YOUR WORLD WITH FASCISTIC PHIL CAVUTO

Arrogant, big mouth, cocky, Foxy, antiPresident Trump, Phil Cavuto,  seems to be one of the Fox News  fascistics who froth at their joy mouth to eliminate our American 45th President from the nation’s White House as soon as possible.

Is President Trump  too American for the business folks at Fox News?   Perhaps he can’t be controlled for he LOVES HIS COUNTRY JUST AS I And  MILLIONS OF AMERICAN CHRISTIANS DO!!!   He is not bought or otherwise controlled by BUSINESS, BIG OR INTERNATIONAL.  Is that what makes so many mouths of Fox “News” reporters and reviewers like Cavuto to cheat, distort, so often complain and/or squeal against the President at news hours?  Is it instruction from station leftists or personal?

Or is the American population under age 50 so uneducated, so obtuse to American existence at home and abroad, so drugged, Godless,  and lost in life bearing  no brains clear enough to handle learning right from wrong,  those vitally  important matters of civilized human existence?

Did or did not President Donald J. Trump, while talking on the phone with the President of the Ukraine President, Volodymyr Zelensky,  utter any word or words wondering about  a serious rumor  that a flaky American Vice President’s son, a young man of many serious background issues, carped millions of dollars out of  Ukraine pockets to score a bit of  fuel business for the weak nation nearly crushed by papa Russia?

So what?    Major corruption was in the air.   How did millions of dollars wind up in the pocket of  Vice President’s troubled son?

Dem fascists wouldn’t hear of something so possibly TRUE.  These fascists and fascistics, almost fascists) are programmed to assault before, during, or/and, after such news…THEY OWN OUR PRESS!

Ancient American MILLIONAIRE, Biddy Pelosi, with countless fascist and fascistic Dem friends and allies, immediately turned to their press and television command worlds.  These fascistics  OWN parts of  the Wall Street Journal, and, outside of radio, nearly every  newspaper and television news communication apparatus in our American world.

If TRUTH had any value in today’s American lines of knowledge, business, and communication,  Democrat candidate for the Leftist American Presidency, Ditsy Vice President Joseph Biden should be confronted by law for possible corruption charges,  NOT TO LIVE IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

But TRUTH HAS NO MEANING AMONG  TODAY’S ADAM SCHIFF  ANIMALS DOMINATING OUR ONCE HONORABLE DEMOCRATIC PARTY.  THEY ARE EITHER MUTE, FOREVER LIARS, OR  FASCISTS OR FASCISTICS PLOTTING “GOOD BYE AMERICA!!!

UNTIL PRESIDENT TRUMP, WE WERE  ALREADY IN OUR CONGRESSIONAL TAR PITS…..ARE YOU TOO UNLEARNED TO KNOW IT?…..OR DO YOU LIVE IN A TODAY’S AMERICAN DEM  BODY WHERE TRUTH,  AND GOODNESS  NO LONGER EXIST?”

These Pelosi fascists of our day who own news television and America’s newsprint from the Atlantic to the Pacific dictate the news that  President Trump has committed a serious crime, one for impeachment and removal from office.   That is the way the fascist Left in power makes truth and knowledge disappear!  Enough noise must overwhelm their own leftist corruptions so their evil can never be reported,  exposed.

I fell in love with Donald becoming our American President,  I think it was August 6, 2015 at Fox center, when the Republican National Committee was plotting to get rid of Mr. Trump as its GOP Candidate for the Presidency……Fox’s Megyn Kelly plotting to get rid of him asap as a presidential GOP candidate listed a few difficulties he had had with some women in the news….asking him if this was the way he viewed all women, never asking any difficult responses from  any of Fox-approved Republicans.

Donald answered, “No, only Rosie O’Donnell.”   My love for Trump began.  My love for functional, staid Republicans diminished.   I have loved and admired Donald ever since!

I am 85.   Somewhere in my 50s  when Donald Trump was happily married to his first wife, well before his Hollywood business jaunt and its episodes I was captured by  a two hour television program about his life.   His was a totally different world from my very modest life teaching  high school Social Studies and Russian in Minneapolis or later on, garden landscaping after being fired by telling Truths about school system to the public.

In the television review Donald Trump  spoke highly of his dad and mom and his opportunities…..had attended two private schools, the second one, according to his dad,  for more discipline in learnings!

Did you know Donald Trump was a gifted athlete in a number of sports.   If I remember the television biography  correctly, when he graduated college, he was offered a contract by the New York Yankees….what else?   HE TURNED THE OFFER DOWN TO WORK FOR HIS DAD IN THE BUILDING BUSINESS.

I was aware Mr. Trump lost his close older brother to alcoholism….according to the biography…..apparently a  main reason our President abstains.

My own dad was Republican.  He was an athlete and a pharmacist.  I married a Democrat in 1957 and remained one until Ronald Reagan.   I did like President John F. Kennedy very much, but no one else in his peculiar family.

Hillary was, is purely evil.   And so are the censoring big business and racist  fascists and fascistics who have taken over today’s once honorable American Democratic Party.

Will 45th American President,  Donald J. Trump,  overcome the Rise of our American fascists and fascistics now dominating American education, communication, and political worlds?

Obviously we cannot know the future.  But, with the rise of our new leaders,  Donald J. Trump and our Dennis Prager spreading knowledge, freedoms, and exposing Truth, WE AMERICANS FOR FREEDOM HAVE A GOOD CHANCE!  ghr

P.S.   HAVE A WONDERFUL  SUNDAY!

The World War of My Childhood Began 80 Years Ago!

Victor Davis Hanson: Lies, betrayal and incredible surprises marked start of World War II 80 years ago

https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/victor-davis-hanson-world-war-ii

Note from ghr:   I was 5  when the European part of  World War II broke out in 1939.

I became acutely aware of it by  the  Spring of 1942 when I began able to read the cutlines of the war photos of the  Sunday Pioneer Press rotogravure picture section of its Sunday newspapers, and  the newspaper’s  headlines  of the Pacific front that Spring.   “Battle at Midway”,  was my entry to become part of the war effort ,  playing serious war games with my neighborhood buddies thereafter until August, 1945 when it all finally came to an end.

I couldn’t read story books, both then and now, but, even then,  I could read a lot about real wars, draw maps,  read cutlines to pictures available anywhere between the 16th century Spanish invasion of Aztec Mexico  to  the Korean War.    I began collecting American state  road maps in 1942….and have about 200 of them still stashed away somewhere.

My dad was 41 years old in 1942…..too old to go overseas.   He became one of the local air raid wardens here in St. Paul….and with special helmet and vest practiced safety from air assaults twice a week from April  to September that year.   Our neighborhood house lights had to be out beginning from  dusk on to dark for an hour or two.

We also began our Victory Garden in two empty lots across the alley behind our garage.   My dad had agreed with the city to commit our family to be responsible for this national urban effort to support the war effort by providing food for  neighbors on our block.

The city would plow the fields for us….My dad signed a contract.   We were going to help the war effort.   I had two step cousins, sons of my German step grandmother, age 16 and 18 who had joined the navy shortly after Pearl Harbor, and were sent to the Pacific front.

As life moved on that April, after Mom, Dad, and I had done all of the plantings, from radishes to sweet corn, potatoes to peas and even egg plant and  okra, lettuce, and tomato plants to  kholrabi,  you name it,  we must have planted it.   They treated me as if I were an adult.

Honestly, I loved every minute of it.   I loved the exploring, the planting, the learning from and  with both my parents.   Dad, however, had to work six days a week,  pharmacist and manager of a downtown St. Paul Liggett Drug Company store.  Mom picked up a terrible  rash, so was confined to canning and the cooking world throughout the war.

I became king of the Victory Garden roost…..and in full truth, then and now, loved every moment of it.  I weeded, mulched, fertilized, watered, planted, harvested, often thinking I was helping  our war effort in a dreamy way.   (I’d dive bomb the Colorado potato beetles eating potato foliage with my right hand “Lockheed Lightening”  and bury these enemies  into dad’s last year’s grease collection from his car….which was by then stored away in the garage until the war was over.

That war made me become a high school teacher of Social Studies, History, and Russian…..until the schools began to collapse as teaching  knowledge  institutions in the 1970s.     I have worked in the plant world ever since….including this very day,  next week, next month, and next Spring, Godwilling,  at 85 years old!

THANK GOD FOR GLOBAL WARMING!!!

by Glenn H. Ray:

The first university learning degree I received was in 1956 with a major in Geography and minor in Russian.    I was exploring.   Grades had meaning then.   I wanted to study the world and learn a foreign language.   Russian was an easy choice for me….nothing to do with ancestry.  It had to do with my and my country’s  future.  The fascist, terrifying USSR was then the powerful enemy of our American way.

My instructors, solid professors, were all male and all phD’s….NO funky graduate students who could barely speak English, and no easy gradings for leftists as in our ‘modern’ era.    Tuition cost me only $30 per quarter.

We undergraduates were often told at the beginning of each  class instruction to look to the front, to the back and to both sides and then yourself because in two years three of you today’s  students will no longer be at the University of Minnesota’s College of Liberal Arts.   They told the Truth as it turned out.

To get this first college degree I had to study climatology,  geology,  geomorphology,  astronomy, as well as geography of the world’s continents and their countries which truly fascinated me.

No longer did I have to cheat about reading novels in those English classes.   I suffer a dyslexia, (not yet ‘invented’ then, so I had no clue)…. I couldn’t, can’t,  make anything out of  reading real novels.    I have those  remarkable visual skills I was born with, instead.

It was the content of novels.    I’d buy the classic comics such as Dicken’s Tale of Two Cities, zip through them, enjoy them enough to search out and then read accurately  in the actual novel the most exciting sections of the novel.    Anything by William Thackeray, and such, was  too dull, to distant visually from the mind or whatever,  to remember or  grasp anything.  Mentally, I couldn’t connect  every time I’d try to read a novel.

I have a personal library in my old age of a couple thousand books, mostly  texts,  histories,  biographies,  “1984”, reality stuff including nineteenth century readings like McGuffey readers.   Here, my memory was solid.   I loved sharing these  learnings, so my first career became teaching high schoolers…….

I learned something about the disappearance of the dinosaurs those 65 million years ago…..you remember, those huge creatures running around America’s Dakota’s, eating those fern trees and the tonnage of the Brontosaurs, the ones especially  tasty to Tyrannosaurus Rex…..

……and the more recent stuff including  the glacial periods of tens of thousands of years ago…..like the last one  in northern Minnesota around Duluth before Lake Superior was born with the melting of thousands of feet of glacial ice!!!

THANK GOD FOR THAT GLOBAL WARMING OR WE HUMANS WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LIVE HERE….but our today’s lefty Democrat Party doesn’t give a damn about TRUTH!.   They don’t seem to be interested in knowledge either.

Neither were the Soviets, folks.

Please continue reading below regarding Truth instead of today’s Politics regarding “Global Warming”:

No U.S. Warming Since 2005

Remembering When America Was Still Civilized

A DAY AT THE BALL PARK

by  John Hinderaker   at PowerLine:

We went to a baseball game this afternoon, nine from my family altogether. The Minnesota Twins played the Texas Rangers. It was Armed Forces Appreciation Day.

As we approached Target Field–considered by knowledgeable observers (i.e., me) the best baseball park in the major leagues–there were military vehicles, an Army information booth, military personnel explaining the equipment and excited children climbing over it. As we went through security to enter the stadium, Army paratroopers parachuted onto the field. It was an impressive sight, and between innings during the game they showed video footage shot by the paratroopers.

The National Anthem was performed nicely by a couple of guys who looked like bikers, while the flag was raised by one of the heroes who were immortalized in Jake Tapper’s great book, The Outpost.
Between innings the big screens showed Minnesota military personnel deployed overseas who greeted their families and urged on the Twins. They got a lot of applause.

During the 7th inning stretch, a vocal group performed “God Bless America,” which the crowd–including me, and I can’t sing a note–sang lustily. No hustling Kate Smith off in the middle of the night, here. That was followed by “God Bless the USA,” which many in the crowd knew the words of, also. And finally, of course, “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”

It was a good game…

…that ended unhappily for Twins fans. My dominant impression, though, was of the unabashed patriotism of the near-sellout crowd. It renewed my confidence that the Democrats’ strategy of running against the USA will not end well for them.

Truth IS, Earth’s Climate IS ALWAYS CHANGING!

CLIMATE CHANGE: WHAT CAN’T IT DO?

by John Hinderaker  at PowerLine:

I wrote a couple of weeks ago about the fact that Lake Superior and other Great Lakes were nearing record high levels this year. Which was bad, of course–flooding and so on. Was it due to climate change? Perhaps. But just a few years ago–in 2013–the Great Lakes were low. That, too, was bad, and as the headlines linked in my prior post indicate, that definitely was due to climate change.

Now the Washington Post reports: “The Great Lakes are overflowing with record amounts of water.”

The effects of this high water have been wide-reaching. Beaches have shrunk, while water has inundated docks and destroyed roads.
***
A combination of major winter snowfalls…

Due to global warming?

…and excessive rainfall are primary drivers for this year’s high water.

The Post has a relatively long memory, for a newspaper, so it recalls that just a few years ago, climate change was causing the Great Lakes to dry up. Most of us, if our theory was so decisively refuted by nature, would preserve a discreet silence. But global warming obsessives are undeterred. Low water, high water, below average precipitation, above average precipitation–these seemingly disparate phenomena, which have existed forever and which most attribute to natural cycles, have a common cause: climate change!

While experts work to better understand effects of climate change on Great Lakes water levels, they are seeing increased evidence of a new normal characterized by rapid shifts between extreme high and low levels.

“We are undoubtedly observing the effects of a warming climate in the Great Lakes,” wrote Richard Rood, a University of Michigan climate scientist. “We are at the beginning of what’s going to be a number of decades where the climate is going to be changing very fast. During that time, we will have many unexpected weather events, and we need to learn from these events to better prepare for the future.”

Unexpected weather events, like rainfall and a lack of rainfall. First the “undoubted” effect of global warming on the Great Lakes was drought, now it is too much snow and rain. Whatever. The nice thing about “climate change” as a dogma is that the weather is guaranteed to change, so whatever happens is consistent with the theory that continues to bring in the big bucks. As I’ve said before: I will be more impressed with the global warming fanatics if they predict something before it happens.

Meanwhile, is there any truth to the claim that we are experiencing unprecedented swings in Great Lakes water levels? I will reproduce again a chart from the Wall Street Journal showing water levels in Lake Michigan and Lake Huron from 1990 to the present:

Has Paul Mirengoff Ever Visited Rural Town Minnesota?

CARLSON’S COMPLAINT REVISITED

by Paul Mirengoff  at PowerLine:

Steve Hayward’s post about an upcoming event with Tucker Carlson, which Steve will moderate, refocused my attention on Carlson’s controversial monologue in early January. I wrote about it here .

I concluded my post, which praised Carlson for his “insights and plausible, thought-provoking claims” about the problems in rural America, by saying that he avoided the question of “personal responsibility.” I did not elaborate. I want to do so now.

Carlson said that “in many ways, rural America now looks a lot like Detroit.” This may be an exaggeration, but let us assume it to be true.

When conservatives discuss the plight of places like Detroit, we typically mention social pathology, as Carlson did in his monologue. Symptoms include kids leaving school early, girls having babies, fathers assuming little or no responsibility for these babies, youths choosing crime as a way of life, adults preferring welfare to work, and so forth.

Carlson blamed these problems on “big government” and conservatives agree that government policies have contributed to them. But each problem is founded on bad personal choices. Those who make these choices bear some responsibility for the adverse consequences they produce. Thus, conservatives typically insist that the concept of personal responsibility have a place in the discussion.

If we’re going to insist on personal responsibility in the context of Detroit, we should insist on it in the context of “rural America.” Arguably, we should be more insistent, since rural Americans were never subjected to systematic racial discrimination.

But the concept of personal responsibility didn’t make it into Carlson’s rant. Its absence became apparent to me when he complained that males in rural America are lagging behind their female counterparts. Carlson plausibly blamed the demoralization of the rural male population, and its inability to marry, on this phenomenon.

But why are white males lagging behind females? They attend the same schools. They come from the same families. In these families, I assume, parents expect their sons to achieve at least as much as their daughters.

Why aren’t they? Carlson notes that job opportunities in traditionally male jobs are shrinking in rural America, while jobs in traditionally female jobs are holding steady. But is that the entire story? Men are not barred from jobs in schools and hospitals. Nor are they barred from learning skills that will help them land jobs in other flourishing sectors.

Thus, to the extent that young males in rural and rust belt America aren’t doing as well as young females, I think it’s due in part to bad choices they make — e.g., using drugs, not taking school seriously, choosing leisure over work. J.D. Vance’s Hillbilly Elegy, a book that highlighted the crisis in parts of rural and rust belt America that Carlson picks up, is populated with folks who made such choices. But it also includes some, and not just Vance himself (a special case), who made better choices and thrived as a result.

Carlson blames the lack of thriving in rural America on market capitalism and greedy elites — mercenaries, he calls them. I believe that, just as with Detroit, some of the blame must reside with the people making choices that are inconsistent with success in life.

Is this point worth making or should we take the bad decisions people make as a given — something we must work around? The answer is that, philosophical concerns to one side, as a matter of policy making we can’t ignore, or work around, the concept of personal responsibility.

In the case of “Detroit,” we must decide how far to go in order to improve, in the short term, the material condition of the population. How much should we spend on welfare? How lenient should we be with criminals? Should there be monetary reparations? Should there be forced integration?

In the case of rural America, the policy questions prompted by Carlson are different. How much trade protection should certain American industries receive? To what extent should we limit legal immigration?

The answer in both cases depends in part on how much weight we place on the concept of personal responsibility. Those who take the concept seriously will be less inclined to transfer vast amounts of money, or to tolerate high risk associated with the early release of criminals, than those who don’t.

They will also be less inclined to think Americans should pay more for consumer goods as a result of trade barriers and restrictions on the number of people who can work in the U.S. They may ask how much more they should pay for cars because males in rural America are making irresponsible personal choices.

The best answer might well be “somewhat more.” Even for conservatives, the concept of personal responsibility isn’t absolute. We are willing to spend a considerable amount of money on welfare even though we know that if recipients made better choices, we would be able to spend considerably less.

Without some sense of empathy and national solidarity — some notion that we are all in this together — America is in big trouble. But we’re also in big trouble if we place the concept of personal responsibility off-limits in our policy discussions.

Dear Mr. Mirengoff ….I presume you cross the border into  Minnesota from time to time.  Or do you fly in to the Twin City airport from your flat on Manhattan or where ever?
Have you ever  been to, through  Ely,  Duluth,  Ada, Hill City,  Grand Rapids,  Willmar, Roseau,  Fulda, and nearly every other  forced learning places where Goopherland  lefty  fascism isn’t dictated  at “schools”?   Have you noticed the steady decay of small town MAIN STREET Minnesota since Billy Clinton sold NAFTA to the Western Hemisphere about 25 years ago?
How many farmsteads have the Soviets disappeared from our  Gopherland since then, Mr. Mirengoff?   How many shops?…..  locally owned restaurants, and garden centers?
Have you found a locally made cup of coffee at Minnesota small town Main Street cafe recently?  Ten years ago?   Twenty years ago?    How many locally owned clothing stores have disappeared during that span?
Capitalism has come to stink when small town folk are crushed when  BIG MONEY INVESTORS and PROFITEERING AMAZONS RULE THE WORLD AND DON’T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT UNCLE SAM’S RURAL MINNESOTAS.
CARSON IS CORRECT with his statement you’ve suggested below…  Where have you been?   Ditsy feminists and feminazis of all sexes, shapes, and sizes “own” our Minnesota schools these days.  Truth is of no matter to these modern  Dems.  FEELINGS, especially the femmy  ones are in vogue these days.
Carlson said that “in many ways, rural America now looks a lot like Detroit.” This may be an exaggeration, but let us assume it to be true.
Wake up Mr. Mirengoff at PowerLine!   The human male is bored when schools are run by morons.   Gals go whereever gals hangout.  Have you ever examined the k through 12th grade curriculum results in Minnesota schools lately ?
Mirengoff wonders:  “But why are white males lagging behind females? They attend the same schools. They come from the same families. In these families, I assume, parents expect their sons to achieve at least as much as their daughters.”
Mirengoff blames people making choices:  “Carlson blames the lack of thriving in rural America on market capitalism and greedy elites — mercenaries, he calls them. I believe that, just as with Detroit, some of the blame must reside with the people making choices that are inconsistent with success in life”.

Why I Love OUR DONALD!

Donald Trump is my favorite American leader of my life time.  I was born in 1934 and have followed very closely all American Presidential elections since 1944, Roosevelt versus Dewey.

Our country is in serious, serious trouble today, and has been since the late  1960s when a third of our juvenile college populations had  turned to LSD and such for their god of entertainment.  And then came the feminist-feminazi revolutions  at universities from coast to coast.

The human female animal is not a human male by Nature and Nature’s God…neither a century ago, ten years ago, or today.   They are not born killers as I and other human male animals  have been genetically driven to be for the past million years of our animal-human development.   She is born ditsy, instead.  Not that she is not gifted with great intelligence and abilities…..especially her God’s gift of bearing the off spring of the species.   SHE IS NOT BORN DRIVEN TO BE A PROBLEM SOLVER.  Not that she doesn’t possess abilities to solve problem……BUT SHE IS NOT A MALE HUMAN ANIMAL.

She is NOT born curious.  She is born with other important attributes of the human female being in caring for her offspring.    Yet,  most  Mothers bearing children   these days don’t Mother their children as Mothers used to Mother, as they did in my early days of life.    They go back to work in no time….except within our more JudeoChristian believing communities.

Within the first three years of human life, the typical human male child is already snooping around, searching, testing, touching, tasting, eyeing the environment around him, not by choice, but by drive…..a God-given drive, if you please!   Both my boys learned very quickly how to speed crawl and open the storage doors below our kitchen sink.    My daughter would pick and choose things to chew  and touch, but was such a relief to her parents when she limited her geography to her own room.

I have never met Donald J. Trump personally.   Being an alert American whose first career was to teach Social Studies in our American schools, I began to follow his New York life when he became a name in his New York City building company….starting somewhere around forty years ago.

I occasionally found him on television from New York quite similar to some viewings in the above collection…and he caught my attention….his arrogance,  he carriage and confidence, his certainty of thought and clarity of speech,  I believe, gathered my interest and curiosity.  I was not in a mood to like him for  I hadn’t  known people who carried on like he did on television from time to time….not here in Minnesota then when  adults were still  civil and knowledgeable,  were Christian and Churched,  were neighbors and  friendly, and were parents with children and no one swore a bad word in school, on playgrounds, or in neighborhoods….and no one had any noticeable money until 1950……and girls were girls and boys were boys!

In Horace Mann Grade School where I attended,  from 1939 to 1952 very well educated older single women ran the classes until the War ended.

Within the first three years of human life, the typical human male child is already snooping around, searching, testing, touching, tasting, eyeing the environment around him, not by choice, but by drive…..a God-given drive, if you please!

I was aware his first wife, Ivana, was a very important figure in Donald’s business….and  years later was surprised to read in the papers Donald had caused his wife to divorce him.   He had gone Hollywood TV and then I lost interest in Mr. Trump…until 2016.

Weren’t their 17 candidates in the early running for the Presidential contest that year?  I never liked any of the candidates except for the ex-Governor of Arkansas…..until that Monday when Megyn Kelly so rudely threw  candidate Donald Trump a  series of GOP attacks about how Donald has ‘misbehaved’ with women, and asked GOPly, “Is that the way you treat all women?……with the GOP camera directed right on our Trump for the blow out punch…..and Our Donald answered in a second….”No! Only Rosie O’Donnell.”

About half of the Republicans in the audience, nearly all Trump hater GOPers, exploded with laughter…and so, in agreement.  I suddenly found my man for our America’s next President….(I much later learned while listening to Dennis Prager interviewing David Horowitz during is radio show, that my conservative hero Horowitz confessed that is when HE discovered HIS candidate to beat Crooked Hillary that coming November.

Yet, being a former high school teacher of “Modern Problems”,  I decided to search the internet for more info about Donald J. Trump….to get to know him better.   I learned his older brother, and very close brother to Donald, had killed himself from alcoholism.

Late that July the Washington Post had smeared Donald big time using his exwife, Ivana’s divorce court words against Donald  as a weapon to bury  him  as a contender in the coming Presidential election that November.

Ivana had written a letter to the editor at the  leftist Washington Post Trump hater crowd, confessing that much of her anger at that time at court  had come from the shock of the cause for  the divorce and then listed a series of laudable descriptions of the Presidential candidate as a father and their good times in business together.

I knew he was very bright.  I knew he truly  loves his America and like myself  felt  our country  was falling apart in countless ugly  directions….and the suave, clever, somewhat racist anti-American Barack Hussein Obama had added so much to our cultural, moral, and financial decline.   And then there was Crooked Hillary to deal with if our USA was ever going to recover from the cultural, intellectual, and educational decays of its past half century.

President Donald J. Trump has made me confident, very confident he is the only person as President who can get our American republic back on a God-fearing, prosperous, civilized, religious, economic,  and socially sound World-leader-Nation once again….for peace and prosperity for all!  and who will BUILD THAT WALL!

DEM DITSIES present their NEW GREEN DEAL!! (reviewed by Jonah Goldberg)

Udder Madness

Dear Reader (Including all of the Democrats who wore blackface but forgot to tell anybody),

Where is Gary Larson when you need him?

I loved Calvin and Hobbes, Peanuts, Dilbert, and Bloom County, but I was in awe of The Far Side. Larson could do more in one panel — daily — than the best often did in three. And he was weird, and I like weird (you’d know that if you could see what I’m wearing right now).
Anyway, I could write about Larson all day long, so long as the armadillo I have under my breastplate doesn’t need to go to the bathroom. But I should get to the point.

Larson loved cows, and he made them into cultural things like no one before. “I’ve always thought the word ‘cow’ was funny,” Larson once said. “And cows are sort of tragic figures. Cows blur the line between tragedy and humor.”

And that’s why we need him now.

Contained within the FAQ for the Green New Deal is one of the greatest sentences ever written with the intention of being taken very, very seriously:

We set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast.

I love this sentence so much I want to stand outside its house holding up a boom box blasting Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes.”

I love the attempt to seem pragmatic. We’re not crazy radicals here, we’re just going for net-zero emissions rather than zero emissions in ten years because we are part of the reality-based community.

This is like the straight man in a comedy team saying something banal and serious to set up his partner for the punchline. “We just need a little more time to get rid of the farting cows and the airplanes.” It’s like Ben Franklin’s “Fart Proudly” essay, except they’re not really in on the joke.
And this is where we need Larson. The Green New Dealers don’t want to get rid all of the cows because bovine genocide is not part of the Commissar’s Ten-Year Plan. But fear not, we’ll get there one day. And even the farters have a little more than a decade to get their affairs in order. But make no mistake: We’re coming for you flatulators (shut up, I need that to be a word). We’re like Kurt Russell in Tombstone, and there’s gonna be a reckoning for you cud-chewing milk-beasts because while we like the cheese we get from you, you must be liquidated for the sin of cutting the cheese.

Leave aside that “Farting Cows and Airplanes” would make a great band name. Forget that it can be read in such way that the airplanes fart too. How many Far Side cartoons could we get out of the image of cows turning on each other for the sin of letting one rip? Remember, all cows fart. (I want to thank the Powers that Be for giving me the opportunity to write that sentence in the context of a serious public-policy debate.) So singling out just the “Farting Cows” as if they are a separate class of animals — the hooved climate kulaks of Al Gore’s Animal Farm remake — conjures images of cows throwing each other under the bus when the Green Commissars show up.

“It was Clarence!” Shouts a cross-legged cow.

“Shut up, Bessy! The Inspector knows that whoever smelt it dealt it!”

You know what you call the cows that successfully survive the purge? The laughing stock.

(On that note, as Dom DeLuise shouted from his trailer before coming out in a Speedo, let me apologize for what you’re about to see next.) It would be udder chaos as each cow tried to be neither seen nor herd because the steaks would be so high. I know I’m milking this by butchering a very serious topic. I don’t want to steer you wrong, and I understand why you might have beef with all of these puns that have moved pasture your lactose tolerance.

They Put It in Writing
Don’t have a cow — I know I am having too much fun with this. And, yes, I know that the methane from cattle is a serious issue. But come on. Just look at this whole thing from a hard-nosed political perspective and you have to see what an unbelievable gift this whole thing is to the very people whom believers in the Green New Deal hate the most.

If you tilt your head and squint, this whole thing looks a bit like Jerry Maguire.

If you’ve never seen the movie, you should. It’s good. But I’m going to assume you did and not recap the whole thing. The kid of a hockey-player client makes sports-agent Jerry Maguire feel guilty about how he exploited his dad. Combined with a bout of indigestion, Jerry writes a 25-page manifesto on why his firm should have fewer clients. He distributes the memo to all of his partners and they all applaud, knowing in their cynical hearts that he signed his own career death-warrant. Soon, he’s asked out to lunch by his Beta — excuse me, Beto O’Rourke-esque partner Bob Sugar to get the bad news. “You did this to yourself. You said ‘fewer clients.’ You put it all on paper,” Sugar explains.

Later, Jerry realizes the full scope of his screw-up and why he’s “cloaked in failure.”

They will teach my story to other agents on “do not do this” day in agent school. Why? Lets recap. Because a hockey player’s kid made me feel like a superficial jerk, I had two slices of bad pizza, went to bed, grew a conscience and wrote a 25-page Manifesto of Doom!

Now, I know some of you are thinking, “How’s that armadillo doing?” He’s fine. Don’t worry. I also know that others of you are thinking that I self-owned myself because Jerry Maguire has a happy ending. Well, here’s the thing: This isn’t a movie.

I’m not going to go over all of the reasons why anything like the Green New Deal will never happen — though I covered a couple in my column. All you have to do is contemplate the tens of millions of jobs — automotive, oil and gas, manufacturing, agricultural — that would be destroyed to understand why politically the Green New Deal, as proposed, might as well be a call to mandate that vegan unicorns crap iPhones. And you can promise to tackle farting cows and planes down the road all you like, it won’t sound any more reasonable to the voters who decide every election. I mean, it’s never a good sign when Nancy Pelosi — who considers climate change her defining issue — brushes you off like she’s a high school principal handed a student petition to abolish homework.

And yeah, I know, the Green New Dealers have an answer: Think of all the jobs we’d create building a new electric grid and high-speed rail system, retrofitting every building in the United States, not to mention the Great Round-Up of the Gassy Cows.

Even if one were to take all of that seriously — an if larger than Egon’s hypothetical Twinkie in Ghostbusters — you don’t have to be Mancur Olsen to understand that the interests invested in the economy as it is aren’t going to bite at your offer of magic beans, and not just because beans make you fart.

Don’t Uncork the Champagne
Nancy Pelosi has many faults, but she understands the facts on the ground. It was Pelosi more than Obama who pulled off Obamacare because she understood that you have to co-opt the “stakeholders,” not declare war on them, to achieve anything significant. She knows that if she were to embrace the Green New Deal (or Medicare for All) it would be the greatest gift she could give to Donald Trump and the GOP, because the stakeholders would stampede, like a herd of cattle fleeing the fart police, to the party that promises to save them.

There’s a reason President Trump proclaimed in the State of the Union last year a few days ago, “Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country.” If Trump is going to get reelected — another giant-Twinkie-sized if in my opinion — he needs to reignite the Flight 93 Binary Choice panic that allowed him to pull off his win in the Electoral College last time. (As of now, there’s almost zero chance he can win the popular vote.) The White House is reportedly — and understandably — giddy over the Dems’ lurch left. Kamala Harris recently told Jake Tapper that she would like to erase the insurance plans of more than 100 million Americans and destroy private insurance companies wholesale. Where will those voters and insurance PAC dollars go if they took her seriously?

Yet none of this means all is good with the world. Many conservatives — including yours truly — are having great fun watching leading Democrats embrace something that can so easily be turned against them.

It’s a quaint memory now, but the goal of the conservative movement was not to make the GOP more conservative. That was step one in a two-part plan. The real goal was to make the country more conservative. That requires moving the center of gravity in politics rightward. How does that project look today?

So while it may be good news in the short-term for Republican politicians for the Democrats to veer wildly to the left, it’s not good news for the country or our cause that conservatism has been redefined as Trumpism for millions of Americans (including millions of conservatives). When large swaths of young voters — the largest bloc of voters in America — look to someone like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as their spokesperson, the Overton window moves in a direction conservatives should not celebrate because it is likely to slam shut on our squishy bits. Many of the people spinning the largely frivolous Trump State of the Union as a masterstroke are implicitly endorsing his moves leftward on legal immigration, infrastructure, trade, paid family leave, and — I would argue — foreign policy.

The larger point is that when you ask for and get a “disruptor” in the Oval Office, you don’t necessarily get to choose the form of the disruptions you get. Conjure a Stay Puft Man or Godzilla all you like, there’s no guarantee that the behemoth will only smash the things you want smashed. Retaining walls that serve valuable purposes will likely get smashed, too.

The Democrats have become radicalized in no small part because of their hatred of Donald Trump. And because that is the defining mindset of the Left these days, it creates breathing room for other forms of radicalism. The people pushing Trump to declare a national emergency to build his wall will undoubtedly rationalize the move on the grounds that he was elected to be a disruptor and the fact that the Democrats are so “obstructionist.” Maybe he’ll get the wall, maybe he won’t. But he will leave in his path enough flattened barriers to executive power that the next Democrat will have no problem using the exact same talking points for her or his emergency declaration. (As I write in the new cover story for National Review, the Left is much better, and has a far richer history, at declaring national emergencies to justify its power grabs.)

More broadly, the Trump years may mark some significant policy and political victories, but culturally it has been a boon for the Left. Just in the last week or so, we’ve seen the Democrats come closer than ever to literally — not figuratively — endorsing infanticide and socialism. Again, that’s arguably good news for partisans looking at the next election, but it’s a nightmare in the larger context, in part because the Democrats could still win despite that baggage. And while the Unicorn Caucus will never get everything that it wants, you can come well short of the slaughter of the farting cows and still do profound damage to the country…….

“Winter” Arrives in Global Warming Minnesota?!?

Newspaper headlines from Feb. 3, 1996, the day after a state record low temperature of 60 degrees below zero in Tower, Minn. (Photo from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources)
PUBLISHED:  | UPDATED:

It could reach minus 27 in St. Paul and Minneapolis on Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service. Two decades ago in St. Louis County, they would have considered that a tropical paradise.

Next week will mark the 23rd anniversary of the coldest temperature ever recorded in Minnesota — a Hoth-like 60 degrees below zero on Feb. 2, 1996.

It happened outside of Tower, Minn., a city of about 500 roughly 25 miles south of the Canadian border in the northeast corner of the state. According to a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources account, a few factors besides the obvious (that’d be a “deeply cold air mass”) drove the record reading.

The city sits in a slight topographic bowl, making it a collection basin for cold air, which tends to sink as low as possible. And with nearly four feet of standing snow, the thermometer — perched at five feet — was that much closer to where the coldest air rested.

Things weren’t so hot in the Twin Cities, either, with a temperature of 32 degrees below zero at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport — just a few degrees off the coldest day on record in the metro (minus 34 in January 1936.)

Six days later, it was bikini season in Tower: The high hit 48 degrees on Feb. 8, 1996.

As far as lows go, the 60-below mark is tied for fifth all-time in the United States, behind:

  • Prospect Creek, Alaska, 80 below, January 1971
  • Rogers Pass, Mont., 70 below, January 1954
  • Yellowstone National Park, Wyo., 66 below, February 1933
  • Maybell, Colo., 61 below, February 1985
