Ivana and Donald Trump were married 1977-1992 and had three children together

July 14, 2022 from the National Review:

Donald Trump’s ex-wife, Ivana Trump, passed away at 73 years old, the former president announced Thursday.

“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!” Trump said via a post on Truth Social.

Ivana and Donald Trump were married 1977-1992 and had three children together — Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump. During their marriage, she held top roles in the Trump Organization, and developed clothing and beauty product lines after the divorce.

Ivana was born in what is now the Czech Republic in 1949.

Kari Lake

Kari Lake Manhandles a Swarm of Democrat and RINO Media Shills — Imagine What She’ll Do as Arizona Governor

By J.D. Rucker • Jul. 14, 2022 sent by Mark Waldeland:

For complete transparency, I’ve endorsed Kari Lake for Governor of Arizona. After spending nearly two hours with her on a pair of interviews, I can say beyond a doubt that she’s the prototype for America First Republican candidates across the country.

Like President Trump (and unlike her main RINO competitor), she is a political outsider who is entering the world of government to fix a broken system. Like Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar, she is an America First patriot who isn’t scared to say what milquetoast Republicans avoid. And like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, she plans to give the Governor’s office back to the people instead of special interest groups and billionaires.

She’s the complete package for Arizona and America, which is why Democrats, RINOs, and corporate media hate her. No candidate in the nation has received more attacks from the media or been hit by more negative campaign ads this election season than Kari Lake. And while the latter is challenging to overcome without a massive infusion of small-donor support, she’s able to handle the former challenge of an adversarial media without assistance.

Watch all the way to the end and see how her demeanor shifts. When talking to the media, she is precise and bold. When she starts talking to her amazing supporters at the massive Tucson rally, she lets her guard down and feels at ease with the people she strives to serve.

“The Trump White House didn’t encourage Republicans to harass Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi or Ruth Bader Ginsberg in public places!”

JULY 14, 2022 BY JOHN HINDERAKER at Power Line:

Liberals have been illegally demonstrating in front of Supreme Court justices’ homes and harassing them in public places, like restaurants. This isn’t a new thing–liberals carried out similar campaigns of harassment against officials in the Trump administration. Nor are these outrages being perpetrated solely by fringe characters on the Left. On the contrary, they are encouraged by liberals from the White House on down. A Harvard Law instructor is among the most recent to say that conservative justices “should never know peace again.”

There is no parallel phenomenon on the right. The Trump White House didn’t encourage Republicans to harass Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi or Ruth Bader Ginsberg in public places. No one has demonstrated at Stephen Breyer’s house, calling him a baby-killer. (Nor has an armed would-be assassin been arrested outside his home.) The reason for this is simple: conservatives are not horrible people.

Most rules, though, have exceptions, and yesterday a guy I’d never heard of, apparently a conservative of sorts, posted a video of himself accosting Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the Capitol steps and making vulgar comments about her physique. She said afterward that she had wanted to “deck” him, and I wish she had. It would have served him right, and provided entertainment value, too.

Some would say that Ocasio-Cortez deserves this treatment, because she has enthusiastically promoted the public harassment of conservatives. It’s true: she does deserve it. Nevertheless, we conservatives should not be dragged down to the Democrats’ level. This kind of behavior does no one any good. Lately there has been a lot of talk about the possibility of civil war or, short of that, peaceful disunion. If the day ever comes when disunion becomes necessary, let’s not have any ambiguity about whose misconduct brought about that sad state of affairs.

Today’s AOC Fem Feelings In Action!

AOC claims she was going to “deck” heckler on Capitol steps during “deeply disgusting incident”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez posted on social media about an incident on the Capitol steps that she describes as sexual and racial harassment. It happened Wednesday and the culprit was a right-wing social media activist known for being an agitator. What makes the story a bit more interesting is that AOC claims she was going to “deck” the guy but then decided to just stop and take a selfie with him.

It’s a perfect AOC story. She’s all about saying public figures just have to suck it up and accept that harassment is a part of their lives but when it happens to her, all bets are off. Discontented protesters are within their rights to yell their grievances in public spaces, it happens all the time. Activist Alex Stein stood on the Capitol steps and yelled at AOC as she walked up the steps. He was a safe distance away from her. She was walking with two other people. When AOC went to respond to Stein, one of those people intervened to keep AOC back from Stein. Sandy from the Bronx said she was going to deck the guy because a nearby Capitol Police officer didn’t do anything to protect her. She was going to protect herself.

There’s no way that’s true, of course. Can you imagine the headlines if AOC hauled off and punched a right-wing agitator? Stein would have hit a career-high point. Alas, it was not meant to be. The cop just let it all play out and no one was injured.

Stein’s verbal harassment of AOC was both sexual and racial in nature. It was disgusting. Fortunately, he wasn’t as close to her as he sometimes is to those he is harassing. I’ve written about him before this incident. Last month he attended the Republican Party of Louisiana’s state convention and scored some publicity for harassing Ted Cruz and Dan Crenshaw. He also attends city council meetings to perform his routine during public comments. He has a YouTube channel and this is what he does.

Yelling at her about her booty and her tight dress was certainly obnoxious and not civil behavior. It’s cat calls. Bringing in the fact that she’s a Latina takes the harassment up a notch into the racial territory. His point, though, seems to be that he was criticizing her support for abortions. With all the other people being harassed about the issue of abortion – like Supreme Court justices and pro-life support centers – it’s kind of ironic that AOC wants to act aggrieved about this guy yelling at her across some steps in a public space.

AOC is indignant that a Capitol Police officer was nearby and didn’t intervene. She said, “It’s just a bummer to work in an institution that openly allowed this.” Allowed what? An activist to yell on Capitol Hill? If that was worthy of intervention on its own, Capitol Hill officers would have their hands full pretty much every day lately. There didn’t appear to be any physical threat to AOC and that is probably what the police officer was seeing, too. Her impulse to go over and punch the guy seems extreme, right? Especially for an elected official. Stein made his harassment very personal in a sexual way, that’s obvious, and it is no doubt part of his way of agitating for attention.

Protestors, political activists and even aggressive “trackers” from opposing parties are fixtures of Capitol Hill, following and shouting at lawmakers. But Ocasio-Cortez drew a contrast between political and protest activity and sexualized approaches, lamenting that a nearby Capitol Police officer didn’t intervene.

“This wasn’t about a political opinion, protest or anything like that. He was engaged in very clearly sexually threatening aggressive behavior right in front on the Capitol steps in front of an officer and he wasn’t even asked to take a step back,” Ocasio-Cortez said in an Instagram video. “Like, this officer was just cool with it.”

Stein’s “hot tamale” comment sounds a lot like Jill Biden referring to Hispanics as breakfast tacos, doesn’t it?

AOC made the wise choice of restraining herself and diffusing the situation by stopping for a photo with the guy, from a safe distance. I think she got a little of her own medicine. She expects other protests and activist harassment to be normalized in politics today. The same goes for her. The cop was there and standing between Stein and where AOC was walking up the steps. He did his job.

…”the new order sounds like just the latest version of catch and release”

‘Mo AMLO: Abbott’s order to send illegal migrants to ports of entry is “immoral and inhumane”

KAREN TOWNSEND Jul 13, 2022 at HotAir:

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) was asked about Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order authorizing the return of illegal migrants to ports of entry. Per the governor’s order, illegal migrants apprehended by Border Patrol or other law enforcement along the border outside of a legal port of entry, are to be taken to a port of entry and left there. They are being dropped off on the U.S. side of the border by the Texas National Guard and the Department of Public Safety.

To many of us, the new order sounds like just the latest version of catch and release. But, the governor is making a point. If DHS and Team Biden will not secure the southern border and properly process illegal migrants, then border community officials will transport them back to a port of entry so that they can enter the country legally. AMLO, however, said that the governor’s order is “immoral and inhumane and a political stunt.”

“Indeed, he is overstepping the limits. He is not in a position, legally, to make such a decision,” Lopez Obrador said of Abbott, adding that immigration enforcement is in the purview of the U.S. federal government.

“There are elections in November, so they’re looking to sensationalize this,” Lopez Obrador said in Spanish. “They cannot count on us because, even though we are respectful of the sovereignty of the countries, we don’t support that there are anti-immigrant campaigns for electoral purposes. I consider it immoral … political.”

It is immoral and inhumane to allow the southern border to be out of control and fall under the control of drug and human trafficking cartels. It is true that Governor Abbott is running for re-election but he pursued border security for the Texas border all along his time in office. During the Trump years, Abbott found willing partners in Trump and his DHS. Border Patrol agents knew that their work was valued. Morale is non-existent during the Biden border crisis. Biden and Mayorkas have no intention of doing what must be done to secure the border and provide safety for border communities.

Abbott’s campaign responded to AMLO. The campaign says this is the equivalent of campaigning for Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke.

“It’s not surprising that the pro-open border President of Mexico is endorsing Beto O’Rourke, the pro-open border candidate for Texas Governor,” wrote Mark Miner, the communications director for the Texans for Abbott campaign. “While Beto O’Rourke and President López Obrador don’t believe there’s a problem at our southern border, deadly fentanyl continues to ravage communities throughout Texas and America. Governor Abbott will continue utilizing all available resources to secure our Southern border, including building the wall, deploying the Texas National Guard and DPS Troopers, and delivering illegal immigrants back to the border.”

It is unusual for Mexican politicians to meddle in American politics. AMLO justifies it by saying that “the immigrants who helped build “that great country” would not like this “anti-immigrant policy.”

“If there is a candidate, a party that mistreats migrants and mistreats Mexicans, we are going to ask our countrymen to help us there so that we do not vote for those parties and for those candidates,” Lopez Obrador said.

That takes some cojones, right? Just as other open border proponents do, AMLO conflates illegal migration with legal immigration. Those who are mistreating migrants are the ones who are encouraging them to make the journey to the U.S. border and then enter outside of a legal port of entry. AMLO sounds as though he is doing a campaign ad for Beto. He may be surprised to learn that Hispanics in Texas, particularly South Texas, are switching to being Republican voters. Why? It is because Hispanics who came here legally and went through the process are the first to be angered about illegal immigration. No one is entitled to jump the line and sneak into the country. Also, Republican politicians like Greg Abbott are campaigning on bread and butter issues important to all families, Hispanic or not. The election of Mayra Flores proves that Biden’s open border strategy has backfired on Democrats.

AMLO can take a seat. Texas landowners and taxpayers need relief from the flood of illegal migrants. Someone has to step up and do the job.

Among Minneapolis Suburb Population Adult Females Are Still Obsessed With Masks and being overweight!

July 13, 2022

In hospitals, they are still obsessed with masks

By Jim Kenaston at American Thinker:

My primary role of late has been to assist my elderly mother through any number of medical appointments.

In shuffling from one to the next, we sometimes have to remind each other to bring a mask.  We’re aware that the masks offer no protection against COVID, but for the sake of others, we’ve complied with the mandates that are still enforced upon entrance to medical facilities.

The pretense strikes me, however, as masks are not magically effective in the lobby of a medical facility while they are ineffective everywhere else.  I’m sympathetic toward receptionists, and others in service roles, whose livelihood depends on their willingness to maintain the pretense of science-backed policy.

But the facade came crashing down for me when I’d taken my mother to have a CT scan done.  We arrived at the facility duly masked.  For the purpose of the visit, my mother had followed the instructions to begin drinking a large amount of barium two hours before the scan.  She was to drink a final small portion once we were on site.

Upon our arrival, I found a chair for her in a corner of the spacious lobby.  There was one other person in the room, about 15 feet away.  When she lowered her mask to take another sip of the horrible drink, we were surprised by a receptionist who insisted that she keep her mask on or be moved to another room to finish the task.

I suggested that such measures were unnecessary, as nobody was anywhere near her.  This protest fell on deaf ears.  It may be that the receptionist was unhappy in having to live under such rules herself, so she was all too happy to force them upon others.

Beleaguered as we were, we complied, though not without further protest.

It doesn’t surprise me that medical facilities are cautious about returning to normal, though this particular example of policy enforcement seemed absurd to me.  A little empathy would go a long way in such situations.  Pushy enforcement of nonsensical or outdated policies only erodes confidence in our medical establishment, as the enforcement has nothing to do with the current conclusions of science.

I look forward to the day when we can drop such pretense and go about our lives as usual.  The tide can’t turn soon enough, though I’ll patiently wait to cast my vote for such changes this November.

Oberlin’s Evil, Crooked Assault Upon Gibson’s Bakery HAS YET TO PAY ITS $31,000,000 COURT FEE!

Oberlin College hasn’t paid Gibson’s Bakery the $31 million it owes (plus more than $4 million in interest)

JOHN SEXTON Jul 13, 2022 at Hot Air:

(AP Photo/Dake Kang)

Oberlin College was hit with a huge judgment in 2019 for its treatment of Gibson’s Bakery. Initially set at $44 million that amount was cut based on Ohio law to $25 million and then increased to $31 million to cover the cost of the bakery’s lawyers. Since then the school has appealed that judgment to an appeals court and lost. The school recently appealed the loss to Ohio’s Supreme Court. The school also asked that it not be required to pay the bakery until the appeals process (which could go all the way to the Supreme Court) had ended.

Oberlin College has asked the Ohio Supreme Court to issue an order halting payment of the $36 million a court has awarded Gibson’s Bakery while the college appeals rulings by two lower courts…

The judgment now stands at more than $36 million. That includes the $31.6 million the bakery was awarded as of July 17, 2019, plus interest, or about $4,300 daily over the 1,064 days since.

Pending its appeal, Oberlin College got an appeal bond through Zurich American Insurance Co., ensuring the judgment can be paid if their appeals are unsuccessful.

The terms of the appeal bond “requires the exhaustion of all appeals before it becomes collectible,” the college argued in Wednesday’s filing with the Ohio Supreme Court.

Initially, the bakery didn’t object to waiting for payment until the appeals process  was over. But a few weeks ago the bakery’s lawyers sued the company holding the appeal bond and demanded immediate payment. The bakery renewed that request last month.

Attorneys for Gibson’s Bakery and the Gibson family have once again filed documents with the Ohio Supreme Court opposing Oberlin College’s request to halt payment of the more than $36 million the college owes the family and their business after losing a lawsuit…

“The Gibsons have correctly completed every step necessary to properly execute” a jury’s award and Lorain County Common Pleas Judge John Miraldi’s 2019 judgment, the family’s attorneys wrote in a motion filed with the state’s highest court on Tuesday…

It’s too late for the college to ask the court to rescue it from paying the nearly $32 million in damages and attorney fees Miraldi awarded the Gibsons, plus another $4.5 million in interest and counting, their attorneys wrote.

“There is no reason for this court to now entertain Oberlin’s motion when its own inaction has already directed the outcome in this matter,” the Gibsons argued.

I guess the school can’t be blamed for doing everything possible to avoid paying this judgment but there doesn’t seem to be any reason to think they’ll win these endless appeals. At this point they’re just stalling for time. And as long as Gibson’s is earning $4,300 per day in interest the delay seems to benefit them more than it does Oberlin.

All of this started with a bit of shoplifting back in 2016. A black student tried to steal a bottle of wine and was chased out of the store. Two of his female friends then got into a physical fight with one of the owners. That’s what police saw when they arrived. The shoplifters eventually pleaded guilty to minor charges but a group of students launched a protest and accused the bakery of racism. The school sided with the students and members of the administration even joined the protests. In particular, Oberlin vice president and dean of students Meredith Raimondo handed out fliers during the protest that accused the school of being racist. After a lengthy court battle Gibson’s Bakery won the initial $44 million judgment which the school has been fighting ever since.

Meredith Raimondo left Oberlin last October “to begin her role as vice president for student affairs at Oglethorpe University.” She was originally scheduled to take a sabbatical and then return to Oberlin this fall but something changed and she wound up heading to Oglethorpe, a private college in Georgia which is about half the size of Oberlin.

JULY 13, 2022 BY JOHN HINDERAKER at Power Line:

Given how things are going, you may be relieved to know that, according to today’s Rasmussen Reports, most Americans still revere our Constitution:

A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports and the Heartland Institute finds that 82% of Likely U.S. voters have a favorable opinion of the Constitution, including 58% who have a Very Favorable view of the document, which was ratified in 1789. Just 14% view the Constitution unfavorably.

Voters of all stripes have a pretty favorable view of the Constitution, but “more Republicans (76%) than Democrats (42%) or independents (56%) have a Very Favorable view of the Constitution.”

That said, there is one large fly in the ointment:

57% of Democratic voters agree it “is a document rooted in racism,” and 64% think the Constitution ”is a sexist document that gives men advantages over women.” Nearly half (49%) of Democrats believe the Constitution “should be mostly or completely rewritten.”

These numbers confirm that the myths propagated by Critical Race theorists and feminists have taken deep root in the Democratic Party. Among other things, it is hard to understand how the Constitution “gives men advantages over women,” since no clause of that document makes any distinction between men and women, and qualifications for voting were left to the states.

It is clarifying to see that one-half of Democrats want the Constitution to be “mostly or completely rewritten.” This explains why they abhor Supreme Court justices who apply and enforce the terms of the document, and want justices appointed who will make up “constitutional” provisions based on their own political preferences, rather than on what the Constitution actually says. Rewriting the Constitution is the real goal of liberal jurisprudence.
