Wuss MPLS Mayor Calls for COP-LIKES?

Minneapolis: We Should Bring In Some Outside Cops To Replace All The Ones We Abolished

by JAZZ SHAW at HotMail:

After the city of Minneapolis voted to defund their police earlier this year in response to all of the George Floyd riots, things didn’t work out particularly well. Crime was steadily rising while residents grew increasingly frightened, angry and vocal about conditions out on the streets. Now, after more than 500 shootings and 70 murders, it appears that the message was finally starting to sink in. We learned earlier this week that the City Council was planning a vote for Friday where they would decide on a possible infusion of $500,000 to bring in outside law enforcement officers to bolster the ranks of the city police.

Yesterday, a closely divided council narrowly voted to approve the funds and the extra officers. What’s truly remarkable here is that even with things going to hell in a handbasket on the streets of Minneapolis, they still almost failed to approve a measure like this. On top of that, as soon as the measure passed, they found out that it may not be possible to implement it anyway.

Minneapolis officials plan to bring in outside law enforcement officers to help amid a shortage — but the new teams might not form in the way initially expected.

A divided City Council on Friday approved nearly $500,000 to contract with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and Metro Transit police for extra officers. Together, they would work on joint enforcement teams responding to 911 calls or targeting hot spots for violence around the city…

It’s been a tumultuous year for the Minneapolis Police Department, with some people pushing to abolish it after George Floyd’s death and others asking for more officers amid a wave of violent crime and a staffing shortage. About 500 people have been wounded by gunfire this year, and more than 70 have been killed.

ABORTION VICTIMS: Where Are the Bodies?

I think we are in rats’ alley where the dead men lost their bones. — T.S. Eliot, The Wasteland

Jonathon Van Maren at the Stream:

I have been in the pro-life movement for over 10 years, and sometimes I think I have seen abortion from every angle. I’ve seen gut-wrenching videos of abortions in progress. I’ve seen footage of a late-term abortionist hammering scissors into a bloody wound in a baby’s skull, blood pulsing everywhere. I’ve seen thousands of pictures. I contributed a written reflection to a book of photographs of abortion victims. But every so often, somebody says something that suddenly snaps everything into focus once again.

Where Do You Put 65 Million Children?

It was last summer, at a conference hosted by Protect Life Michigan. I was speaking on why men should join the pro-life movement. One of the other speakers was my friend Dr. Monica Miller from Citizens for a Pro-Life Society. During a panel on abortion victim photography, someone asked us for a question we could ask that would highlight the magnitude of what abortion has cost us. Monica paused for a moment. Then she responded. “Where do you put sixty-five million bodies?”

Where do you put sixty-five million bodies?

That question crystallizes everything. Abortion isn’t about reproductive rights. It isn’t about healthcare. It is about people. Those people have bodies. And those bodies go somewhere after they have been poisoned, dismembered and suctioned into bloody slurry. Where do they go? Philosophers have asked through the ages: Where do we go after we die? With abortion, the question we need to ask is similar: Where do they go after we kill them?

Going Through the Dumpsters

Monica Miller knows of what she speaks. The first chapter of her magnificent memoir Abandoned: The Untold Story of the Abortion Wars is titled, simply, “Bodies.” She describes going through a dumpster in an alley behind an abortion clinic, retrieving garbage bags. And she describes what they found:

The bag was stuffed with an unrecognizable material … I turned it over in my hands, trying to make sense of it. At last my eyes recognized a shape crammed tightly against the plastic. It jumped out at me — an arm, disconnected from anything else that would have helped me see it for what it was. And then my eyes distinguished another arm, and then a severed foot, a full inch in length.

I had been staring at arms but did not see arms. I had no prior context by which my brain could recognize them. They were the dismembered limbs of a completely torn and mutilated body and, up until that day, my eyes had never been confronted with such a reality. It was as if an alien word had been spoken, a word I could not at first fully understand until, after much straining, I finally comprehended the message. Someone was trying to speak to me through the silent, shocking vestige of this broken body.

Voiceless Victims Speak

The baby was a little boy. After reassembling him, Miller began to photograph him. The pro-life activist with her, Joe Scheidler, couldn’t watch long. “I can’t look at him anymore.” He was, Miller wrote, “a hideous parody of a living baby.” Over the years, Miller would take thousands of these photographs of the babies she retrieved from dumpsters. Even The New York Times would run a series of her photos. Through Miller’s work, these voiceless victims speak from the dumpsters and the trash cans.

Joe Scheidler, the “Godfather of Direct Pro-Life Action,” described the same scene in his 2016 memoir Racketeer for Life. After going through the dumpsters, he wrote, the garbage bags of babies were taken to his garage. There was a clear bag full of fluid in one of them:

“Monica picked it up and looked through the fluid. Then she shifted the bag, and a severed arm appeared. It was a baby boy of at least six months gestation, cut to pieces by the abortionist. We took him and laid out his broken body on a paper towel.”

The chapter describing that scene is titled “To Bury the Dead.” But before the children were laid to rest, Scheidler, Miller and other pro-lifers did something extraordinary. On May 6, 1987, they carried the aborted children by hearse to the front of the abortion clinic where they had been killed. They laid the babies tenderly on long tables, and held a press conference. The pro-abortion press erupted. Not because the babies had been killed, of course. But because they had been seen. They had, in some strange way, escaped from the trash to tell their stories.

Face to Face

I know many pro-life activists who have come face to face with the aborted dead. They often look haunted when they talk about it. There is something strange and insane about having seen the bodies of murdered children that were murdered legally. It is even stranger to have held babies that abortion activists insist are not babies. The abortion industry essentially survives by gaslighting the public. We tell them what we have seen, and they swear it isn’t true; that we haven’t seen what we’ve seen. Who are you going to believe, us or your lying eyes? Please Support The Stream: Equipping Christians to Think Clearly About the Political, Economic and Moral Issues of Our Day.

I remember the first time I went through a dumpster behind an abortion clinic. The moment I pulled my gloved hand out of a garbage bag, and it was covered in blood. My brain froze with an unanswerable question: Is this baby blood, or mommy blood? We couldn’t tell, of course. It was impossible. The bags were filled with blood-spattered papers; crimson, flaking suction curettes; tubes with bits of flesh stuck to the sides, left there by the babies that had to disintegrate to get suctioned through. Folded into a blue terrycloth, there was even a tiny, translucent arm. It was severed at the shoulder, and the fingers were spread out. Waving goodbye? Gone so soon?

Between all of the garbage bags, I think there were the scraps and spatters of over fifty abortions. Roughly two kindergarten classes in plastic bags. Lifetimes shoved into dumpsters. The fruit of the womb yanked free and thrown away to rot. Tiny heads split open like overripe cherries. A nightmare not on Elm Street, but on our street — with a far, far higher kill count.

I’ve Seen Them Myself

I’ve written before, too, of the little boy I saw in the jar. He’d been retrieved from a dumpster and was floating in formaldehyde. There was no name on the jar, because he was an orphan and he’d been orphaned on purpose. There was only the location of the clinic where he was killed. Plus a phone number in case someone wanted to make an appointment to kill his brothers or sisters. I held him, and felt him move in the jar. And it was so strange to think: His mother doesn’t know I’m looking at her son. His father might not know he exists. But he’s here — his body, anyways. Irrefutable evidence that he was briefly with us, and belonged to people who didn’t want him.

Where do you put sixty-five million bodies? It is a question nobody wants to consider. Because when we do, we know. We flush them down toilets. We stuff them down drains. We put them in barrels and medical waste containers. We tie them up in garbage bags with blood-spattered junk mail. We put them in dumpsters. We burn their bodies in incinerators — it doesn’t take long, because we didn’t let them grow long. We send them by UPS to university labs to be pillaged for usable organs and body parts. We unleash a hidden nightmare that nobody can see, and everyone pretends isn’t happening.

But it is. I know where the bodies are buried. I’ve seen them myself.

Texas Nursing Home Worker Charged With 134 Counts Of Election Fraud

JAZZ SHAW at HotAir:

I know what most of you are thinking after reading this headline. That can’t be right. I was repeatedly assured by the people at CNN that this never happens and it’s all fake news generated by Trump supporters.

Well, if it is, they’re doing a really good job of getting law enforcement officials in Texas to go along with the gag. This news comes to us straight from the Texas Attorney General’s office. In Austin, a woman named Kelly Reagan Brunner who was working at a Supported Living Center for senior citizens has been arrested and charged with more than 100 counts of voter fraud. As we’ve seen far too often already, she was allegedly taking advantage of the diminished mental capacity of her patients to register them to vote and request ballots on their behalf. Many of the patients in question had previously been declared totally mentally incapacitated by a court. (CBS Dallas-Ft. Worth)https://9b8d5d219ce28e87821b9b38d87fd71d.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-37/html/container.htmlTRENDING:

Republican declares victory in closest House race in the country (but there’s going to be a recount)

A social worker in the Mexia State Supported Living Center has been charged with 134 felony counts in an election fraud investigation.

The Texas Attorney General’s Office’s Election Fraud Unit assisted the Limestone County Sheriff and District Attorney in charging Kelly Reagan Brunner.

If convicted, Brunner faces up to 10 years in prison for the alleged offenses.

State Supported Living Centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the AG’s office explained in a news release Friday, Nov. 6.

The Mexia State Supported Living Center isn’t one of your run of the mill nursing homes for the elderly and infirm, some of whom may genuinely need and desire assistance with the registration and voting process. It’s an assisted living facility specifically serving the intellectually and developmentally challenged. In case this isn’t sinking in yet, Ms. Brunner was stealing the votes of the mentally impaired.

Even if that weren’t the case, Brunner would still be guilty of voter fraud. If some of the residents there had been begging her to register them, Texas election laws only allow a parent, spouse or child who is a qualified voter of the county to serve as an agent for the voter and register them on their behalf. Unless all of the residents turned out to be relatives of Brunner, she’s still looking at up to a decade behind bars.

The Attorney General’s investigation revealed that not one of the patients in question had given effective consent for Brunner to register them. So is there some other, more innocent explanation as to what was going on in the assisted living center? I certainly can’t think of one. This woman wasn’t registering senior citizens to vote as some sort of hobby. She obviously planned to cast votes on their behalf in violation of the law. Further investigation should reveal whether or not any ballots in the names of those patients showed up and were eventually counted.

Let’s keep in mind the fact that Kelly Reagan Brunner was just one person who happened to get caught. How many more stories like this one are out there? Just this week we learned that as many as 25,000 residents of various Pennsylvania nursing homes all requested mail-in ballots at the same time. What are the odds of that? Obviously, any of them who legitimately requested a ballot for themself should have the opportunity to vote. But when we see numbers like these and consider what was discovered in Texas, you can’t help but wonder whether or not there is ballot harvesting going on.

Fox News pays the price for betraying its viewership

By Andrea Widburg at American Thinker:

UPDATE: The price of playing beat the clock with posts is that I make mistakes. The Sarah Murdoch who has been steadily funding ACT BLUE and other Democrat recipients is not Lachlan Murdoch’s wife. While Sarah is rumored to lean politically left, she is not a fiery leftist. I apologize to you, the readers, and to Sarah Murdoch for the mistake, which was entirely mine.

Under Roger Ailes, Fox News was reliably conservative.  When he left, and when Rupert Murdoch handed the reins over to his sons James and Lachlan, things started getting shaky.  James, the fiery leftist, left Fox only this July.  Now Lachlan, who is married to a fiery leftist, is at the helm, helped by Paul Ryan, the RINO rodent, among others on the Board.  With this leadership, while voters have rightly suspected creeping NeverTrumperism in the newsroom for some time now, it all came to a head with this election.

Things went pretty sour for viewers when Chris Wallace turned the first presidential debate into a three-way affair, with Wallace siding with Biden.  Nevertheless, viewers were willing to give Fox another chance on election night.  Fox failed that test.

The kill switch for many viewers was that Fox News hired a hard leftist to run its election desk on Election Night.  Predictably, Arnon Mishkin called the race in ways only a leftist could love.  With hundreds of thousands of votes outstanding, he called Arizona for Biden.  Meanwhile, he refused to call obviously pro-Trump states such as Texas and Alaska.

Things have gotten worse since then.

On Monday, Neil Cavuto deliberately cut off Kayleigh McEnany as she summarized information from the thousands of affidavits that the Trump campaign has collected from across America show egregious election misconduct in swing states.  Offended by information challenging the “Biden is victor” narrative, Cavuto announced to viewers, “Whoa, whoa, whoa.  I just think we have to be very clear.  She’s charging the other side as welcoming fraud and illegal voting.  Unless she has more details to back that up, I can’t in good countenance continue to show you this.”  And then he severed Kayleigh’s feed.https://platform.twitter.com/embed/index.html?dnt=false&embedId=twitter-widget-2&frame=false&hideCard=false&hideThread=false&id=1325931988503703552&lang=en&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.americanthinker.com%2Fblog%2F2020%2F11%2Ffox_news_pays_the_price_for_betraying_its_viewership.html&siteScreenName=AmericanThinker&theme=light&widgetsVersion=ed20a2b%3A1601588405575&width=550px

Cavuto seems to have been watching too much CNN and MSNBC.  That’s where you learn that anything a leftist said is true until proven…never mind, it’s always true.  Meanwhile, anything a conservative says must be censored.  Bad move, Neil.

But wait, there’s more!  (I love saying that.)  Also on Monday, Fox News’s Sandra Smith, unaware that she was being filmed and recorded, really let loose when a guest said that the media’s calls for a given candidate do not make that person president.

Her small eyes glowing a demonic red, Smith grimaced at the camera.  She then announced to someone in the studio how important she thinks she and the rest of these ill informed, uneducated, leftist hacks are.  “What?  What is happening?  Trace, we’ve called it.”https://platform.twitter.com/embed/index.html?dnt=false&embedId=twitter-widget-3&frame=false&hideCard=false&hideThread=false&id=1325860291108802561&lang=en&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.americanthinker.com%2Fblog%2F2020%2F11%2Ffox_news_pays_the_price_for_betraying_its_viewership.html&siteScreenName=AmericanThinker&theme=light&widgetsVersion=ed20a2b%3A1601588405575&width=550px

Don’t you understand, People?  The Constitution is nothing.  Nothing!  What’s important is that a bleached blonde has spoken.

Fox viewers were not happy.  When Bret Baier tweeted out an innocuous invitation that people should join him and Martha MacCallum on Saturday night for the news, almost 30,000 people exploded in rage, compared to the one thousand or so who “liked” that tweet.  Baier eventually deleted the tweet.

The real viewer revenge, though, isn’t on Twitter.  It’s in the ratings, which have collapsed:

The numbers show that on November 6th, Fox pulled 2,266,000 viewers while CNN saw nearly twice as many at 4,009,000 viewers. Similarly, MSNBC, per Fox’s internal numbers, counted 2,983,000 viewers, beating Fox by over 700,000 viewers.

If Fox News people knew their Shakespeare, they’d know one of his wisest lines from Othello: “Reputation, reputation, reputation!  Oh, I have lost my reputation!  I have lost the immortal part of myself, and what remains is bestial.”  Precisely.

Fox is still going to stumble along thanks to viewer loyalty to stalwart personalities such as Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Greg Gutfeld, and Maria Bartiromo.  As long as its news people, though, continue their NeverTrump leftward lean, the Fox News show will bleed out until it’s gone.

Hemingway said of bankruptcy, the trajectory goes “[t]wo ways. … Gradually and then suddenly.”  We can probably expect the same at Fox as viewers, finding Fox’s current conduct unforgivable, reorient themselves to Newsmax and OAN, two rising conservative outlets.
