The Ego and Mr. Obama, A Man Who Has Been Living Without a Country

Peter Wehner at Commentary,  wrote the following paragraphs describing the task Mr. Obama had set for himself  when he thought he had been elected  Emperor:

“President Obama has, so far at least, performed rather dismally. He set super-human expectations for himself — including his pledge to slow the rise of the oceans and begin to heal the planet, his commitment to resist the temptation to “fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long,” and to “transform” America at what he called a “defining moment.”

In some respects, of course, President Obama has transformed America — but in ways many American find alarming. What we are seeing all across our land is an extraordinary, organic movement rising up against Obamaism. If you go to the heart of this effort, beyond even the policy differences themselves, what you will find is an effort to restore America. It is a direct, energetic, and sometimes rambunctious response to the president’s transformational project, to his effort to remake America in his own liberal image and conforming to his own liberal views and values.

Barack Obama is, right now, the architect of a failing presidency and, soon, a broken party.”

How well this writer expresses the form called President Obama.  Alas,  America is burdened by a leader who has been living  without a country.

Thelma Hart…….And the Classic Beauty of Honesty and Sincerity

“Ms. Velma Hart — middle class, a wife and the mother of two, a veteran, and an African-American Obama supporter — said this:

Quite frankly, I’m exhausted – I’m exhausted of defending you, defending your administration, defending the mantle of change that I voted for, and deeply disappointed with where we are right now. I have been told that I voted for a man who said was going to change things in a meaningful way for the middle class. I’m one of those people and I’m waiting, sir. I’m waiting. I don’t feel it yet. And I thought while it wouldn’t be in great measure, I’d feel it in some small measure.  I have two children in private school and the financial recession has taken an enormous toll on my family. My husband and I have joked for years that we thought we were well beyond the hot dogs and beans era of our lives, but, quite frankly, it’s starting to knock on our door and ring true that that might be where we’re headed again, and, quite frankly, Mr. President, I need you to answer this honestly. Is this my new reality?

This was a very bad moment for the Obama presidency because it was such an honest and representative one.”

Comment:  While “paging” through some various sites looking for something special I came across the name, Thelma Hart in an article at Commentary, written by Peter Wehner.  Apparently there was a Town Hall gathering somewhere yesterday set up by the Obama people for CNBC to star President Obama, all American.

I am not so sure that the president’s establishment approved of Ms. Hart’s remarks.  One thing we can agree on;  Thelma Hart is no politician.  She is an American citizen expressing American feelings.  She radiated honesty and sincerity.  She is married with children and is deeply concerned about the look of today and tomorrow.   Her dream of happiness and security has been clouded.

Rereading her words, I cannot imagine anyone believing that she wasn’t speaking from the  deepest worry of her soul from the words as she expressed them.  She has no ideological agenda.  No axe.  No twistings or angles in her vocabulary……a mother who needs to say something.  Democracy in the flesh.

It is good fortune for the president’s opponents that Mr. Obama is not capable of conveying honesty and sincerity.  It could be that such qualities exist somewhere in his being, but for whatever reason, he has, as yet,  spoken as a dogmatist who has memorized words and paragraphs to tell and execute..  He appears cold…….as “yon Cassius with a lean and hungry look”.   He tolerates listening, but is swamped by  perhaps thinking too much….and too much in echo.

This woman cared about her vote.  What a beautiful American.

Republicans Announce Their Pledge to America

The following  are the statements of general commitment and purpose presented by Congressional Republicans to clarify for the American public their intentions of leadership and action in the coming sessions:

“America is more than a country.

America is an idea – an idea that free people can govern themselves, that government’s powers are derived from the consent of the governed, that each of us is endowed by their Creator with the unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. America is the belief that any man or woman can – given economic, political, and religious liberty – advance themselves, their families, and the common good.
America is an inspiration to those who yearn to be free and have the ability and the dignity to determine their own destiny.

Whenever the agenda of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to institute a new governing agenda and set a different course.

These first principles were proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence, enshrined in the Constitution, and have endured through hard sacrifice and commitment by generations of Americans.

In a self-governing society, the only bulwark against the power of the state is the consent of the governed, and regarding the policies of the current government, the governed do not consent.

An unchecked executive, a compliant legislature, and an overreaching judiciary have combined to thwart the will of the people and overturn their votes and their values, striking down long-standing laws and institutions and scorning the deepest beliefs of the American people.

An arrogant and out-of-touch government of self-appointed elites makes decisions, issues mandates, and enacts laws without accepting or requesting the input of the many.

Rising joblessness, crushing debt, and a polarizing political environment are fraying the bonds among our people and blurring our sense of national purpose.

Like free peoples of the past, our citizens refuse to accommodate a government that believes it can replace the will of the people with its own. The American people are speaking out, demanding that we realign our country’s compass with its founding principles and apply those principles to solve our common problems for the common good.

The need for urgent action to repair our economy and reclaim our government for the people cannot be overstated.

With this document, we pledge to dedicate ourselves to the task of reconnecting our highest aspirations to the permanent truths of our founding by keeping faith with the values our nation was founded on, the principles we stand for, and the priorities of our people. This is our Pledge to America.

We pledge to honor the Constitution as constructed by its framers and honor the original intent of those precepts that have been consistently ignored – particularly the Tenth Amendment, which grants that all powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

We pledge to advance policies that promote greater liberty, wider opportunity, a robust defense, and national economic prosperity.

We pledge to honor families, traditional marriage, life, and the private and faith-based organizations that form the core of our American values.

We pledge to make government more transparent in its actions, careful in its stewardship, and honest in its dealings.

We pledge to uphold the purpose and promise of a better America, knowing that to whom much is given, much is expected and that the blessings of our liberty buoy the hopes of mankind.

We make this pledge bearing true faith and allegiance to the people we represent, and we invite fellow citizens and patriots to join us in forming a new governing agenda for America.”

Comment:  A reader will know immediately that this document was not written for president Obama to present to the American people.   No president in American history is more foreign to these listings of pledges than Barack Hussein Obama.

The battle now facing  America is whether the people control the government or the government controls the people.   It is a free society in battle against academia Marxists.

(I found this listing at Powerline.)

An Interesting Letter to American Marxists

DIVORCE  AGREEMENT

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al:

We have stuck together since the late 1950’s for the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course.

Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let’s just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is a model separation agreement:

–Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a similar portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

–We don’t like redistributive taxes so you can keep them.

–You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU.
–Since you hate guns and war, we’ll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military.
–We’ll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and you can go with wind, solar and biodiesel.
–You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O’Donnell. You are, however,  responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them.

–We’ll keep capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street.

–You can have your beloved lifelong welfare dwellers, food stamps, homeless, homeboys, hippies, druggies and illegal aliens.
–We’ll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO’s and rednecks.
–We’ll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood .

–You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we’ll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.

–You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we’ll help provide them security.

–We’ll keep our Judeo-Christian values.

–You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism, political correctness and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill.

–We’ll keep the SUV’s, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Subaru station wagon you can find.

–You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors.

–We’ll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right.
–We’ll keep “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “The National Anthem.”
–I’m sure you’ll be happy to substitute “Imagine”, “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing”, “Kum Ba Ya” or “We Are the World”. Would you agree to this?   If so, please pass it along to other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I’ll bet you answer which one of us will need whose help in 15 years. The above note was passed on to me by neighbor and friend, Arlene Taber.   Whoever made the divisions above knows today’s America well.

–Since it often so offends you, we’ll keep our history, our name and our flag.

–We’ll practice trickle down economics and you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot.

Sincerely,
John  J. Wall
Law Student and an American

P.S. Also, please take Ted Turner, Sean Penn, Martin Sheen, Barbara Streisand, & Jane Fonda

with you.
P.S.S.  And you won’t have to press 1 for English when you call our country.

Comment:  I received the above note of separation from friend and neighbor, Arlene Taber.  The author knows contemporary America well.

I.P. 2008 Candidate David Dillon Endorses Erik Paulsen in 3rd Congressional District

The following was announced this morning:

“Eden Prairie, MN – 2008 Independence Party candidate for Congress in the Third District, David Dillon, endorsed Representative Erik Paulsen for re-election.  Dillon, a small business owner from Minnetonka, cited Paulsen’s focus on fiscal responsibility and advocacy for small business and job creators as the primary reasons for his endorsement.

“In 2008, I ran against Erik, but today I am proud to endorse him,” said Dillon.  “I’ve been pleased to see Erik’s practical and bipartisan approach to promote the best interests of the Third District and Minnesota.  Just as my campaign stressed the need for common sense solutions to the many problems facing our country, I’m pleased in Erik Paulsen’s solution-oriented focus that rises above partisanship and I want to make sure his voice returns to Congress.”

“I thank David Dillon for his support and endorsement and I want to echo his call for bringing common sense solutions to Washington,” said Paulsen.  “Too often, pandering to ideology trumps the needs of our citizens.  Americans want jobs, economic certainty and fiscal discipline in Washington.  I look forward to continuing to focus on these priorities.”

In 2008, Dillon earned almost 11% of the vote in the race for Congress in the Third District.”

Comment:  This is very good news.   Not that I believe Erik is in any trouble this year running for his first re-election.  It is likely there is not much difference politically thinking between these two candidates.  What was decided is beneficial for at least the fiscal conservative vote in the upcoming Congress.

I knew Gerry Dillon, David’s father, fairly well.  He was in printing….an owner.

What a bright, clever, erudite, pleasant, well speaking, honorable, knowledgeable, enjoyable person to know.  He ran for Mayor of Minneapolis many years ago as a DFLer.   I think he lost to P.K. Peterson, but that is a long time ago.

Today, Gerry, if he were active and at his best,  would be a Reaganite to the core……..Today’s DFL  Party has become so distant from responsible poltical leadership, it could never recognize the merits of supporting a candidate like Gerry.  I am not surprised his son has taken certain steps in the direction of his memorable father.

Poetry in Today’s Political Season

The following rhymes were sent to me from MN Prager Group member, Gayle Lacny.  The poet is as yet unknown or is not acknowledged:

‘Twas the night before elections

    And all through the town
    Tempers were flaring
    Emotions all up and down!

    I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
    Had cut off the TV
    Tired of political crap.

    When all of a sudden
    There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
    Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet
    They wanted my pay
    To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!

    He snatched up my money
    And quick as a wink
    Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink

    He then rallied his henchmen
    Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
    To tear my country apart!

    ‘ On Fannie, on Freddie,
    On Biden and Ayers!
    On Acorn, On Pelosi’
    He screamed at the pairs!
They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn’t stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think on this one final note–

    IF YOU DONT WANT SOCIALISM
    GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

Comment:  Thank you, Gayle.  This has, thus far, been a better-than-usual elections season for conservatives and the poetry and prose which they have created.
It is indeed a battle in our America against academia-led Marxism.
Russia before 1917 was not yet a Marxist state, when Marxist Nikolai Lenin was plotting his dictatorship of the laborers.  Once his “soviets” were in place, the terrors from forcing equality on the Soviet people lasted for 70 years.
The Russian government today, although significantly less tyrannical than it’s predecessor, is still managed by members of the former KGB, the Soviet secret police.

It should be noted and noted nation-wide.   President Obama was a student of Marxism.  His political priorities suggest that he still is.

A student of Marxism is usually called a Marxist.
