Dear Ghr, though I am recovering from a fractured right forearm and wrist, and cannot use the keyboard for long periods until I’m fully recovered, but I have my able left arm to proudly waive “Old Glory” and my Trump 2020 sign to let everyone know where I stand. Oh, yes; our man has confounded the seditious DNC and the others who seek to destroy our “exceptional” nation.
…Thank You, Mr. President…
Mr. President, I agree with you in the matter of bringing our soldiers in Northern Syria back home. And yes, we should remain in Northern Iraq with the pro-America Kurds. You have sensibly negotiated a truce to permit the safe exodus of the other “Kurds” in Northern Syria, while making it clear that you will not commit American soldiers to defend Turkey’s aggressive incursion in Syria, or anywhere else.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, contrary to Turkey’s secular founder Kamal Ataturk, may want an Islamic Turkey, but a new Ottoman empire would not be welcome in Tehran and/or Riyadh.
Mr. President, we commend you for recognizing Turkey as a NATO ally but not accepting Turkey’s “self-serving” aggressive posture. Yours was a smart move to send Messrs. Pence and Pompeo to meet with Mr. Erdogan. It was great diplomacy to have entrusted these capable and pensive diplomats with such a crisis, your trust in them morally elevates our nation. Indeed, you are not only a man of great courage and vision but also a sharp and patient observer of Middle-Eastern history, cultures, and politics. In fact, you shrewdly anticipated Russia’s desperate attempt to keep its naval base in Tartus even as Moscow sinks in the quicksand of the Middle East. C’était bien pensé.
Now, Mr. President, it is time to bring our troops back home. There is nothing more wonderful for a weary warrior than to be home for the Holidays. I know the feeling.
Note:
Congressman Elijah Cummings (D) has passed on. Now, regardless of his imperfections in life, it is right for us to extend our condolences to his family; for it is our moral and spiritual imperative.
Best Regards,
