and to receive reports back as to the results of such lobbying.” The two firms were the Podesta Group and Mercury.

In addition, Manafort’s and Gates’ 2017 disclosure forms “misrepresented the relationship among (the Targets), the Ukrainian government, the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine (ECFMU), and two U.S. lobbying firms,” the government said.

This is interesting, more or less, but it is not what Mueller was directed to investigate.

Skadden’s involvement with Manafort stems from its production of a 2012 report downplaying the political motivations of the Ukrainian government in jailing an opposition leader, Yulia Tymoshenko.

The report, written by former Obama White House counsel Gregory Craig, found that Tymoshenko’s trial was procedurally flawed but not marked by political persecution. The Ukrainian justice ministry officials who supposedly commissioned the report trumpeted it as proof that Tymoshenko was not a political prisoner.

And the 2012 report on “the political motivations of the Ukrainian government” relates to the Trump campaign’s alleged cooperation with Russian elements in the 2016 election…how?

The special counsel statute is a very poor idea, and Mueller’s implementation of it illustrates why. The job of a special counsel (or special prosecutor, as he was formerly called) is to hang scalps on the wall. Whose scalps, or why they were taken, is incidental at best. President Trump would be fully justified in firing Robert Mueller, but a better idea, in my opinion, would be to appoint several more special counsels to look into various Democratic misdeeds. That would bring this whole farce to a screeching halt….”

God Bless Dennis Prager

Today is  early winter in Minnesota.  It snowed a few inches with the temperatures hovering around 31 degrees at night and 34 daytime.  I have a half acre landscape garden to tend to before the real snow and cold come to roost.

I am a total believer in what has happened in life was meant to happen.   I am a total believer in the mystery of God (“good”), if you prefer.   “There is neither good, nor bad,” the ancient adage dictates…”Only thinking makes it so!”…..the curious ancient Greeks, I was told early in my life, advertised  the point.

I was also a school child of the Second World War.  Keep this in mind when I refer to the topic below of today’s Dennis Prager’s lesson in American life.

Patriotism was keen and active in those days, the war years.  Seventeen year old boys were disappearing from the home front on their way to the Pacific or Great Britain.  My first window of awareness came in June, 1942 with the arrival of the battle of Midway, when I began to read newspapers, beginning with headings….such as “Major Battle Waging at Midway”….on the front page of a Sunday St. Paul Pioneer Press that month.  A seventeen year old cousin of mine, Dale Chapin, (actually a step-uncle, a son of my step-grandmother, Bertha…..my own grandmother had died years before I was born)  had joined the Navy and had already been sent off to the Pacific front.  Death was very common among families in those days.

I couldn’t read novels, but I sure could read cutlines, maps, headlines,  paragraphs and stories about the war fronts.   Dale’s older brother, Roy, was already sailing on some warship out in the Far East.   “Snowbound”, a true short story about Norway children salvaging gold from their  Nazis occupiers, was read to the class.   A pledge of allegiance “to the flag” was recited every school day with pride and hope, when  Minnesota  school days were always open when scheduled, even when the mornings were 28 degrees Fahrenheit below zero…or worse.

Dennis was at his very  best today….both in delivery and content….for all three hours of broadcast….identifying the evils of our recent decade of leftist  Obama world assault on our  freedom of expression and thought established and long time cherished  by   the Godfearing founders of the American REPUBLIC.

And then there came Obama-crime’s dismantling of things American with the invasion of nearly 30,000,000 immigrants political and/or illegal to cause a leftist revolution to destroy the industry, the freedoms, the ideas and ideals American!

I was in the sixth grade, the class with a gifted teacher, Miss Koeneman, in charge, age forty going on seventy in appearance in those days.  (I am positive she was sympathetic to Hitler’s Germany at one time.   She visited the country on two occasions in the early 1930s  and had collected spectacular black and white slides of pre-war Nazi parades and festivities which she showed to the class….I think to remind us of “better days” of life….Allied troops were already closing in on the Third Reich itself.

Dennis preached the difference between a republican and democratic form of governing, the lesson I learned in that Miss Koeneman’s sixth grade class.

Our forefathers were devoted to the  stability of free expression, not its violence.   Democracy, that is,  government by the dictate of the majority, does not ensure a people’s  free expression to solve problems in the most Godlike manner.  Rule by people shouldn’t come from ones  feelings of the day or hour, but from established law based upon  knowledge and truth achieved by deep thought and study  by a Godfearing population.

We Americans then, were supposed to study to become more learned so we could solve our problems and secure our successes more fulfilling, more Godlike.

The Obama Democrat Party today is a gathering of very leftist feminist and racist hysterics…of all sexes, colors, shapes and sizes who reek of feelings rather than  pursuit of knowledge and Truth.

It is the natural emotional response of the female human animal who demands security uber alles by instinct….. a human animal born to bear children, NOT born to hunt and kill, nor  to invent and discover, to  problem solve, to build, explore, to defend, protect,  wonder, and to kill, if deemed necessary…….but, to seek security and peace at all costs to raise her children to maturity,  primarily by instinct.

The human male animal  is born a killer.   The human female animal  is born ditsy.  It has been  our western, our American, our JudeoChristian male and female  belief that through learning and knowledge,   we homo sapiens will best, most humanly    survive as civilized, as learned, as Godfearing, as Godlike  as possible,  as long as the human animal  exists…after all, we are thinking animals with a living conscience.

In today’s femi- leftist America,  learning knowledge or having a conscience is considered old time and sexist male.   Feminists of all sexes, shapes, colors, and sizes insist their feelings must now dominate humanity forever more….”until wisdom is rediscovered” anyway, if there’s still time.
