We noted the other day that mass shootings by women are exceedingly rare, and in general violent crime is overwhelmingly male, but is this changing? Here’s one trend chart, from a study done by the Population Reference Bureau way back in 2006 (which is shortly after Mean Girls came out), that shows an significant uptick from 1980—2003:

Bragg, elected in 2021, has been a disaster for Manhattan. He refuses to seek bail or sentences for violent criminals – armed robbery, drug dealing, violent attacks on innocent civilians and burglary. Nine of the prosecutors in the Manhattan office quit when he announced his pro-criminal agenda. He was installed for one reason, one reason only, to facilitate crime and to take down Donald Trump. I hope that, along with all the other Soros-installed DAs, he will go down in flames when his pro-criminal, anti-Americanism becomes clear. How did he even pass the bar? Has he even read the Constitution?
Chesa Boudin, former DA in San Francisco, has been recalled; by San Franciscans! Los Angeles DA George Gascon was effectively recalled but the left’s expertise at cheating has kept him in office. Under Gascon, homicide rates have soared as has shoplifting by mobs of looters who are never arrested.
Kim Foxx, DA in Chicago, is another of Soros’s tools, the one who dropped charges against Jussie Smollett! On her watch Chicago has endured the largest spike in murder in over thirty years. Larry Krasner in Philadelphia, Kim Gardner in St. Louis; she has been caught lying about police officers who pulled her over, has admitted to campaign finance violations and saw her city become the murder capital of the country. There are so many more. Crime in each of these cities has escalated catastrophically as if by Soros magic. Soros Dso proud.
The democrat party, no longer remotely liberal but Marxist, does not care about anything but keeping Trump out the White House so Soros’s meddling in our politics is just fine with them. Unsurprisingly, Katie Hobbs, the illegitimate governor of Arizona, is a Soros slave. He got her elected as Arizona’s Secretary of State. She apparently wants her state’s border with Mexico to remain open. She supports the sexual grooming of children in schools, CRT, etc. She’s an enemy of her state. Alvin Bragg is an enemy of his state and is so brazen he is now outed himself as an enemy of the law. He is a classic useful idiot. He probably has no idea that he has opened Pandora’s Box and that he will likely be consumed by the illegitimacy of his folly.
Like every member of Biden’s cabinet, who were chosen for their skin color or sexual orientation, none of Soros’s DAs were chosen for the intellectual competence. They were selected to do the radical left’s bidding, Soros’s bidding – promote crime, create chaos – destructive riots, violence, etc. That is what Bragg’s indictment of Trump is meant to do as well.
The left is hoping for violence they can pin on Trump supporters but if violence occurs, it will be, like J6, calculated by the left, incited by Antifa and/or FBI/CIA embeds, or paid for by Soros via many of his front organizations. Those institutions have many years of experience at exactly that sort of exercise. They learned their craft from the FBI, the CIA and the DOJ. Now some Americans know how corrupt each of those agencies is and under Biden are likely remain corrupt.
Bragg’s indictment of Trump should be the most serious wake-up call for all Americans. While it began under Obama, America is being transformed into a police state, one where people are being imprisoned for their dissent from the regime’s narrative. We no longer enjoy freedom of speech or religion. Ask any mildly conservative college student. They cannot speak freely without being cancelled, punished or expelled.
Our elections are not at all secure or fair. The Biden administration is bogus, achieved by massive fraud. And now they have indicted the former and potentially future President in yet another ruse to take him down and out. Chances are he will not go quietly into that good night. He should have all of us at his back fighting the good fight.
There was a time when we elected people of integrity and expertise in their chosen field. This is no longer the case. Wokery – CRT, DEI, ESG, LGB, transgenderism, etc. – these nonsensical ideologies are killing us, destroying academia, indoctrinating our young people. What happens when those tasked with enforcing the law are the biggest thugs of all?
This is not a rhetorical question. It is now obvious that the federal government has become hopelessly corrupt. A deliberate campaign to weaponize government agencies against political foes began during the Obama administration and accelerated when President Joe Biden took office.
The targeting of conservative groups by the IRS between 2010 and 2012 gave us the first clue that something was afoot.
Next came the spectacular leak of highly classified National Security Agency material by former CIA agent and computer security consultant Edward Snowden in 2013. The documents, revealed by independent journalist Glenn Greenwald, showed how significantly the Bush administration’s warrantless surveillance program, initiated following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, had been ratcheted up by the Obama administration.
Greenwald delivered a memorable and hard-hitting speech at the University of Utah in April 2015 titled “Edward Snowden and the Secrets of the National Security State.” His remarks focused on the National Security Agency’s collection of ordinary law-abiding U.S. citizens’ communications. He emphasized that, even then, nearly eight years ago, people had ceded too much of their independence to unaccountable bureaucrats without even realizing it. If that trend continued, he argued, America would soon be closer to a totalitarian state than a democracy.
He was right.
While politics has always been a scrappy arena, former President Donald Trump has radicalized Democrats and brought them to a level of derangement that few could have imagined. The full-court press to ruin Trump began the moment he descended the golden escalator to announce his candidacy in June 2015 and continues to this day.
It started with the Russiagate hoax, which was manufactured by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and carried out by the top ranks of the FBI and DOJ. The FBI falsified information on a FISA court warrant application in order to spy on Trump’s campaign, pushed the debunked Steele dossier as fact knowing full well that its sourcing was bogus, and openly boasted about trying to stop Trump from becoming president.
The same folks who brought us the Trump-Russia collusion hoax and two needless impeachments refused to prosecute Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information, allegedly covered up crimes committed by Hunter Biden, declined to prosecute illegal protests outside the homes of Supreme Court justices, and turned a blind eye to violent attacks against pro-life organizations and pregnancy centers.
Consider the targeting and detention of those who trespassed in the Capitol building during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, or the dramatic arrest by an FBI SWAT team of a Catholic priest in front of his frightened wife and seven young children for pushing back against a thug who had harassed his 12-year-old son during a peaceful protest outside a Pennsylvania abortion clinic in 2021. We can add Attorney General Merrick Garland’s memo smearing concerned parents who spoke out at local school board meetings as domestic threats and the FBI’s unprecedented raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence three months ahead of the midterm elections to the list.
The “Twitter Files” have revealed a level of corruption most people never dreamed they’d see, culminating in an intentional effort by Democrats, the FBI, Big Tech, and the media to influence the results of a U.S. presidential election.
This brings us to perhaps the most transparently political act of all: New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s indictment of Trump for a hush money payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016. The alleged affair, which Trump denies, is said to have occurred in 2007.
Both federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York and the Federal Election Commission passed on bringing charges in this case due to its weakness.
Bragg’s decision to indict the former and possibly future president is a gross abuse of power. It smacks of political maneuvering. The use of the legal system to persecute political foes is evidence of the asymmetrical application of the law.
Equal application of the law is the single most essential feature of a democratic republic. Without it, a nation cannot call itself a democracy.
We’re witnessing the death of the rule of law in America. Suddenly, Greenwald’s words from eight years ago sound more prescient than hyperbolic. We are closer to a totalitarian state than a democratic republic.
Mark Levin weighed in on the news of Trump’s indictment on Fox News’ “Hannity” last night. He said: “This is a full-on assault on the Republican party, against Trump, it will be against other Republicans if they get away with this. The precedent has now been set. They have crossed the Rubicon into tyranny!
“America, you are looking tyranny in the face right now.”
We were on our way out the door when the announcement that Trump had been indicted in New York state court dropped last night, yet the indictment remains sealed. Prosecutor Alvin Bragg seems to have achieved surprise with the timing of the indictment, or at least the announcement. Yet the indictment remains sealed. We have a good idea what it’s all about, but all the commentators can say at the moment is that it’s historic.
Maybe Bragg is holding off the unsealing until April Fools’ Day. That would elicit the perfect response. Are you kidding?
The New York charges, whatever they are, are an absurd footnote to the cloud the left created around Trump’s presidency every day he was in office. He was the first president to be alleged to be a Russian stooge by the deep thinkers of the American establishment. He was the first president to be briefed under false pretenses by the Director of the FBI. He was the first president to be impeached twice. He was the first president to be acquitted twice. The terrible firsts accumulate.
And the Trump follies continue in other investigations. The farcical nature of the New York proceedings may color any indictment that is handed up in those investigations, or perhaps the left will achieve the desired effect of piling on.
They find Trump an irresistible obsession. They will not let him go. They perceive him to be a serious political threat and, as we have seen, anything goes in his case. I’m pretty sure it’s not their concern about equal treatment under law that moves them. As the explorer Richard Burton said of himself: “the Devil drives.” Unfortunately, they lack Burton’s self-awareness.
The consequences of this particular first are unpredictable. While the troops may naturally rally behind Trump in opposition to a transparently political prosecution, I wonder how Trump might find this effect of use. With the opening of the baseball season I saw a possible crossover effect in my sleep overnight. I wondered if he might hold a bat day at his next rally and hand out mini baseball bats with his name inscribed on the barrel as mementos for the first 10,000 fans to enter the stadium. I would want one of those myself. That much I can tell you.

A new study from the Media Research Center found Twitter is more oppressive since Elon Musk acquired the platform.

Following the Twitter censorship of Federalist CEO Sean Davis, several journalists, and a sitting member of Congress who all reported on the “Trans Day Of Vengeance” after the Nashville Shooting, the Media Research Center (MRC) published a shocking study about “free speech” on Twitter. Despite many claims to the contrary, the MRC found the company has become more oppressive since Elon Musk acquired the platform.
According to data from the MRC’s Free Speech America’s CensorTrack.org database, there have been 293 cases of documented censorship since Musk took over from Nov. 4, 2022, through Mar. 4, 2023. This is 67 more cases than the 226 instances reported by CensorTrack.org from pre-Musk Twitter during the same time last year.
The Media Research Center also found Twitter’s methods of censorship recently became more severe. “In 245 of the 293 (84%) documented cases of censorship on CensorTrack.org, Twitter locked users’ accounts, and in nearly all cases users were required to delete the content to regain access to their accounts,” reports the MRC. “Under the old Twitter regime, by contrast, only 136 of the 226 (60%) documented cases of censorship consisted of locked accounts.”
An astounding 62 percent of the censorship cases under Musk’s leadership involved tweets critical of transgenderism. “At least 182 of the 293 (62%) documented cases of censorship recorded in the CensorTrack.org database for Twitter under Musk involved users being censored for speech critical of the left’s woke ‘transgender’ narrative,” writes the MRC.
On Tuesday, Federalist CEO Sean Davis, other journalists, and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene were locked out of Twitter for reporting on the “Trans Day Of Vengeance” following the deaths of three children and three staff members at a Christian school in Tennessee at the hands of a transgender shooter.
Twitter claimed Davis’ objectively true tweet reporting on the panned “Trans Day Of Vengeance” violated the app’s rules “against violent speech.” Not only did Twitter lock Davis out of his account, but it also defamed him by falsely claiming he had “threatened, incited, glorified, or expressed a desire for violence.” “Twitter has a right to ban me for whatever reason it wants, but it doesn’t have a right to viciously lie about me,” Davis wrote, addressing the ban.
Davis has also been subjected to Twitter’s insidious shadow banning that carried over from the platform’s previous regime. And Federalist Senior Editor John Davidson has been locked out of his account for a full year because he tweeted the biological fact that Rachel Levine, the Biden administration’s transgender assistant secretary for health, is a man. Both Davis and Davidson have made appeals since Musk purchased the company over, but both remain censored on Twitter.
A year ago, Musk claimed he saw Twitter as the “de facto town square” and that “failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy.” Unfortunately, as the anecdotal evidence and data from MRC show, Musk’s “free speech absolutist” Twitter rebrand has failed to live up to the hype.
“No amount of lofty rhetoric or grandiose plans from Musk about his love of free speech and facts can compete with the cold, hard reality that the service he owns doesn’t just oppose free speech; Twitter detests it,” wrote Davis.

Somebody at China’s foreign ministry must be getting promotions.
It’s been one diplomatic victory after another for the Chinese, While most of the attention is focused on China’s growing military might and technological success, the diplomatic front is racking up successes, too.
The article references Malaysia’s fairly new prime minister, Anwar Ibrahim, reputedly a Western-friendly leader, calling for China to step up its One Belt, One Road development initiative, which is focused on high-value infrastructure investment in developing countries, in exhange for perfect payments on the loans. Miss those and the Chinese become the world’s biggest repo men for these nations’ ports, roads, railroads, dams et al., taking control of “their” property as many third world countries have learned to their dismay. While the times are good, the Chinese investments are great, but don’t look to them for mercy if one’s country gets into monetary or fiscal trouble in a bad economy. At that point, they effectively take a nation’s sovereignty as “compensation.” I wrote about this here, here, here, here, and here.
The bad press for this Chinese behavior ought to have sounded the death knell for the Belt and Road initiative, but that hasn’t happened. Anwar is following the yellow brick road down in and calling for its expansion, almost as if he wanted China to take over more countries. That’s disturbing indeed, given that it suggests a China alignment, not a U.S. alignment for Malaysia, a longtime reliable quiet ally.
It follows, as Goldman notes, the rather startling shift of Honduras from a democracy with close ties to Taiwan, to China. That’s most likely based on the fairly new socialist government’s search for a sugar daddy (like most of them in that region), drawing itself to Chinese One Belt, One Road investment, plus sticking it to gringo, the country that takes in their country’s neediest as illegal migrants, paying for their health care, education, and other expenses, plus getting a lot of criminals off their hands. There also are the billions in migrant remittances. They’re hopping onboard the China train and reorienting to China, despite having a coveted free trade pact with the U.S. Who needs to align with the U.S. when the U.S. is giving it away for free?
As for Brazil, they’re playing a different long game with China — focusing on their alliance with the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) and launching a new alternative currency system to replace the U.S. dollar as the benchmark unit of international trade. Bye, bye, Benjamins, it’s all about trading in yuan now.
There’s more, though, for China to notch on its lipstick case — Iraq has created new ties with China over energy sales, and will in some transactions accept payment in Chinese yuan, not U.S. dollars.
In Afghanistan, Chinese ties in the wake of the disastrous U.S. pullout, couldn’t be warmer.
There’s also the Iran-Saudi Arabian peace deal, brokered by China, which makes China officially a peacemaker in the diplomatic community, the go-to nation for ending conflicts and giving each nation a piece of the spoils. That’s a tremendous loss of influence for the U.S.
And worse still, there’s the persistent coziness of China and Russia, which helps the former extend its war in Ukraine as Ukraine burns its army out and drains resources from the West. By coincidence, Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has said that he will be willing to look into a China-brokered peace deal, even against U.S. recommendation. Why would Zelensky be willing to annoy the U.S. with this move? Seems he recognizes a paper tiger.
And it doesn’t stop. All of these victories on the diplomatic front are happening swiftly, like a blitzkreig, except through diplomacy, not war. Where’s Joe Biden on that one?
That curiously coincides with China’s increasing military strength and technological successes on the space and military hardware front, while the U.S. is indisputably in military decline — in recruitment, in materiel, in supply, and in technology. Right now, China’s technology bests that of the U.S. on some fronts, and analysts say that China could actually beat the U.S. in a head-on military conflict.
Suddenly nations from all corners of the earth are moving towards China, despite its human rights record, and its record on bad debtors. Everyone likes a winner. One would think that the U.S. would notice this string of diplomatic succeesses, but this is the Biden administration. The Chinese reportedly meddled in U.S. elections to get Biden seated at the presidential chair. Might that mean that Biden was their biggest victory of them all?
Several years ago, I watched a documentary that forecast the disastrous decline of education due to the progressive control by censorship of academia. Indoctrinate U (2007) by Evan Coyne Maloney was an eye opener to any parent of students entering the college years.
My daughter had already been exposed to the political correctness mandated by professors at the College of Staten Island (SUNY) when her professor dressed in mourning the day after George Bush’s reelection in 2004. She realized quickly to stifle any conservative opinion that might impact her grading. Thanks to her experience, my other daughter chose to attend St. John’s University years later and graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Computer Science without dealing with any anti-conservative bias. Freedom to choose what institution to attend is paramount to obtaining a well-balanced education throughout all the grades.
About the only possible good benefit of the Covid pandemic was the gradual wakeup call to parents that most of the academic institutions, teachers’ unions and school boards did not have the best interests of their children at heart and were more concerned with political influence at the cost of their responsibility to provide basic educational tenets.
The most desired degrees were once sought from Ivy League universities but it’s hard to recognize them given the ridiculous courses some of them now offer. Most of them seem to be trendy rather than educational. “How to win a beauty contest; Politicizing Beyoncé; the Sociology of Miley Cyrus and others too ridiculous to mention. “Power and Responsibility: Doing Philosophy with Superheroes,” was an online course offered by Harvard. Harvard, imagine that.
In this 21st century does one even need a college degree unless one is planning a career as a doctor or lawyer? Will majoring in women’s and gender studies get one a high paying job? A Fine Arts degree may help if you have a chance at becoming a curator at a top museum but won’t impress the owner of a fast food joint.
When politicians and educators decided that a lockdown of schools was necessary to contain the pandemic, our children paid the price with lowered reading and math skills that will cost them dearly in the future. Eleven of my grandchildren attended parochial schools that had teachers who were not members of the suffocating unions in public schools. Consequently, they maintained the high education levels from before the politically exploited pandemic. The other two grandchildren were students at a supposedly good public school yet I had to teach the kindergartener how to read.
There may be some good news on the horizon now that the ‘woke’ agenda of expensive universities has caused a steep decline in enrollments. College enrolments are down significantly except at those with conservative reputations. A liberal professor, Peter Boghossian, former philosophy professor at Portland State University, actually said that he told his daughter “not to go to university – become an electrician” because colleges have become “indoctrination mills.” He has also stated that all universities have been destroyed by ‘woke nonsense’ and should be defunded.
I no longer have children of college age but several of my grandchildren are,` and college choices are quite interesting now. Three of my grandsons will be attending a small but fascinating college in San Diego, California in September. John Paul the Great is a Catholic university for the creative arts and business. It offers courses that are of great interest to Gen Z and millennials that will garner them lucrative careers while maintaining spiritual integrity. In other words, it is not ‘woke’ or politically correct. I looked over its website, www.jpcatholic.edu and wished there had been such fascinating choices when I was college age.
Exactly what are youths interested in today? It’s not gender, women or minority studies. They’re into social media, gaming, films, music and unfortunately these interests right now are dominated by the left influencers. John Paul the Great University is challenging that system by impacting the current culture with high moral standards. It offers courses in feature films, animation, gaming development, drama, screenwriting and many other creative art options. In addition, it has generous scholarship programs and financial aid for struggling families.
My daughter said she received $200 towards airline fare for each of her sons to travel to San Diego to preview the university which they will now attend this fall. She also said they were put up in a hostel and had a paid Uber to greet them at airport. What she appreciated the most is that the university offered to create a financial plan which no other school did.
I suspect that many parents today are debating whether their offspring should take gap years until academia restores its sanity or simply join the working class and forget about furthering their education. They should realize that there are choices out there that are innovative and deserve to be explored. As far as I know, John Paul the Great University is open to all but I contacted Mr. Martin Harold , the V.P. of enrollment( MHarold@jpcatholic.edu) to confirm. He responded:
“We are open to all faiths and have some non-Catholic Christians in our student body. Students who come here, however, take a nine-class sequence in theology and philosophy in our Catholic liberal arts core, so most of them have an interest in Catholic theology even if they are not Catholic themselves.”
When I interviewed V.P. Dick Cheney with my NY Sun colleagues years ago, I asked his view on school choice and he said that he and other Republicans had been battling for school choice for years. Parents are struggling to pay tuition for private schools because many public schools seem to be more interested in grooming than educating their children. Tax credits for private schooling should be on the legislative menu for this Congress.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz seeks to portray himself as a champion of freedom. Those of us who were subjected to his one-man rule during the Covid emergency have found him to be a petty tyrant. The Star Tribune is Walz’s handmaiden and most valuable player in Walz’s puffery, as in Brianna Bierschbach’s “Gov. Tim Walz draws contrast between Minnesota and conservative GOP-led states.” Bierschbach opened with Walz’s theatrics:
Gov. Tim Walz picked up copies of literary classics including “Lord of the Flies” and “Of Mice and Men” off a table of books Wednesday before reaching for Margaret Atwood’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” a dystopian novel about a patriarchal group that overthrows the federal government.
“We are keeping this fully in the fiction section of Minnesota,” Walz said, holding up his selections before tucking them inside a Little Free Library, a book exchange box he parked in the lobby outside his office.
“Let’s be very clear,” Minnesota’s Democratic governor said. “These books are banned in the state of Florida. That’s where freedom goes to die.”
Florida’s alleged book-banning is a lie, of course, as is well known to anyone who ventures beyond the Star Tribune for the news.
Here’s the funny thing. The archives of the Star Tribune itself document book banning in Minnesota high schools. In Duluth, they have banned Huckleberry Finn and To Kill a Mockingbird. The Star Tribune ran two stories on this development, one here (February 8, 2018) and one here (February 12, 2018).

The Star Tribune reported it in this story (December 27, 2020), in year two of the Walz Era.

Ihad high hopes for Twitter under Elon Musk’s watch. After all, how could the tech giant get any worse after banning the New York Post, which was founded by Alexander Hamilton himself, for the crime of reporting on possible corruption of the family of a leading presidential candidate in the middle of a close election?
We now have an answer: by banning conservative Christians for reporting on the horrific mass shooting perpetrated by an apparent “trans” person who hated conservative Christians so much she stormed a Christian school in Nashville, opened fire, and murdered three 9-year-old children and three adult staff.
What happened in Nashville was not just another story on the news. We’ve worshipped at Covenant Presbyterian. Dear friends of ours work there, and children we’ve known and loved for years attend school there. We wept throughout the day on Monday, desperately praying and waiting for news of our friends. And when the dust cleared, and facts began to emerge about the demonic evil that was visited upon that school on Monday, we reported the facts about what happened.
One of those facts was that the shooting came just days ahead of a planned “Trans Day of Vengeance,” an event planned by an outfit called the Trans Radical Activist Network.
“I am glad I was in the Stonewall Riot,” the group’s web page announcing the event states. “I remember when someone threw a Molotov cocktail, I thought, ‘My god, the revolution is here.’”
Pictures of radical trans activists sporting T-shirts that state “Trans rights… or else” and feature outlines of guns proliferated on social media throughout the week, making clear exactly what these activists desired to happen.
Well, it happened on Monday at a quiet Christian school atop a hill in the middle of Nashville. And by Wednesday afternoon I was banned by Twitter from accessing my account for reporting on the shooting, for reporting on the Trans Day of Vengeance which may well have inspired the cold-blooded murderer, and for sharing a link to a news story from The Daily Wire, another conservative news outlet based in Nashville.
Twitter claimed my reporting violated Twitter’s terms of service and that I had personally threatened, incited, glorified, or expressed a desire for violence. Such a claim isn’t just false; it’s defamatory. Twitter published a notice on my feed (which I can no longer even access) stating I violated its rules. Again, such a claim is false and defamatory. Twitter has a right to ban me for whatever reason it wants, but it doesn’t have a right to viciously lie about me. See the tweet and Twitter’s e-mails to me for yourself:
Ella Irwin, the head of Twitter’s Orwellian “trust and safety group,” claimed on Twitter on Wednesday that the tech company wasn’t banning accounts for reporting on the Trans Day of Vengeance. Instead, she claimed, the company was merely trying to remove scheduling and logistics information for the event, lest people gather and commit violence. She claimed no accounts were being banned or punished for reporting on the event. That is also false. (I would include links to Irwin’s tweets so you can read them in full context, but unfortunately, I’m banned from accessing the service, so you’ll have to take my word for it or search for them yourself).
Irwin and others cling to the facade of safety: We’re only doing this so as not to inflame people, lest they join the Trans Day of Vengeance event. Let’s be clear about this rationale: It is a lie meant to suffocate both the facts and those precious few of us who dare to report them. It is no different than banning reporting of the Holocaust for fear it might incite someone to launch a new one, or banning police and accusing them of murder because they posted a wanted poster with the picture of a murderer on the loose.
What the people behind this censorship are truly worried about is the prospect of the American people understanding the true evil underlying transgender ideology and the danger it poses to the country and its survival. They don’t want you to understand how every major institution of power in this country bends its knee to the radical trans movement, tells its adherents they are victims, and tells them that anyone who utters the verboten truth that boys cannot become girls and girls cannot become boys wishes to commit genocide against the so-called trans community.
What do you think is the logical conclusion of telling delusional, mentally ill people being surgically mutilated and pumped full of hormones that Christians and conservatives want to commit “genocide” against them? That’s the question you’re not allowed to ask because they know how you’ll answer it because you watched with your own eyes what happened in Nashville on Monday.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican member of Congress, was banned from accessing her account for highlighting the radical trans activists’ “Day of Vengeance.” Luke Rosiak, an investigative reporter for The Daily Wire whose article I linked in my tweet, was banned from accessing his account. Tom Elliott, who runs the invaluable media clip service Grabien, was banned from accessing his account. I am banned from accessing my account unless I delete a tweet that Twitter itself has already removed from my feed. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it’s probably a duck, and if it walks like targeted ideological censorship of conservatives for the crime of reporting facts and acknowledging biological reality, then it’s probably targeted ideological censorship of conservative reporters, publishers, and even elected representatives.
As someone who regularly uses Twitter to both publish and consume the news, I was hopeful Musk would be able to clean out the rot inside Twitter once he took over. I hoped he would make good on his promise to restore Twitter as a free-speech platform. I even ponied up the $8-per-month fee for his Twitter Blue service because I wanted to support his efforts. A lot of good that did.
It’s now abundantly clear that despite spending a whopping $44 billion to acquire the company, Musk isn’t in charge of it. I don’t know who actually is, but nobody who believes in free speech would spend the days after a mass shooting banning Christians, conservatives, and prominent reporters and news publications for having the audacity to report on what happened and what might have caused it. After all, you can judge a tree by its fruit.
Nearly a year ago to the day, another reporter for The Federalist was also banned from accessing his account unless he deleted a tweet deemed offensive by Twitter’s Bolshevik censors. John Davidson was banned for tweeting that Rachel Levine (formerly Richard Levine), a high-ranking Biden administration official who claims to be transgender, is indeed a man, and that no amount of lipstick and dress-up can change biological reality. He linked to a story on the topic from The Babylon Bee, a popular Christian conservative satire site. His account was locked, and he’s been banned from accessing it ever since. Are you noticing a trend? Our pleas for his account to be unlocked fell on deaf ears.
When a rage-filled and mentally ill “trans” person shoots up a school, the media blame Republicans, or the NRA, or gun makers, or anyone other than the shooter and her warped ideology. They turn the victims into villains, and they turn the murderer into a martyr.
Twitter responded no differently. It didn’t ban us and lock us out of our accounts for lying, but for telling the truth. Why? Because the facts of Monday’s mass murder are fatal to the left-wing narrative, and the only thing the left wing and its myriad institutions in government, business, and media care about is the narrative. The narrative must be protected at all costs, even if it means lying about the facts and those of us who report them.
No amount of lofty rhetoric or grandiose plans from Musk about his love of free speech and facts can compete with the cold, hard reality that the service he owns doesn’t just oppose free speech; Twitter detests it. The totalitarian drones who spend their days scouring the Internet for anyone who dares say the emperor has no clothes, boys can’t become girls, and radical trans activists are murdering people who oppose their evil ideology prove that the Twitter of 2023 under Musk is the same anti-free speech cesspool it was in 2020, when it banned, under false pretenses, the longest-running paper in circulation in America from reporting on corruption allegations surrounding Joe Biden and his son.
As my friend and colleague John Davidson (also banned by Twitter from accessing his account) noted in a discussion this morning, “Censorship of reportage or discussion of violent extremist groups, whether trans or jihadi, under the pretext that one is ‘promoting’ violent extremism, is some next-level Orwellian bullsh-t, and only serves to reiterate a point I made in my recent Imprimis article about the Twitter Files: ALL social media content moderation is censorship and propaganda. All of it.”
Twitter is toast, and the sad truth of the matter is that Musk either can’t, or won’t, fix it. Musk may never get his $44 billion back, but until Twitter repents and stops producing rotten fruit, conservatives should keep their $8 in their pockets. At some point, instead of hoping the poison vine will produce fine wine, you just have to acknowledge reality and let it die.
